It's an older, smaller ship so there's not that much on board. I was underwhelmed with it. There's only one pool, besides the kiddie area. There was only one show most nights, which ran into both dinners meaning you had to choose dinner or the show. Not enough dining options on board, especially ones that are open late...more on that later. The ports were nice, the private island was nice. The service on the ship was lacking overall. The bartenders did not care about anything and were over-pouring like crazy, which doesn't sound bad to some but it was more of if I make a strong drink now I won't have to serve you again. It was to the point where we sat down at dinner the last night and were talking about how terrible the customer service was. I'm talking a group of hospitality majors, so we know how rough the industry can be, but we also know that a little bit can go a long way. We had an experience that afternoon at the on board Johnny Rockets where they decided to overcharge on person in our party and undercharge the rest. When we asked the waiter about it, he didn't have much to say. Took it to the desk on ship and they said "well would you like me to charge the rest of your party? just keep it hush hush" uhhh really? great representation of your brand, Royal. Picked a winner there. Fast foward to dinner and halfway through our drinks. Server comes by and takes the drink away from someone in our party. Apparently there's a note on the account that she can't have it. They send her to the front desk to get that straightened out and another member of our party goes with her. The desk says that they don't see a reason why there's a hold. Cool, great communication between the staff. Anyways, five full minutes after they take her drink, they take another persons drink. So she joins the crew at the front desk. Another 5 minutes goes by and the waiter comes back and takes my drink. So now we're up to 3 people (all in the same stateroom). I'm not sure if you've ever been cut off at a bar or restaurant but it's pretty damn embarrassing. Especially when this is the first drink you've had. So we're all pissed and don't even want to go back in the dining room at this point. Anyways, I join them at the desk and at this point we are waiting for a supervisor. The head of security comes over and says that we were playing loud music in the room and they had to tell us to turn it down 3 times. Well if you had to do that, Mr. Head of Security, I feel like you'd recognize us. Oh yea, it wasn't us! Finally got him to review the security footage and realize that, alas, it was not us. Instead of apologizing to us, he says we can go. Uh, no...I'd like an apology and now a service recovery. When my boyfriend points out that "usually when you guys make a mistake, there's some kind of recovery offered" the head of security says "it wasn't our fault"... Except that it was. You accused us of loud music and put a hold on all of our drinks. We ask to speak to head of guest services, again. This time, instead of someone from guest services, we are given the Food and Beverage Manager. All previous conversations have taken place right next to the live band of course. We finally get them to go somewhere quieter, so we're standing in front of the elevators. Classy! Anyways, after we tell him what happened he says that his server was just following protocol. Which we already knew and had no issues with. We again state there should be some kind of service recovery or compensation for this long drawn out ordeal. He says "what do you want me to do?". Well Hospitality 101 is that you offer something, you don't ask...so we mention that in hotels, where we all currently or have previously worked, at this point you would comp the room night or the stay. Obviously things are different on a cruise, but we would like some form of compensation. He says it's above his head. Cool, give us someone we can talk to. FINALLY we are able to speak with the guest services manager. We've only asked for him 3 times at this point. We tell him our story and he actually takes the time to listen and apologize. He looks into what he can do and offers us a $50 credit. THANK YOU! We finally get back on our way and head into the dining room. Dinner happens to be over and they offer us dessert or our cold dinner. We ask if the food can be warmed up and they say that the kitchen is closed so they cannot. You're on a ship with multiple kitchens and you can't find a place to warm up my food. That's absurd! So we go without dinner, which now means I'm hangry and has ruined the last night of my cruise. Head back to the room to try and order room service. The selection is abysmal. So we decide to wander the ship looking for food. The only option is crappy pizza which I had eaten earlier in the day. So we head back to the room to order room service. Tried calling for 15-20 minutes with no answer. At this point, it's midnight and they charge an extra service fee. Forget it, I'll just go to bed hungry. After the miserable experience on board, we get our surveys. Of course they aren't good. I reach out on Twitter and make a comment asking if they read surveys. I'm told I'll get a response shortly. Fast forward 3 weeks and I'm still waiting so I reach out to them via Twitter a third time and they finally tell me I'll get a call today. The person who called me stated that they don't respond to surveys (cool, the Twitter team lied to me) and that they only respond to emails. She asked what my experience was and I refer her back to my survey. I'm told that nothing can be done because they already gave me an onboard credit. Even though I've experienced further issues after that credit and a headache trying to reach customer service after the fact. When I stated that I'd never sail with Royal Caribbean again, instead of offering me a credit towards future sailing, that I probably wouldn't have used anyways, she tells me I should try again because they usually have good service. Oh, yes, I'm going to take your word for it. I was so furious that last night that I wanted to walk off the ship, but let me try again. Needless to say, my friends and I won't be sailing Royal again. And you can bet that this will be shared with my friends and family, and the reach of people never sailing Royal is not worth not giving some kind of customer recovery. Read Less

