I went with my cousin on this cruise from LA to Miami via the Panama Canal. Overall, it was fine, but definitely not the caliber of cruises I had taken in the past (pre-pandemic) with RCC. My opinions are as follows:
Cabin: We had a junior suite, mid-ship, that met my expectation for space and comfort. The beds were very comfortable and the veranda had a lounger, which was nice to relax in. The ...
Service nearly everywhere was very good to outstanding. The waiters we had in the MDR worked very well to get our table of 4 were very well taken care of and consistently out in about an hour and 15 minutes. The head waiter visited our table usually 2-3 times every night. This has NEVER happened before on any ship on any cruise line. We were lucky to see a head waiter 2-3 times the entire ...
It was around hurricane Idalia and we were supposed to leave out of Tampa.
The city closed down and the coast guard couldn't clear the ship to dock on time to pick us up on the day of.
Boarding was delayed a day and the cruise was shortened by a day which means that we didn't have time to make it to our destination to Cozumel Mexico. I was one of the few disappointed people because I am not ...
Serenade's food was overall very food. There's just nothing to do on the ship. This should be 3-4 night ship max.
Kid Area: is almost a waste. It's a little bit bigger than a plastic pool in the backyard.
Main Pool: it's kept so deep you better know how to swim or put a jacket on to save yourself.
Dining room: I felt still has a classy look to it we like.
Room: balcony room.

Embarkation was the best I've ever experienced - we walked right on. Debarkation was the worst I've ever experienced - it was a nightmare. People waited hours past their assigned times, many in line. Line was from one end of the ship to the other and never seemed to move.
We were a group of approx 30 coming from Winter Haven - it was nearby and very reasonable. First complaint, we were ...
It is clear the cruise industry is struggling with getting experienced help and cutting corners wherever they can. The dining room food was so bad, we only at there 3 nights and gave up. Everything was old, dry, tasteless. Really...I haven't seen food this bad since the old days when a Carnival cruise was $400 for the week. It took around an hour and 15 min from seating to dinner. We never ...
This was my 6th cruise overall and second with Royal Caribbean and most likely my last with them. When I say this ship was focused on the older crown I mean there was next to nothing for two people traveling in their 20's to do on board. Hardly any activities, no good shows, no music, top deck by the pool was an absolute dead zone. Overall I was looking for a relaxing vacation which was easy to ...
The good, the bad and the ugly. I’m not a fan of this ship’s design. The centrum design lacks functionality. It doesn’t offer enough room for large crowds to enjoy the entertainment and it acts as a chimney for cigarette smoke to travel up to the upper floors and hallways. We were in a suite on floor 10, 5 floors above the casino, we could smell smoke just outside our room in the hallway. Park ...
We went with a group of 12 for New Years and a 40th wedding anniversary which was never acknowledged. Dining room staff were great and our room steward too. Definitely overpaid for this cruise.
I would now rate Royal with Costa and Carnival and I have been on 30+ cruises..
Reasons:
One dispenser in the shower for soap and shampoo. Even the cheapest motels offer separate ...
We like a more than 7 day cruise, so RCI options are really limited unless you do a pricey back to back. We also like the larger ships, Radiance class & larger - for me, the larger the better! After cruising Oasis last year, this ship is disappointing & in need of refurb work. Biggest disappointment is the tiny, congested main pool area, with an overhead video screen that doesn't work. A ...
