Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Serenade of the Seas

First, the on-line service team instructed me ( a few days before sail) to check in at a specific time (5 hours before departure) which is never mentioned from the beginning; when I inquire about this arrangement, they answered this is just "every other cruise line does". This is very inconsiderate as not every passenger living in the set-off port or nearby, this kind of arrangement should be ...

Great service, good holiday, but it could have been better

We chose this cruise because of its itinerary, and we were not disappointed by the ports of call. It's our third cruise with RC . We were on Brilliance last year and this ship is virtually identical which helped with settling in- the colony club is the safari club and the Pacifica theatre is the tropical theatre. The year before we were on Splendour, which was sold to Thomsons. So small ship ...

Cabin was ok. The hallway was smelly at times. Poopy smell. The towels were smelly. Windjammer had decent variety of food. But, some days the food was stale. Plus some tables were smelly near the kitchen. Too much traffic and turn over, the quality and cleanliness was getting hurt I thought. The staff tried but guaranteed 18% tip is effecting service. The constant marketing for paid ...

Food and main dining experience let the cruise down

Positives: 1.The places we stopped were all exceptional. 2.We liked the size of the ship easy to get around ( I managed to find my way back to our cabin on my own after only one day ( being a man I take that as a positive!)) 3.Chops Grill is definitely worth a visit - Food and staff both exceptional 4.We had a mini suite and were very pleased with the size. Negatives: 1.Two ...

Great Itinerary!

I chose this cruise for the itinerary. The overnight in Stockholm, our embarkation city, allowed us to fly in on the day of the cruise, rather than fly in early to assure we did not miss the ship due to air travel delays. There were also three full days in St. Petersburg, and an overnight in Copenhagen before disembarkation. We stayed in an inside cabin located on deck 9 forward. I found the ...

This was the cruise I wanted to take, it offered the most time in St. Petersburg and you are going to need it. All the other ports of call were wonderful and just beautiful. I am a Royal Carribean loyalist. I like the layout of the ships and Serenade was no surprise. She is a beautiful older lady who sadly is showing her age. I was disappointed to see rust in our bathroom and the curtains over our ...

I'll be writing this review in 2 segments. First, a quick overview and then a detailed review of the ports and details of the cruise. The Good: Our cabin. We were in 9656, a 2 bedroom family suite. The concierge privileges were also amazing. Chops for breakfast (concierge privilege) was wonderful. The itinerary was wonderful and the service was with a smile. The teen club was active and ...

The itinerary of this cruise was excellent with only one day at sea. Now to the part that explains why my rating was only 3 stars. The food in the dining room and the Windjammer were adequate at best. Please don't order a steak in the dining room because honestly it was the worst quality of meat I have seen. I actually tried ordering it twice with the same results. Sorry Royal but true. ...

RCL is cutting corners!

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Serenade of the Seas

Went on a cruise July 12 -19 with Serenade of the Seas Baltic Cruise, and I must say RCL is slipping. I did the BOGO special, however they over charge you for everything: Mixed drinks $12.50 (They were $6.75 to $8.50 a year ago), Sundries (Dental Floss $5.50), Goods in the Centrum Shops were double and triple the price compared to the port shops. The food in the Windjammer is awful. Service was ...

This was our fourth family cruise with Royal Caribbean (RCI) and we were all super excited about exploring the Baltics on ‘Serenade of the Seas’ 05-12 July, 2015. Opting for the extra acreage we had booked an ‘Owners Suite’ and were allocated 1058 just off the Centrum. It’s immediately below the entrance and outdoor area of the Windjammer all day dining restaurant which you will discover when ...