This was our very first cruise experience and were more than a little upset with the fact that we were not informed the ship we were taking was being used as a Spring break cruise for over 1200 college students. They were rude, loud, used excessive vulgar language, reserved all of the outdoor seating, made it impossible to get a drink from the bar, and there was nothing that the employees of the ship could do to stop them. We observed on many occasions that they were using each others SeaPass cards to obtain alcoholic drinks that only certain people had purchased the drinking plan on, so by the end of the 4th day of the trip, the drinks were watered down due to lack of ingredients. We also paid for the Refreshment package, and on the second to last day, the soda machines were nearly empty of all types of sodas. So even though we paid extra for this unlimited package, we were not able to enjoy it the entire time due to the drinks being gone. We were often unable to get a seat in the hot tub whirlpools on the deck, because they were usually filled with upwards of 15 or more college students. Many times, we were forced to stay in our stateroom because there was not any room for us on the upper deck, and even then, we could still hear their loud antics with some of them yelling and screaming a few floors down from our balcony making it impossible to find a relaxing place where we could enjoy our trip. This even occurred late into the night when we were trying to sleep. These students were running up and down the hallways, knocking on doors during the night, and some were even spitting on our stateroom door. From yelling their school chants during the muster drill to where we could not hear any of the safety instructions to reserving all of the seats by the pool for people who were not even awake yet, every minute on the ship with them made us feel more and more that a Royal Caribbean cruise was not something we would ever do again nor would we advise our friends to do either. We were incredibly upset that Royal Caribbean did not inform us ahead of time of the nature of this ship and that they did nothing to correct their behavior once we were on board. Read Less

We choose this cruise because of the sailing dates and price. I have been on 7 past cruises, including 1 with Royal Caribbean and this was by far my worst experience. Our interior stateroom was the size of a large walk in closet. Shower was so tiny that it was very difficult to turn around, the water pressure was excellent however. There was a nearly constant sewer smell in the bathroom and hallway as well as water gurgling in the toilet and shower drain. Multiple areas of visible mold on the carpet in some hallways, luckily not ours, moldy smell as well. It was apparent that some toilets have overflowed and soaked the carpet leading to mold growth which can be very dangerous to inhale. The toilet often needed to be flushed multiple times to even get just toilet paper to go down. We never met our room steward, no towel animals, this isn't a big deal to me however but everyone else in our group each had them. They did a great job of cleaning up the cabin and replacing towels etc Food was just meh! The best food was in the main dining room, but even it was just OK. The Windjammer buffet just wasn't good at all, there was a Johnny Rockets cafe but they charge $6.95 just to walk in the place so we didn't go. The only option for late night dining was pizza and nothing else, it got real old. They could have at least kept the ice cream machine open. Our server in the dining room Nower was exceptional even when some in our party had special requests. The bartenders tended to ignore you as long as possible unless you tip more than the 18% automatically added gratuity. I had purchased a drink package and had a chance to use it quite a bit so I tried out several bars and bartenders. Alberto who frequently worked in the Boleros lounge was my favorite, always attentive and friendly. Read Less

The cruise ship was big and for the most part it is a nice ship. A lot to do and the food was okay. The shopping on the ship was good, but in comparison the prices were much higher than at many ports. The pools were really crowded; actually too crowded so I didn't get into the water. it just looked germie to me. The shopping at the ports were great, but the shopping coordinator "Kim" was too self centered on the stores where she was getting her kick backs from. It was clear in her presentation and clear when you were shopping. It was like she stayed in those stores where she would get the highest kick back to count the number of people or keep a tab on the number of people from our cruise boat to count her money. As a matter of fact, when we were at our second port, we were shopping she came in spoke briefly then when straight to the back of the store with the owner as if she was picking up her "Mafia" money. There are much nicer stores with better deals she NEVER talked about and most of the stores she recommended were over priced so explore on your own. The customer service desk was down right AWEFUL! Don't have a problem or you'll be sucked into the dreadful hole of despair. Half of the time the computers weren't working; the line was growing and growing and growing and when a manager was called out; they never showed up as if they were hiding from the customers. Last I have to mention about the departing process off the boat. Customs was good and smooth, but the young millennials working the departure groups had no type of organization skills. They just set up a table, didn't tell anyone they were there, and no instruction unless you asked. Then to add insult to injury, they just told you to take the elevator up to the 5th floor and depart...DEPART FROM WHERE????? The lines were so long you didn't want to get confused on exactly where you should go. So you ask another person and the same stupid remark. I was soooooo glad to get of that darn ship I could have kissed the ground. Really think before you go on this cruise ship. Read Less

