It was an average cruise; great service, poor in activities and tours

I chose this cruise because of its Port-au- Calls, which I had not visited before. It was somewhat inconvenient as it sailed from San Juan, PR and we live in Miami, thus had to fly in the day before (the same day flight was leaving at 7 AM and had to be in the Miami airport at 4 AM.. Thus it cost me a one way ticket to SJ plus a night in a hotel plus meals (an extra $700). The cruise had 7 ...

It went where we wanted to go

We chose this cruise because it went to the destinations we wanted. We had been on this ship in December and were disappointed and afraid this time would be also not good. !. It was always noisy (loud music) even in the café. Some people like quiet. There are bars for loud music. 2. Food was considerably better than in December. You still don't understand "my time" means it's about me ...

Wonderful cruise, but disappointing land arrangements

I have no complaints about the cruise portion of this trip, but was disappointed with the hotel overcharges arranged by AIR2SEA, Royal Caribbean's partner. I was charged $513.72 for a two night stay in Barcelona, but was quoted a price of 148 Euros per night by the hotel's reservation desk which is about $160.00 making the total $320.00 for two nights. I am not happy with an overcharge of almost ...

Shakedown or refit cruise? But the weather did not cooperate

This was our 4th TA and the 3rd on a RC ship. The check-in was somewhat unorganized, prior to them losing several cameras at the check-in. Even with these problems the crew was able to get our pictures and log us onto the ship. We never did understand why the ship left port at least 3 hours after we were scheduled, however it did provide us with the ability to go on deck and watch as we ...

Vets Cruise!

I thought the ship was a bit worn and needs some updating! Overall adequate Cruise. The highlight of the cruise was the food quality especially the premium restaurants. Getting on the ship was a bit of a chore and getting off the ship was a complete fire drill with long waits through customs. I felt like I was back in the army again. It was certainly a hurry up and wait senario. The Fort ...

Love Transatlantic Cruises, we chose this itinerary for the ports and 8 days at sea, there is nothing better than being in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean with no commitments. Unfortunately RCI missed the point on this cruise by far. The food was warm at best and repetitiave, the crew seemed miserable and we watched some very harsh Guest Services agents while in line just getting our bill. Chops ...

Needs a Facelift!

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Brilliance of the Seas

My husband and I enjoyed being together and we love being on the water, but the ship left a lot to be desired. The entire ship needed a face lift. It was looking tired, and actually, unclean and unsanitary in certain locations. The carpeting in certain areas was stained. The fabric on the cabin sofa and chairs, and all of the furniture in the public areas, dining rooms and cafeterias were ORIGINAL ...

Chose this cruise to top up cruise points. Main dining room food was the best I have had on RCCL for the last 3 cruises. CHOPS specialty food and service was superb Govani's left a lot to be desired with both the food and the service. Steak was burned, then the replacement was raw so had to send back a third time. Seafood gave the impression that it was a leftover. Our waiter made me ...

Royal Caribbean going downhill

I, and many others felt that Royal Caribbean has gone downhill. We are Diamond members, and are disappointed to feel this way. The reasons include: 1 - there were limited activities for us to participate in (especially on sea days, which were many), 2 - Most of the activities were income producing for Royal Carib. (e.g. used to have free classes for jewelry making. There was only a scrap booking ...

First Transatlantic Crossing

This was my first crossing even though I have done numerous previous cruises throughout the world. There were a large number of people who had done many crossings. Most of them agreed that this was either rougher than previous ones or that it was the roughest. I knew this was a possibility but was hoping for a smooth ride. The first two days were in the Caribbean going to San Juan. This was ...
