First let me say that my wife and I are not active cruisers, having taken fewer than 8 in our 50 years together. We prefer to plan our own trips and see things on our own. We chose the Baltic cruise on RCI because of the 3 days in St. Petersburg and we didn't want to try Russia on our own. It was a mistake we will not make again. If we ever cruise again, it will not be with RCI.
Embarkation ...
After some amazing cruises with TUI and Royal Caribbean, we chose to do the Norwegian Fjords primarily for the scenery. Sad to say Gerainger aside we didn’t see too much of the Fjords and spent a lot of time on choppy sea. Trips further into the Fjords were available but at a price.
The ship wasn’t clean at all. Many windows were filthy, and some of the public areas were extremely dusty. We ate ...
Having sailed with RCCL many times I expected a great cruise on a grrat ship. Sailed out of Copenhagen. The Seranade of the Seas is in dire need of extensuve updating and repairs. Windows in the Safari Club lounge haf 1" of water between the panes. It had formed into algae. Water leaking in windows in the Windjammer. Casino tobacco smoke was not ventilated properly spilling in to public areas. ...
We cruised the baltic sea in July. The ship was a little disappointing in regards to the food availability, especially from 20 yrs ago. First, no midnight buffet. Second, No food available after midnight - we would go to see a movie that finished at midnight, but unable to get a snack after unless you wanted to pay room service. Third, the other food service areas did not have a place just to ...
We did this cruise primarily for the destinations -- Copenhagen, Tallinn, Stockholm, St Petersberg, Helsinki. The ports were nice and we had pretty good weather.
My wife and I traveled with 4 kids ages 11, 9, 6, and 3. The kids enjoyed the adventure ocean for the most part.
We have been on 10+ cruises with RCI - and the Serenade of the Seas is a very average ship. It's a bit older, and it ...
We chose this cruise as my son has always wanted to see Eastern Europe.
We were told to embark at 1030am which i was suprised at because it seemed quite early but were happy to go along with it. When we checked in we were given an empty folder pocket which apparently should have had a wifi code in but didnt, we should have had 2 drinks package stickers which we didnt and we got our coffee card ...
Want to fight over a table during lunch time? Be reminded over the sound system not to hang on to long? Pay an arm and a leg for your water, tea and sodas? Sleep on an artisanal extra bed made of bits and pieces? And pay over € 7000 for it.
Chose the Serenade of the Seas.
You might also experience the leaking through the ceiling and the bathroom lamp falling down in the middel of the night ...
We were a total group of 17 in a variety of accommodations ranging from Owner's Suites to inside staterooms. We were all treated the same...POORLY. First I had to find my own luggage which was wet from being left outside in a rain storm. Boarded the ship at 11am for a 5 pm sailing and nothing to do on the ship (besides hunt for luggage).
Staff is generally unfriendly. Most (not all) ...
Itinerary, the main reason for the cruise. It was disappointing. Next time we will choose a different cruise line. It looks like the cruise lines main objective is to secure as much money as possible from the passengers. We have never been on a cruise where one has to pay for shuttle services from berthing jetty to city centres. The speciality restaurants onboard are expensive and not very good. ...
We chose this cruise , "The Serenade of the Seas", for the itinerary. We cruised with Royal Carribean three times before this cruise and were not overly impressed with the food, dining room service or stateroom service. This ship was going where we wanted to go and we thought we should give Royal Carribean another try .l We had a suite on the last 2 cruises on Royal Carribean and a suite on this ...