We chose this ship because of the size and variety of neighborhoods. It was me(49) and my daughter (18) CABIN: We had a Boardwalk balcony cabin which was great. Deck 11 cabin 11703. The room was perfect for two guest, clean and great people watching. Room steward was very good. The only thing I would suggest for the cabin is bring removeable commando hooks, clock and a charger strip to plug into one outlet so you can charge many things at once. DINING: we did my time dining. Though I booked all the reservations before I left for the cruise, there was always confusion every night. It was if this was there first time with my time dining. Each night was disorganized, we grew to just expect it, which is kind of sad. Especially since we are Dimand Plus members. The food itself was ok, not good. But we are fine with that. We really don't fine that a cruise is about the food. Service in the dining room was hit or miss. Not like years ago when they were very attentive. Some nights I waited over 27 minutes to get a drink order and up to 40 minutes to take our meal order. It made it difficult to make shows on time, not knowing what kind of service you will get each night. Stick to designated dining time, 5:30 or 8pm if you want consistency, ( I think, it might be just has disorganized) SHIP: Very nice and clean. Lots to see and do. Not once did it ever feel crowded. ENTERTAINMENT: great shows, not a fan of Cats, but that is a personal preference. One thing that was really upsetting is that they would but game shows and other activities in venues that could only hold a few number of people, so you couldn't come in and watch or participate. This ship use to have a large lounge which they now turned into a restaurant. SERVICE: Overall, this ship is lacking in service. The all inclusive drink packages have slowed service at the bars and lounges. Rather than providing more bartenders they just have people wait 20/30 minutes. They have a attitude of " too bad, I don't care if you wait an hour" and they let you know it. DIAMNOND PLUS: I have taken over 25, maybe 30 Royal cruises and you would think that would mean something. At one time it did...we were welcomed aboard with welcome back, or addressed by our names when attending different things. Even service staff would acknowledge us and our commitment to Royal. Not once did this happen and there are no perks to being a Diamond Plus level. We use to have preferred seating at shows, at the pool and other perks. No longer. Unfortunately there is no more reason to be loyal to this one cruise line. DAUGHTERS REVIEW: 18 year old. They needed to have more events for the 18 to 20 year old group. This is a lost age group. No teen club and no adult drinking. Read Less

Chose this trip because people we travel with wanted to try a large ship. 1. Embarkation was quick and smooth. (We are Diamond Plus so it is easier on us now.) 2. It is a big ship and had good entertainment, but we truly like the smaller ships with fewer people better. 3. Our cabin was fine. We spent less time on our balcony this trip due to the windy weather, but everything was clean and in good order. 4. The food was just a little better than average for the most part. Chops (a specialty restaurant) was excellent! We didn't care for the Windjammer since the food seemed to be scattered all over the place, not really organized and not as good as we remember from smaller ships. We ate in restaurants most of the time, which we liked better. 3. The service was excellent. Our cabin attendant always had everything done and was wonderful about getting something we needed. In the dining room our waiters were right there for our every need and if we had a show scheduled, they made sure we were served in plenty of time to make it. 4. Entertainment was very good. We really enjoyed the ice show and CATS was of Broadway calibre. 5. We did personal tours to see an overview of the islands since we prefer a fewer number of people than those tours on the big busses provided by RCCL. Good weather and good tour guides made for good days. We will cruise again with RCCL, but have chosen a smaller ship for our next cruise. Read Less

Food service was terrible in the Main buffet (Windjammer) and Chops. Winjammer is too small for the number of guests served. Always out of basics like silverware! This was a daily experience. Chops service was the worst I have ever experienced on a cruise ship. Steaks were undercooked. Sent back twice. Sides were cold. After asking three times for a glass of wine I finally went to a bar outside the restaurant to get wine and brought it back to the table. This is a Speciality Restaurant with a $42 up charge! Very poor dining experience. Managers response was "We are busy". It is always busy in this restaurant so avoid it if you cruise on Oasis. Entertainment was excellent. Especially enjoyed the Ice Show and the second theatre show, Come Fly With Me. Also performed Cats but too lg for a cruise. At intermission, 1/3 of the guests left and did not return. Weather prohibited the Aqua show from performing. The Oasis of the Seas is beautiful and well maintained. Read Less

We usually cruise every year with friends. We all shared the same complaints on this one. The staterooms were not up to par as we all found dirty, stained carpets and sofas. The food was good but not up to par with previous cruises. The service was very good. The shows were excellent with the exception of "Cats" during which many of us walked our both before and during intermission. The other shows were great with exception of the ugly, rediculous tattoos on the female performers. The Comedy Show was very good but a lot less use of obscenities would have made it even more enjoyable. I don't care if you're 18 or 80, no one needs to hear gutter talk! The ports are the same old ones we've all been to in the past so no real excitement there. The Oasis is such a tall ship that any wind of 20 miles per hour or more will result in considerable rocking and rolling. Many folks became quite sea sick. Read Less

