First time with RC as we have only done Carnival in the past. Wanted to see Alaska!
State room nice with balcony. Ketchikan was canceled due to weather. Saw icy straits and Juneau.
The food was so mediocre. But that was not all.. the Windjammer dining area was a free for all. No organization.. absolutely chaotic every meal. This whole shop lacked directiom and processes and that energy was ...
We decided to take our adult children and our son's family on an Alaskan cruise to celebrate our 35th anniversary and a milestone birthday for my wife. Because our son has an almost 4 year old daughter, we decided on the Quantum because of the activities and kids program.
The first disappointment came with removing Skagway and replacing it with Icy Point. When our cabins were assigned, we ...
Alaska is Alaska, its stunning, even on sea days but RCs constant nickel and diming its starting to show.
Ship very modern and clean, staff were amazing.
Food continues to decline both in quality and variety.
Skip the Windjammer, the same meals served day after day, cruise after cruise.
New menus in MDR were ok but certainly less choice, food was warm but lacking in taste.
Very odd ...
This was our 2nd time cruising RC and our first cruise to Alaska. We booked a little last minute after other summer vacation plans fell through. First, the pros:
The ship is beautiful! We absolutely loved the public spaces and there seemed to be ample seating for the different shows and activities. My two teenagers loved the teen activities and participated in most of them. The 3 pools were ...
Start with the Pros:
Room attendants were great. If they had not said service was only once a day we would have not known.
Now the cons:
* Main dining - my time dining; 1st half of the trip we had bad service due too the servers having several large groups hogging all their attention. We asked for another table and got better service.
* Chicken briani was horrible. The Naan was a ...
Just got back from Alaska on the Quantum of the Seas, from June 26th to July 3rd. This is going to be an extensive review of the entire vacation, including the ship, meals, entertainment, and the ports. If you are looking to book a cruise on RCA Quantum, this will be your source of real information.
We flew into Seattle two days before the cruise and stayed at the Hyatt Regency. Since we ...
We traveled with friends that thought Disney cruises were too expensive. But we found you get what you pay for.
Pros
- times in port were great
- big ship
- Solarium adult area very nice
- indoor pool, nice for Alaskan cruise
- friendly staff
Cons
- timing of shows versus dinner made enjoying both hard
- shows (while well performed) didn’t really have stories. They ...
We chose this cruise because another couple wanted to take an Alaskan cruise and we had done one last year. We also wanted to try a larger ship since the biggest we had previously been on was the Independence. While the ship has good visibility at the front and the back with the solarium and 2Seventy the rest of the ship is blocked with retail stores which makes it feel closed in. We feel we ...
Pre cruise stressful. we were told we must get antigen test 24 hr b4 we embarked. this info was not relayed to us until 36 hr b4 sailing which caused us to scramble to meet RCI requirements. Also we had to provide an ARRIVECAN b4 boarding which was quite insane since ARRIVE CAN lapsed Sept. 30 and we did not sail into Victoria, Canada Oct.1 RCI created needless stress. NCL looks better and ...
Just to get this out of the way, this was our 23rd cruise, 6th on Royal. Quantum class of ships is my favorite for RCCL. Big enough to have a separate Music Hall but not to have to require reservations for shows like the Oasis class ships. Selected this voyage as it is one of the few that spends a full day in Victoria, BC. However, it skips Ketchican. Very few kids on the ship which was another ...
