Background Information: We are a cruise loving couple 49 & 57 years old with no children. This was our 32 cruise overall, and our first cruise on Royal Caribbean, but certainly not our last. We live in the San Francisco bay area and tend to cruise on the west coast to stay rather close to home, at least at this point in our lives. We have cruised the Mexican Riviera several times prior to this ...
This was our third cruise with RCI and first on their Radiance Class of ship.Previously we had cruised on the Legend OS and the Explorer OS so this gave us a good contrast with the smaller Legend and larger Explorer. This was my least favorite ship of the three and would probably not book this class again. On all 3 cruises we have sailed in Suites as we prefer fewer cruises but more "perks" and ...
This was our first time cruising with Royal Caribbean. After all the reviews we've read we expected it to outshine the other lines we've sailed with. It didn't, but it was still a great cruise.
We drove to San Diego the day before and stayed at the Holiday Inn-Downtown. The hotel was very nice, but I was irked that they charge $15 to park there and hadn't bothered to tell me about it in advance. ...
We are in our mid 50's, live in Toronto, Canada and completed nine cruises. This was our third with Royal Caribbean, the previous two were on the larger Voyager and Explorer, so we knew the ship will be smaller and without the attractive Promenade space. We needed to be in San Diego in February. The ship's reviews were decent, the itinerary covered new ports for us, and the price was really ...
My wife and two of our three kids (left the baby at home with the inlaws) just returned from a 10 day cruise to the Mexican Riviera on the Radiance of the Seas. Months leading up to the cruise, I was extremely excited to see the ship in person, having read quite a bit about the architecture. The ship is covered in glass and offer spectacular views of its surroundings throughout most spaces in the ...
I love Cruise Critic and you must too or you would not be reading this review. I would like to be able to share with you some useful information regarding my cruise on the Radiance and information I received from my fellow Cruise Critic members on this ship.
The embarkation was as smooth as any I have ever encountered. We left our hotel(Holiday Inn Bayside) at 11:00am which is a very short ...
After a 20 minute drive down to the pier, we arrived about 11am.. We got through the embarkation process rather smoothly and headed onboard.
Background: I am 33 years old and single, I cruised without my children this time. I am a die-hard Carnival cruiser and thought I'd try RCCL this time. I traveled with my parents, who are in their early 50's, and three of their friends, who are all seniors, ...
Family and I just returned from our 11 night Mexican Riviera cruise. All in all I would say it was money well spent. The wife left happy which is really the only measure that matters from my stand point. I would like to pass along my 2 cents in hopes that it may help someone in the market for a cruise and considering the Radiance. So you understand my perspective, traveling with me were my wife ...
Embarkation was a breeze. Stayed at the Comfort Inn Airport near Old Town. Took their shuttle to port and left luggage for a porter. Walked right through and was aboard by 11:30 AM.
We have been cruising on Celebrity for the last 7 years or so, but went with Royal Caribbean because Celebrity not offering anything with this itinerary. Definitely a step down.
Ship was nice. Except for toilet ...
I'm a new professional travel agent with 1 year experience as an agent but with 10 years of cruising world wide for over 17 week on 6 cruise lines. I read some of the reviews of this cruise ship and itinerary prior to leaving and found a mix of reviews. So very crittical. So I thought when I got back i'd wite up something for my peers and for anyone on this site. Here goes...