We chose this ship because we were in Port Canaveral and the port is not as crowded as Miami or Ft. Lauderdale. Getting on and off the ship was quick and efficient. Getting around the ship, though was a different matter. Waiting in lines is necessary for everything even if you have reservations. I give them A for the outstanding entertainment, and the skill and talent of the performers and the shows. I rate them D for the necessary waiting in line and having to make reservations in advance or risk waiting in line in hopes of getting an unclaimed seat at the last minute. All this contributes to the nasty behaviors that can sometimes afflict humans when the are overcrowded, Our balcony cabin was clean and adequate for the 2 of us. Since we prefer to eat early. the last dinner assignment did not fit our preferences so we ate at the Windjammer and fought the crowds for a table. We did a back to back cruise, and the complimentary lunch between sailing dates was delicious at Giovannie's. Due to their generous discounts we ate their twice more during our cruise. for a pleasant, relaxing meal with the attention and service from Salah, and Russel that was lacking in other eating areas. We sailed on the Oasis of the Seas 7 nights - March 5-12, 2017. We flew into Orlando Airport the night before and made arrangements with the GoPortCanaveral for their Fly/Snooze/Cruise package where they pick you up from the airport, take you to a local hotel, shuttle you to Port Canaveral for the cruise, and shuttle you back to the airport for 1 reasonable fee. We stayed at the LaQuinta which was not updated inside or as clean as it should have been. But it was a safe place to stay and served our needs. Boarding the ship was easy. The baggage handlers took our luggage when we arrived at the port to take to our rooms. Once inside the port you will stop at one of the 'check-in stations', depending on what floor you have been pre-assigned, and submit the credit card you will use for all charges you incur aboard ship. They'll take your photo for your seapass card purposes. You will use this seapass card for everything on the ship (your stateroom key, boarding, going off the ship for the island stops, purchases, getting into the shows on the ship, etc.) I recommend you take a photo of your seapass card (front & back) when you receive it, just to keep in case you are one of the few who happen to lose it on an island stop. The photo you took of your seapass card may help you get back on board ship, if you happen to lose it. As soon as you board, take your carry-on to your room and then go have lunch. Free breakfast (until 10:30am), lunch (until 3:30pm) dinner (I believe starts at 5:30pm) is available at the Windjammer Restaurant (Flr 16) or the Park Cafe (Flr 8). Windjammer is buffet style and I recommend as soon as you enter, grab a pre-wrapped silverware/napkin bundle for each of you and look for a spare table..set your silverware down to hold your table, to go find food you want to eat!.....tables fill up fast. Their soups are great and a nice variety of both hot & cold foods, make your own salads, etc. for lunch. The Windjammer is also open for dinner if you do not choose to east at the Dining Room. I recommend eating in the Dining Room (Flr 5, 4, 3) each night for their gourmet food. There are chef recommended specials for each night, as well as standard choices for each day if you don't want to try something new. The Escargot is fantastic. The presentation of the food and quality is great. Lobster Tail dinners are on Thursday night. The Park Cafe (lunch) is make-your-own-salad, pre-made sandwiches, fruit cups and hot roast beef specialty sandwiches with au jus (wonderful)! Also they have fresh bakery items to choose from with 2 choices of soup of the day. The Solarium Cafe (Flr 15) has a healthy choices menu for breakfast (turkey sausage, etc.) Free 24-hr pizza is available on Deck 5 at Sorento's pizza.. I didn't care much for the thin crust pizza ..they only offered cheese/ cheese & pepperoni/ hawaiian. They serve it by the slice. Free mini sandwiches/cookies also are available on Deck 5 at the Promenade Cafe. If you happen to miss breakfast cut-off, or lunch cut-off time, or even dinner cut-off time, you can always get pizza or mini-sandwiches on Deck 5 at either of these two cafes. There are 2 formal nights during the 7 night cruise. You can choose to wear fancy & formal or a regular dress. Some people wear sequins & tuxes...we chose not to dress up fancy but wore dress & dress pants/shirt. The rest of the nights were casual dress in the dining room. The other free restaurants are always casual. There are specialty restaurants located on other floors of the ship where you will be charged for the meals....these are top of the line gourmet food (steaks, Italian, or Izumi Restaurant for sushi specialties. However, the free dining places offered (that is included in your cruise price) are a great choice if you don't want to spend extra money on dining. You can buy a soda package, mixed drink/beer packages (pretty costly). However, in each of the cafes/restaurants, you'll get free ice tea, lemonade, ice water, Windjammer has sometimes flavored water (pre-poured in glasses)...help yourself at the buffet. Pack your own drink mug and you can save money by filling your own drink mug with tea/lemonade/water, etc. The bar drinks are expensive. The waiters around the pool are pushing daily drink specials. You charge these drinks to your seapass card and the waiter runs it through his credit card machine and your sign the receipt. Please look closely at the receipt because each drink includes its own gratuity already added to your purchase. Some people didn't look at their receipt and notice this, and tipped the waiter again on top of the gratuity that was already included. There are at 4 swimming pools on Deck 15. One is designated a kids pool. I recommend you bring an old t-shirt from home and put it on the back of a deck chair where you want to lay out, it helps you to remember where your chairs are and so someone else doesn't take your chairs when you leave shortly to have lunch. Pool towels are available on Deck 15. There are 3 hot tubs inside the Solarium Flr 15, and 3-4 more along side the swimming pools. The water was not as hot as I like but it was