Too Many People, Poor Service, Few Amenities

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Oasis of the Seas

First, This is a big boat. But it's mostly storage for all of the passengers. There are not enough amenities to host all of the passengers comfortably. Many times we found we had to wait in lines to be seated for food, for soda machines, ice cream machines, and (most annoyingly) elevators (all the time). We chose this cruise because it was a 'DreamWorks' cruise. We thought it would be ...

Good experience overall, with a few major drawbacks

The two of us got onboard Oasis on 12/9 to enjoy the 8-day Western Caribbean tour. Overall, the experience was positive, as 85-90% of the trip was well organized and executed. The reason for 2-star rating were those few situations which RC could resolve, but they apparently have chosen not to. The ship was spacious, well maintained, and with a lot of amenities. Plenty of activities to choose ...

Enchantment 12-3-18, disappointment

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Enchantment of the Seas

We went with brother and his wife who usually cruise Carnival. We have been trying to get them onto RC for several years. Well this was not a ship for first impressions. The staff tried, but with the limited resources, they couldn't make up for the many deficiencies. The ship is very dated, with a lot of rust and dirt (even the fake plants in the solarium were very dirty & dusty. Looked like they ...

Horrible Food and Cabin!

I was really looking forward to our Thanksgiving weekend cruise. Having been a loyal Carnival cruiser, we decided to switch it up and go with a smaller Royal ship. Big mistake! We are FREQUENT cruisers and have been on 25+ cruises so I know my way around a ship. This was by far the WORST. Everything from the cabin to the service was a disaster, and most of the food was dangerously under-cooked ...

Disappointing!

This was a 50th anniversary celebration cruise for my entire family of 13 people. We chose this ship because of the sail date, departure and return port. That was the the first mistake. My wife and I have attained platinum status on Royal Caribbean. However the last time we were on a RCCL ship was in January of 2004. On that cruise the food was not so good, after this cruise, I don't think we ...

Hurts to face our “truth” and perspective

We’ve been quite “Loyal to Royal” for some time with a few “outside” cruises over several decades. Our next cruise is booked for April, but because we had a November business conference in Orlando, we decided to start with a short cruise to the Bahamas from Port Canaveral. What a disappointment... It wasn’t the size of the ship- we actually prefer smaller, more traditional vessels (ie ...

We wanted to try RC after a few Carnival cruises since everyone raved how RC was sooo much better. HA! The worst cruise ever so far. We went just to go to Coco Cay and like many other times from what I have heard, it was canceled. The only entertainment all day was bongo and karaoke. The shows almost non-existent were 30 minutes long. The check in process was nice. The extra money we paid for a jr ...

This was our first ever cruise, thought we would try, supposedly the best for my wifes 60th birthday. Wish we hadn't bothered. Arrive at Orlando airport, no rep to be found, having had a quick look round, I asked other reps, that were visible, in the obvious place, they told me Royal Caribbean had a desk downstairs. We found the rep, only to be told our transport had left with 2 couples that ...

My wife and I are both Diamond Plus with Royal Caribbean and sail every 2-3 weeks from Central Florida Ports (Port Canaveral, Tampa). We earned our status and always look forward to the great service and recognition perks for our status. The Oasis does not give a hoot if you are Diamond Plus. You are treated like cattle. Royal Caribbean, Company Policy (fleet wide) is concierge lounge and priority ...

The ship itself is magnificent. There is nothing physical that is not impressive. Central Park is a wonder at sea. The Promenade is like nothing I could imagine. But, all that wonder ends when it comes to the amenities. The Cabin: While the cabin is adequate size and the balcony is generous, the rest is second rate. The bed had a foam layer with little cones on the mattress that made ...
