Wonderful Activities and Ship, Truly an Oasis of the Seas

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Oasis of the Seas

I went on the cruise because of the special scrapbooking event. The ship was great! Overall, wonderful experience. I loved the servers playing music outside the Windjammer restaurant each morning. Their food variety was amazing! American Icon Grill was wonderful overall. We sat at the same table each night and got to know our waiters. They were professional and very attentive to our wants. ...

The title sums it up, but being out to sea is always great in spite of expectations. Lets start with the food. Food was the poorest of any cruise I have taken (10) Carnival food was a lot better. The food in the main dining room was not hot and lacked taste or imagination. We were seated with folks that were diamond and they have cruised a lot more than I and they had the same impression. The ...

From the very start it felt as if they were pushing anything that was an extra charge. The specialty dining rooms, the multitude of drink packages. There was a $7.95 fee (to which an additional 18% would be added) for room service, and an $11.95 fee for an in room movie, with absolutely no options for free. What happened to chocolates on the pillow? Complementary beach bag? It appears that Royal ...

Ship is too large for quality experience

Cabins are not well maintained (sheets were torn, modeling coming off). Also, service in dining and activities suffers. Not the crew's fault, it's simply too large to provide a quality experience that you would expect if you've cruised on other lines/ships. On the first night in the main dining room they could not find our table so we were left standing there for 10 minutes. The food, while ...

The Oasis of the seas is a beautiful ship! But it was ruined by everything they charged EXTRA for. They are CHEAP, CHEAP, AND CHEAP!! -Such as $7.95 room service fee. They don’t provide a lanyard for the card, HOWEVER, they sell them for $12.95 EVERYWHERE on the boat. -If you want a lovely meal (free on other cruise lines), then you pay $$$. The regular dining meals are UNDERWHELMING, and ...

Construction above our OASIS CLS ruined our cruise

We chose this cruise on Oasis as a little romantic getaway and splurged on the Crown Loft Suite. While most of our cruise was great including speedy embarkation, awesome venues and our favorite place, the Coastal Kitchen; RC began a major construction project on the roof above us that lasted the entire week. The hammering, drilling banging and grinding that went on above us from 8 am to 6 pm ...

This was our 4th trip on the Oasis, A Ship that we Love. When we chose this cruise a year ago both San Juan, and St. Maarten existed. Today San Juan is the home to devastation and crime, and St. Maarten, Orient Beach are almost entirely gone. Only the nude section exists and the Restaurant is barely standing. The road to Orient was never very good but now its just potholes and ...

We travelled with a family of four, two teenage boys 13 and 15. I’ve been on 5 cruises before this it was my first trip with RC. I’m so torn as I write this review…I worked so hard on my ‘tips and tricks’ I wrote them out for my family before the cruise based on the reviews here and then added to them with my own during the trip. I decided I’m still going to post them as people may find them ...

Dirty, Tired and Broken. The Ship isn't Much Better...

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Oasis of the Seas

We're experienced cruisers in our forties and travelled with our daughter and partner who had their own cabin. This RCCL ship is a small step up from Carnival but not by much. The entertainment was sub-standard even for a cruise. The drinks service and provision thereof comical, firstly the Chandon and as a European we 'let it go' that this is called Champagne onboard but when the Rising Tide ...

I had heard a lot about the largest cruise ship and wanted to try it now that it is sailing out of Port Canaveral. I was disappointed! I will say that the logistics for boarding were quite good. We left our house at 11 AM and were onboard the ship at 12:45. I am not a great chef, but I sure could outperform the pastry chef. All the deserts in the Windjammer were subpar with the exception ...