nice. The live entertainment shows in the Opal Theatre were very good. I recommend you book your shows before you leave for the cruise (seats fill up fast). We saw the Broadway play "Cats" (offered 3 shows during cruise), "Come Fly With Me" (2 shows during cruise) and a Headliner show (2 times during cruise). The headliner (Las Vegas entertainer... Mr. Tilman) was an excellent show (great music, comedy, great entertainment!). There is free zip-lining on the ship (first come first serve basis), rock climbing wall, ice skating, wave runner, basketball courts, putt-putt golf. There is a daily newsletter placed in your room. Make sure you read it before the day begins. There are so many little mini-shows, Dreamworks characters parade at various locations/times..you don't want to miss special events. Some of the bars have live entertainment, party music, special mini-shows in the Comedy Club, Jazz on 4, so much entertainment, karaoke, etc. For those who get a little seasick, stop by the Front Desk and ask them for some seasick pills...they'll give you a packet or two rather than buying it (charging to seapass card) in their drugstore. The casino on Deck 4 is ok...didn't pay out very well for me. Make sure you put your seapass card in the slot machines while you play, to earn points. If you earn 2400 points during your cruise, you will win a free cruise. They also offer bingo (pricey to play game) but you could win cash and/or a cruise. Our cabin room was always well kept and freshly made-up, towels replaced as you needed. When you leave your room for a little bit and want it made up, put the little card they supply (behind inside of your door) that states "make-up the room"in your door key slot, or if you want privacy, put the little card in your door slot (keyhole) that says, "do not disturb", and they won't freshen your room or knock to ask. The room attendants are very courteous (even remember your name) and helpful and if you forget any small item (shower cap, etc.), they'll get it for you. We asked for an extra pillow and it was taken care of immediately. The pillows are a bit small so I used 3 pillows. The easiest way to get across the ship was to go up to Deck 15 and walk across the pool deck to get to the other side and go down those elevators to the floor you want. You can also cut across the ship on Deck 5 (Promenade). There is a small smoking section on Deck 15. There is also a Spa/Beauty Salon on Deck 8. They offer many things besides massages, facials.....teeth whitening, skin treatments, etc., (pricey). However, on the last day of the cruise, the Spa offers a discounted massage/facial package. If you are celebrating a birthday or anniversary during your cruise, make sure you tell them when you book, and in the formal dining room at dinner, you will be serenaded by the waiters during your dinner with a special slice of cake. The ships photographers take your photos throughout the cruise (during formal dinners, meet & greet with characters, as you exit ship for island stops, etc. They create a personalized photo book organized by room # and you can buy these photos (pricey). We used our iphones and took our own photos to save money. You can also book excursions (booth is on Deck 5/Promenade). They offer many varieties of excursions on the island stops. We ended up booking a 'swim with the sea lions' on St.Thomas...$140 each person. They say to book excursions early (before your cruise....you can book on their website) or on the first day or 2 of your cruise, because they say they sell out fast. Bahamas island stop - walk off the ship directly to shopping area. You will encounter a lot of vendors offering cab rides, scooter rentals, horse/carriage rides...all coming at you at once. Just walk through the and directly into the main street shopping stores/restaurants. St. Thomas - once you disembark the ship, you will need to take a 'cab' to the downtown shopping area. The cost is $4/person each way. Their cabs look like a F150 trucks with rows of seats built on to it. St.Thomas is the biggest of the 3 island stops for shopping. Royal Caribbean promotes big time, to shop at the stores they suggest. If you are going to buy any jewelry, cameras, binoculars, watches, etc., I would recommend you buy it in St.Thomas. St.Maarten - once you disembark the ship, you will need to take a water taxi to the island ($8 each) roundtrip. The beach right where you are dropped off by the water taxi is really nice. Different vendors will rent you 2 chairs with an umbrella for $15 (with free wifi)... some will throw in 2 beers & 2 sodas for an additional $10. Just walk along Boardwalk street the length of the beach and pick a beach spot you like. The vendors will approach you with their chair rental sales pitch. Also, there are vendors walking on the beach asking you to buy their wares while you are sunbathing. There is a magical place to visit if you are a Star Wars fan. Just 1 block in from the beach on Front Street is "That Yoda Guy" Movie Exhibit & shop. Artist Nick Maley who assembled Yoda for Star Wars, has movie memorabelia (Darth Vader, relics from Terminator, Men in Black and has the actual face lifecasts from Harrison Ford, Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Jack Nicholson...much much more movie relics. $10 entry fee (well worth it) but if you buy any signed movie memorabelia worth $40, you get free entrance to museum. Disembark cruise - If you can carry your luggage yourself, I recommend doing the self-assist disembark process, where you walk off the ship, carrying your own luggage if you have an early flight home (before noon). They allow you to disembark yourself from 6:45am to 7:45am only. If you do not choose self-assist, then you will leave your packed suitcases (not carry-on) outside your stateroom, the night before your departure (before 11:00pm). The morning of your departure, you will be notified where to assemble, and what time you can begin disembarking the ship. Your stateroom attendant will give you your disembark tags with your disembark # printed on it, the night before. When you disembark ship at the time you are given, you will locate your own luggage in the holding area of dock, and then proceed to customs. The Oasis is the biggest ship and well maintained. The service is exceptional. Read Less

