Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Ovation of the Seas

Our port of sailing was Sydney so we took advantage of getting there a few days earlier to take in some sights, hadn't been there for several years so was well worth it. Recommend the ''Roar 'n' Snore'' at Taronga Zoo. Totally amazing! Did the other usual stuff including Sydney Tower etc. It was our first cruise and we weren't disappointed. Unsure of what to expect, especially after ...

Excellent in many respects, only lacking in a few areas

We chose such a large ship as we were advised there would be plenty for our teenagers to do on board. We were keen to see the south island of New Zealand and really enjoyed our RC shore excursions in Dunedin and Wellington and travelling through Milford Sound and the other Sounds. Unfortunately a storm meant we didn't stop in Picton and the ship took a different route back to avoid very choppy ...

Our 4th cruise with Royal Caribbean, first time on Ovation of the Seas. Staff on other ships seemed much more interested, and committed to the cruise. This time, we had 3 different staff members tell me they couldn't wait to get off and finish their contracts. Way more unsupervised children than ever before. We have been on other cruises with more children in school holidays (1200), but ...

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Explorer of the Seas

We cruised on Explorer of the Seas to the South Pacific in a Grand Suite. Concierge George was very friendly, always on time for priority embarkation and shore excursions. He would personally escort you via the Staff elevator, and it kept going for the whole port day! The main dining room was amazing and had plenty of delicious choices and great waitstaff. Our suite attendant was very helpful, and ...

We did a South Pacific Cruise with Royal Caribbean on their Explorer of the Seas ship this year. We had a Junior Suite Cabin - Deck 10, Cabin 1628. This was an excellent, spacious cabin and our cabin attendant said it was one of the best on the deck - thanks to booking early (about a year ahead). The cabin had a couch and two armchairs and a lovely balcony. A very big walk in robe was also great ...

We sailed on RCCL’s Radiance of the Seas for 28 days from January 3 to 31, 2018. This was two 14-day back-to-back cruises that took us from Australia to New Caledonia, Fiji, Tonga, both islands of New Zealand, and back to Australia. First let me say that the ship’s staff and managers worked very hard to please. Airline employees are experts at saying “no,” while RCCL’s employees try very hard ...

We were looking forward to a fun, party type atmosphere like we have had recently on Explorer, Rhapsody and Celebrity Solstice. Those ships had dancing almost every night to a really uptempo band playing great dance music and there was either a party in the public area or the nightclub was pumping. This voyage had a largely young to youngish age group looking to have fun at night but the ...

Old but correct ship partially renovated. Service on board was a little bit to festive or let's say relax even if attendants where nice. No touch of class compare to other ships. We had an excellent room attendant on our 10 th deck. We are not young people even if in good shape and we were travelling with our grand daughter that dreamed on this cruise and overall enjoyed. Stateroom for three ...

This was our first cruise for myself and wife. I had expected the ship to be quite crowded considering we were leaving in peak period but felt there was not much crowding on board. The Windjammer buffet had multiple food areas so you could always walk to a different food station if one was busy. The staff were all very friendly and polite. It was also nice that no one was expecting tips after ...

Trepidation to Cruise.... Not Now

Took the family on our first cruise and for me its been 35 odd years since last cruising - friends and colleagues warned us of all these nasty experiences and I now suspect its so the ships aren't booked out and prices are kept down. So a 14 day Sth Pacific journey - a stateroom, a balcony room and an internal room with a virtual balcony. Our suite/stateroom exceptional, good size good balcony, ...
