Not what we’ve been used to from RCCL

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas

There’s been an overall decline in RCCL service since we started cruising with them almost 2 decades ago. From checkin, to room stewards, to food it’s just not the same. We’ve amassed quite a few points and now have a high loyalty status with RCCL, and that used to be worth something, but now you can buy most of what our two decades of sailing has earned if you buy the “key” program. Our loyalty ...

Nice ports. Fellow cruisers not so.

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas

We decided to take this cruise after spending 4 days in Jerusalem and a trip to the Dead Sea. The old city is very awe inspiring and well worth visiting. The cruise left from Haifa which we reached by train, cheaply and efficiently even though the train was crowded and the ticket system not tourist friendly. We had read the reviews here of the ship so were prepared to be underwhelmed but it’s in ...

The Windjammer was JAMMED with people. The poor staff at the doors were threatening to call security as people pushed passed their roped off doorways. Smokers convene at the entrance to the buffet so it is necessary to pass through a cloud of smoke to enter. Long lines to get on and off the ship, long embarkation process, near the end of which they force passengers through the entire length of a ...

This will be my last cruise with Royal Caribbean

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas

As a longtime cruiser with Royal with platinum status, I was expecting more of the same from the ship. I was very disappointed with the customer service , maintenance was done only once a day, we couldn’t get fresh towels after room cleaning in the morning, we were not notified that “crew appreciation “ is mandatory, toiletries were not provided, buffet meals hours were shortened, customer ...

Mixed Experience on RCCL: Impressive Cabin, Exceptional Service, but Organizational Issues and Disappointing Customer Support

We recently embarked on a cruise departing from Haifa in Israel, expecting an unforgettable experience with Royal Caribbean Cruises. While the journey had its highlights, such as a comfortable junior suite and outstanding service, there were several aspects that left me disappointed and frustrated. Let's start with the positives. The cabin assigned to us, a junior suite, was nothing short of ...

Dated cabins and bad food...

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas

We took the cruise from Haifa, Israel to Barcelona, Spain because of the destinations. We got onboard at the port of Haifa. Our cabin was dated and worn. The ship originally set sail in 1997. It doesn't appear that the staterooms have been updated since. The food in the "sit down" restaurants was terrible. Entries appeared to have been plated well before our arrival. The food arrived at ...

The splendor of Italy (by bus)

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas

I want to preface my review by stating that we don't care particularly for travel by bus, or "motor coach" as it is cutely described in the fine print. We especially don't like travelling by bus with our 18 month old child. Well if you pick this cruise, be prepared to travel by bus, a lot. The Itinerary Let's start with the obvious - this "Venice" cruise, marketed as starting in Venice ...

Our worst cruise experience

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas

We chose this cruise for the itinerary but were ultimately disappointed with the destinations as the experience was spoiled by ridiculous numbers of tourists, despite it being towards the end of the season. The cabins were fine although the curtains were in dire need of replacing. In general the ship looked tired. The ship was generally very clean and our cabin was spotless thanks to our excellent ...

The cruise was a treat for myself, my wife and Son (21). It started off great with a gentle cruise out of Venice capturing the views of let’s face it, stunning architecture. With purchased the all inclusive drinks package. Again what we expected no hidden nightmares. Ship Dated and in a poor state of repair : toilets not up to scratch along with the public areas below spec Sun beds ...

Second rate in most areas

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas

User Avatar

Food was unimaginative and generally not particularly well prepared. Main dining room menus were repetitive and pushed filet mignon and lobster with expensive add-on prices. Theater screens/projectors were out of focus, old and inadequate. Schooner lounge space was completely inadequate for trivia while main lounge at the rear seemed to be underutilized. Internet was fast but greatly ...