My Travel agent suggested this cruise because of price, location and dates. We enjoyed the ship and all of it's wonderful areas like Central Park, the American Icon, the Ice Show and the general atmosphere on the boat. Our dining experience was great and my granddaughters were introduced to varieties of new food, which was fun for us. We did a couple of excursions. the most favorite was the Dolphin Encounter. Our stateroom attendant made our room inviting and surprised s with the towel animals which was a hit. Our only criticism is our departure procedure.Travel agent suggested this cruise for the location and $$$. The Oasis offered something different and provided my daughter and granddaughters the WOW factor of their first cruise. The Central Park area was incredible and something I had not seen before. I thought the kids area with the Merry-go-round and shops were great for families with small children. The only thing that was disappointing was the commotion we had trying to locate our contracted taxi service With the huge number of people coming and going, and the limited and congested roads, he was unable to pick us up in the normal pick-up spot and requested us to FIND him in the drop off area. That ended our cruise on a sour note. We probably moved from one side to the other of the pick-up - drop-off terminal (in a wheelchair) at least six times and over 30+ minutes, which gave us a VERY limited time at the airport. Suggest a larger, more spread out area when you have that many people getting off and then boarding the same ship from the same area......WAY TOO CONGESTED.. Read Less

we went on this cruise with family members who have went with royal Caribbean in the past and suggested this cruise line. the ship was beautiful. we had an inside cabin and it was adequate, similar to any hotel room. the cabin attendant was awesome, every time we left the room he would come in and freshen it up. the food in the main dining room was very good and the wait staff was very good, even remembering what type of roll you liked by the second day. the food in the buffet was good, especially breakfast. we ate at Chops one night and was disappointed with the service as well as the steak, asked for medium rare and it came medium well, didn't have time to re-order because it took an hour to get our food and we needed to go to a show so i just ate it, thought the food in the main dinning area was better and it was free! the entertainment was good, went to Cats, my wife enjoyed it, i left, i guess im not a big fan. the other entertainment like the ice skating show and the water show were awesome and the main headliner put on a great show. We enjoyed the ports of calls and did an excursions on all the stops, Nassau, St Thomas, and St Marteen, and it was easy to get on and off the ship. wasnt as impressed with Nassau, we couldn't walk 10 feet and someone was wanting to sell us something or take us somewhere. St Thomas and St Marteen were beautiful and the people were so nice. on St Thomas we ended the excursion on Magens bay and you wont find a more beautiful place on earth. on St Marteen we did the sea treck and thought it was an awesome experience. We would definitely go on another cruise and the Oasis of the Sea was awesome! Read Less

Wanted to experience the BIG ship. It did not disappoint. We had a great time with everything. Our Cabin (10728/Aft) was awesome and our cabin steward (Romel) was great. The ship was in good shape. We were told not to try and do everything, just enjoy the ship, and that is what we did. We probably didn't see or do everything, but we can say that what we did was awesome. Central Park and the Boardwalk are really cool and nice places to just hang out at. Lots of activities to do each and every day. The entertainment was really good. We did enjoy CATS, the headliner, Come fly with me and the late night comedian. The Aqua show was really good, although it would have been better at night. It was a daytime show because of weather/wind conditions through out the cruise. Our only issue was with MTD (My Time Dinning). We made reservations before for our specific time and that was not an issue. Our only issue was that we never had the same table/waiter any night even though we requested that. Was told that was not possible. Strange since others were able to make their requests and they did get them. Overall food was good in the dinning rooms. Service overall was good. Ernesto in Sabor was great and lots of fun. We had the drink package, and it seemed that bartenders had a so so attitude with folks with drink packages and that was a little bit of a downer. Overall a great cruise and would do it again. The ship is BIG. We did like all the options that this ship offered. We still like the other smaller ships too, especially as we love the AFT cabins. Would sail on the this ship again. Read Less

