Rhapsody of the Seas Canary Islands and Coco Cay Cruise

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas

This was a vacation that I took with family members all of whom are retired. The first leg of our cruise was the eight day Italy and Mediterranean cruise on the Rhapsody that began on October 24th, 2017. We decided to continue on the transatlantic crossing on the Rhapsody, back to the United States that ended in Tampa. We found the Rhapsody of the Seas a very small and old ship. The ship ...

Relaxing Transatlantic Crossing

We choose this cruise as it stopped in the Canary Islands and was supposed to go to CocoCay (lol) and to try a transatlantic. We treated ourselves to a junior suite as we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and although the suite itself was nice, there was too much noise from above. We were one cabin away from spa so have no idea what all the noise at night was from since the Park ...

TA November 2017

Chose RCL for TA because we’ve done TAs with RCL before. Found Rhapsody of the Seas to be disappointing. Even though she’s had a facelift in 2012 she is worn. Wooden tables are scuffed. Table in the Viking Lounge had red wine stains on the table top. I went into the ladies room to get some moist paper towels to clean the table. Balcony cabin roomy enough. Menu at the Windjammer repetitive day ...

We choose this cruise because it did not go to the Caribbean, to unknown islands because of the Harricane. We wanted to see more of the Canary Islands. We were disappointed that the Captain knew that he could not 'tender' at Coco Cay and Royal Caribbean did not make provisions to stop at another port, i.e. 'Nassau or Freeport' probably because it cost 'money'. The terminal in Tampa is way too ...

Enjoyable cruise

The ship seemed well maintained. I loved the Solarium pool and the whirlpools in the main pool area. It would be nice if the whirlpools in the Solarium had jets. The food was good, though they never served a lobster dinner in the dining room, though they did in the Windjammer. There is not enough room in the Windjammer nor enough seats. I gave up eating there and ate all of my meals in the ...

We are a married couple from Scandinavia, who previously have been on a large number of cruises. We have sailed, both on many Transatlantic cruises, and on other destinations with several different Cruise Lines. Pre-cruise: We had booked in advance a private shuttle from our arrival airport in London, to our hotel in Southampton. As several times before, we had reserved a room at the 4* ...

Lovely Ship, Excellent Crew; Just Not for Us

The cruise was a retirement gift to ourselves , lovely ship starting to look a little bit tired but spotlessly clean and a credit to Royal Caribbean. Our waiter was amazing , after day 1 he remembers our names our drinks and our preferences. I know it’s his job but you really appreciate the effort both he and his assistant made . The food in the main restaurant was absolutely first class , I,m a ...

This transatlantic cruise was very good. WE had smooth seas and wonderful weather. The air temperature was in the 70's and 80's The food in the dinning room was excellent. All of the ship's crew were wonderful. Providing wonderful service and always willing to help. Our cabin steward, dinning staff and entertainment was fabulous. There were a few negative items. First, we could not get ...

I like RCI but not happy with room service charge of $8.00 could see the charge if late in evening even though I am not a room service person I thought the charge was a little heavy. We were only informed of one port offering free transportation to town, and were heading back to the ship as my roommate could not walk the distance to town when we saw a bus offering free transportation to town, if ...

We chose the Freedom Transatlantic to be with great people who we have traveled with in the past years! The ship was in good shape. The cabin was fine and our room steward took good care of us. The food was ho-hum and we felt the quality of the food was not what we expected. The Cruise Director and Activities Manager and their staff were excellent. The entertainment was good......but, we ...
