Getting Old and Tired. Food was ... blah.

We reached Platinum status with RCL on this cruise, so we have some past experience with the line. The cabin was very dated. Our cabin steward had it nice and tidy for us, but you could tell it was well worn around the edges and at the very least needs a deep cleaning. The bed was very comfy, and the balcony had nice room, compared to our next cruise on Sky Princess, however the plexiglass ...

We love Royal and sail them quite often. The crew onboard is the heart and soul of this vessel. The product seems to be changing which is frustrating. Activities, shows, dining everything needs reservations and there are not enough, it's frustrating paying so much money and not being able to enjoy what you envisioned. Forcing you to wait to board to make reservations causes angst as soon as you ...

Overall, the cruise was pleasant and we set ourselves up with some very low expectations after reading previous reviews. The crew/staff did a fantastic job and many went well above expectations. The stairs and public area carpets looked new, the rooms were dated but overall were in good shape. Artwork throughout the ship has changed since our last RCCL cruise about 6 years ago and it was a nice ...

Cruise was okay, but food is awful. I was beyond disappointed. Nothing like pictures and videos on YouTube. Desserts were the worse. Mostly flavored pudding with whip cream or small cake. No cake slices like picture. It was a joke. The food taste was blah. Looked pretty and looked appetizing, but taste was flavorless. I think COVID has something to do with them making short ends. Not many places ...

Big cuts in quality of service

We love Royal Caribbean, we've sailed tons of times. This cruise was different, room was only cleaned once a day, dirty towels left from day to day. Asked crew member about the captain and they didn't know his name or anything about him. Dinner service was the worst, no personal interaction, no jokes, no laughter...just very cold compared to all previous ships. We had been told on the phone ...

Royal Caribean has Changed

I traveled the largest (by number of Passengers) ship in the world. There are 5 Oasis class ships. Each newer ship has more passengers, RCL did not significantly change the size of the ships, so how do they fit in more passengers? They have deleted or shrunk the public space to fit in more cabins. All of the specialty coffee locations are gone. The Cafe Prominade is still there with long lines. ...

While I am happy to have experienced Royal Caribbean again after two decades, I have come to the firm conclusion that this cruise line is not for me. In what seems like another lifetime, 20 years ago my parents took myself and siblings on the Splendor of the Seas the week following my college graduation. I have only fantastic memories of the ship, service, food and ports of call (San Juan, St. ...

We are empty nesters and this is our 24th cruise. We are a low key couple and we are not foodies, to us Longhorn Steakhouse provides a good steak (to give you an idea of our expectations). Embarkation and Debarkation were a breeze. Truly effortless. We had a balcony cabin and loved it. We were just steps from the entrance to the Boardwalk, Schooner Bar and other great venues. The ...

Great ship, but........

The ship itself was amazing but it fell short of what we expect a Royal Caribbean cruise should be like. Embarkation and Debarkation went very smooth. We started boarding at 10:30 Luggage was already at cabin @1:30. Balcony cabin had adequate space, plenty of closet and storage spaces. However , the cabin steward only cleaned up the cabin once a day not twice as usual. I hope this is not ...

Will not cruise a large ship again. We have done all the Oasis class ships but this wasn't as good. Food cold, overcooked and lack of choices. Good luck getting hot eggs for breakfast. Dining room staff was good, food not so much. Steakhouse was good. Bar service terrible because lack of staff. Shows we're good. Probably the only things that saved the cruise. Got to St Thomas took a taxi into ...