we were on deck ten all the way forward ( room 500 ) this room extended well beyond the normal length by a good 7 feet or so, would be a great play area for kids, huge window at a slope facing the front of the ship. We would like to have seen more daytime activities. It seemed like there were more sales events than entertainment during the daytime. Evening shows were great. I booked ours online so we wouldn't miss any. Guest services were also great to work with, even though we had no major problems our little ones were taken care of quickly. Service in the dining room was excellent our waiters learned our likes and had my wine and my husbands coffee waiting for us. One of our favorite things to do on this cruise was the bubbles luncheon. which entailed a complete galley tour, all three levels which was done in smaller groups accompanied by a chef. Then on to a champayne luncheon prepared by the chefs of the steakhouse. this tour rates a 10+++ Read Less

This was our first cruise other than Disney. I have always stuck with Disney for the family friendly atmosphere and was afraid I would not get that with another cruise line. The boat itself is large yet very manageable. I never experienced crowds and it felt less crowded then the Disney ships. The elevators were also quick and rarely did you have to wait. Our room was midship on the sixth floor and was a great location. We were a quick walk to the boardwalk with a set of stairs leading right to the promenade. The promenade was a quick way to get from the front to the back of the ship. My biggest worry was the type of people we would encounter as we have a six year old. This turned out not to be an issue. While it seemed like everyone always had a drink their hand, I never saw anyone drunk. There were two occasions where an older lady swore in conversation but apologized right away once she realized our daughter was in the elevator. The other was on older man dropping f-bombs in the security line on the ship because he was upset at how far he had to walked. We never had to worry about this on Disney but I suppose it could have still happened. As far as things for kids to do there were plenty and my daughter seemed to have as much fun as she did on Disney. While there are no slides or aquaduck, she still enjoyed the splash area and pool. I found we were actually able to enjoy the pool more. Despite the size of the ship, we always found a chair to sit in and you could actually swim in the pool unlike Disney. Their many options for breakfast and lunch also rivalled Disney. While the food wasn't great, it was nice to have options such as Breakfast at Johnny Rockets or a relaxing breakfast in central park. Disney does win hands down for food. While the food on the Oasis is not bad, it just does not come close to Disney. I missed being able to eat endless amounts of crab legs or bowels of fresh strawberries/ raspberries. I also missed rotating dining rooms every night. One area that surprised me was the dining staff on Oasis. They actually surpassed service over Disney which I did not think was going to be possible. The food was always much quicker to come out as well. All the crew we experienced were vey friendly and I found they had a much better grasp of the English language then the crew of Disney. As far as the kids clubs on board, my daughter had just as much fun as she did on the Disney ships. It does not look as appealing as Disney but it did the job and she had fun. One area Disney wins hands down is maintaining the ship in pristine condition. The Oasis was starting to look dated. Burnt out lights, grubby carpet. Paint was beginning to wear in parts of the pool. Our room also had a large chip taken out of the sink and the toilet bowl had black marks that were permanent. The couch also looked dirty and stained. This was not the case with Disney where everything always appeared perfect and new. Disney also had far better beds and pillows. Maybe it was because I had a cheaper inside room, but the bed and pillows were by far the worst I have ever experienced in a hotel. I would compare them to someones spare bedroom at a house. Oddly enough the towel animals were much better then Disney, but we my have just got lucky with our stateroom attendant. I also missed the theatre shows on Disney. Cats is just so old and in my opinion boring. They also stated they had 3d movies on board, however the only movie theatre I noticed was a very small one in the kids club area. I never once saw any movies playing during our trip. Overall given it was a lot cheaper then Disney I have no real complaints and would probably sail with them again. Read Less

Ship and service were all very good - for our first and sadly only experience (due to my husbands health) this was an amazing experience, which we will never forget. The Cats show was amazing - it was certainly the highlight of my on board stay, while we expected a good show the performances and theatre surpassed expectations. It was a combination of a west end show, while being at home and on holiday all rolled into one. However the second theatre show did not fail to impress either (although the costumes did not appear to be the same quality as either Cats or the ice show). While the holiday was and very expensive (did not expect to have to pay gratuities for a 10yr old) it was a once in a lifetime experience so we can only say a huge thank you to all the staff, particularly our room assistant and waiting staff who made our stay so pleasurable. They appeared to work long hours, but always with a smile and a willingness to assist very promptly with question or trouble. Thank you all Read Less

