Highlights of Cruise: Embarkation in Malaga: This was very smooth. We arrived at the port by about 11:30 AM and were able to easily drop baggage with porters, check-in, and board the ship.
On the ship:
a) For a long voyage, the JS category room is perfect. I appreciated the walk-in closet, larger balcony, and larger sitting space. Plenty of storage for people that pack too much.
b) ...
Air Travel and Embarkation We used RCL Choice Air. The airline (U.S. Airways) was fine, getting us to Rome an hour ahead of schedule. Our luggage arrived as scheduled. RCL personnel were at the airport to meet us. We left our bags with them, and were taken to the ship by bus by way of a three-hour tour of Rome. For some this might have been a fun sightseeing tour. Since we have been to Rome, ...
The was a Transatlantic repositioning cruise from Barcelona to Miami. The ship is freshly out of drydock after a major overhaul much touted by RCI. Overall the ship looks pretty nice with fresh carpeting, new furnishings and new plumbing.
Which leads to the first problem. The smell of fresh sewage was a problem in the lower decks forward and wafted into the centrum and onto the open upper decks ...
Flight to Barcelona was 3 1/2 hours late in leaving this was not to bad considering hurricane sandy and the troubles other folks had. Hotel Rivalto was great, room was clean, staff was great, location excellent will definitely go there again. Arrived at ship 1 pm on Sat. very smooth embarkation stateroom was ready dropped off carry on, off to windjammer. Our cabin needed a do over as the carpets ...
This was our fourth cruise. Now feel ready to feed the internet with feedback.
Have read many reviews, usually finding the negative side to contain the most useful information.
Bringing liquor on board
On previous cruises we have packed a bottle of Baileys for the room. My wife likes it in her coffee and I like the odd shot before dinner or in the morning. Well Royal Caribbean thinks this ...
This was out 39th cruise, the 6th on RCI. Our most recent cruise was on the "Oasis of the Seas" earlier this year and before that we had not been on RCI for 15 years, when we took the" Enchantment of the Seas" on a London -- Boston cruise. We weren't all that happy at that time mainly due to a lack of activities.
We flew to Madrid and then took the train down to Malaga (2.5 hrs). Stayed at ...
We originally planned on going to Rome for a week but soon realized it was cheaper to take this cruise back to the states than fly back! 16 nights for $509 pp. This was an unbelievable bargain. Especially starting in Rome and going to Corsica, Mallorca, Cartegena, Spain, two different stops in the Canary Islands and Nassau before disembarking in Galeveston.
We spent 6 nights pre cruise based ...
The Vision OTS is a medium sized (by today's standards) ship that doesn't drive you crazy with crowds. It is big enough to have lots of options for activities but not so big that the numbers of people are overwhelming. There was always a quiet place to read somewhere on the ship. Missed the cafe in the atrium for coffee and pastries: this ship only had the specialty coffee bar and Ben and Jerry's ...
I loved this cruise. Embarkation in Southampton was a piece of cake. Showed up, checked in, went on board. Our cabin, a Grand Suite was wonderful. Yes, the ship is a bit dated and some worn spots, but it is 14 years old. It will be refurbished next year. But the service in all respects was exceptional. Our Cabin Steward, our Waiter and Asst. Waiter, and our Head Waiter couldn't have been ...
This was our 3rd cruise (all with RCI) and first TA. We booked it 18 months in advance because of the great itinerary - so many ports, including the Faroe Islands!
First, I want to mention how helpful our very active CC roll call members were for planning private tours, sharing information, organizing activities, and such. I felt like I had 350 new friends before ever setting foot ...