This was my first cruise and I couldn't be happier. The entertainment was first class! The dining was varied and delicious. At the ports we chose to do tours that showed us an overview of the island since we had never been to any of them. St. Thomas was our favorite. Everyone was very accommodating and friendly. I didn't get to take advantage of the night life because of very full and enjoying days. Maybe next time I'll rest a bit more and stay up later. I especially enjoyed Johnny Rockets cooked to order breakfast over the buffets. Everything was very clean and tidy. I would have liked to go to the casino but the non smoking side was still very smokey and I couldn't stay in there but a few minutes. I did hear others complain of this also. But that saved me money! Not sure when I will be able to go again but Royal Carribean would be my choice. Read Less

We have travelled frequently on RCCL and by far, Oasis of the Seas is one of our favorites. From your stateroom cleanliness and attendant responsiveness to the phenomenal variety of activities and venues, you will always find something new about this ship and her staff. Loved the Captain! So calm and informative. the Casino hosts are terrific and the variety of machines and tables are top notch. Each evening, you have a tremendous number of shows, music, comedy, ice skating, and dining opportunities to appeal to every interest and palate. The ports of call are limited by the size of the ship and the port accommodations, yet they have selected Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Maarten as outstanding stops on their eastern route. Finally, you will be very impressed with the pleasantness and professionalism of the staff throughout the ship. They are all top notch. In short, choose the Oasis of the Seas as your next cruise opportunity. Read Less

Chose this cruise since my cabin mate signed on to cruise with the MS Cruisers! 3rd cruise overall, but first RCCL cruise and I wasn't disappointed! the ONLY downside to this entire adventure was the high wind we experienced on board most days and in ports! According to multiple cruisers and staff on board it was highly unusual....and we had quick rain showers in each port, alas you can't control mother nature.....but the service, activities, shopping, food, staff were simply amazing!!! Loved the port maps provided for shopping in each Cruise Compass, be careful not to overbook yourself! so much to do but easy to overlap if you're not careful! Our cabin steward was AMAZING! and the on board shopping specials were fantastic! VERY happy with the drink package! was stress-FREE to enjoy the cruise without having to worry about the tab at the end of the cruise! and if you like PICTURES, be SURE to prepurchase a picture package, makes it easy at the end! Already looking to book again! Read Less

First time on the Oasis class, been on most of the other classes. It takes a little time to get use to the lay out. Be ready to do a lot of walking. Another is you need to reserve all of your entertainment in advance, which we did. Disappointed in the small size of studio B (usually you do not need reservations for here) for the large number of people on board. On the smaller classes of ship you could probably fit another 75 people in it. So any entertainment in Studio B get there early for seats. Pool area enterainment- will different then the smaller classes of ships. Bellyflop and sexy man will be in the aqua theater. It is hard to see the pool band when they are playing because of the layout and the dance pool deck is very small. Main Shows-awesome Eating- a lot of options don't just think of Windjammer and main dinning hall as only choices Windjammer can get backed up in the morning, use Wipe Out Cafe on Sports decks for quick and easily breakfast and lunch. Park Side Cafe- awesome beef sandwiches and salads Everyone of the Staff on the Oasis was awesome Great Job done Shout out to Miss Love Stateroom Attendant and Dinning staff Denzil, his assistant and bar server Nassau- took cab over to Atlantis walked on our own through it and water taxi back. I believe it was $ 4 p/p one way St Thomas - did Fast Cat 2 Island Snorkeling and Beach- really nice time. Once they started making the rum punch there was not a empty glass on board they just kept filling you back up. The staff was great. St Mararten - you can pick up the water taxis over to the beach within the port terminal I believe it was $ 8 p/p round trip. You can see the beach right from the ship. 2 Chairs and Umbrella was $12. Beer anywhere from $ 1.50 and up. A lot of shops and resturants along the beach. For a beach day do this one Read Less

Our embarkation and disembarkation experience for our trip with Oasis of the Seas from Port Canaveral was much smoother than from Fort Lauderdale. The Oasis of the seas is a very classy and luxiurios cruise ship which, eventhough the large amount of passengers, still handles and treats them with great attention and detail. Cabins are well attended by service minded attendants who remembers your name from day one. Dining room staff ready to serve and make your dining experience a pleasant one. Different interesting activities and shows during day and night. Every member of staff and personal, all over the ship, is eager to assist in all your needs. We ware already planning our next cruise for September 2017 on the sister ship "Allure of the Seas". Royal Caribbean is our cruise line of choice. We wanted to be within a reasonable driving distance from NC. Wanted to experience this larger ship. With the large amount of passengers, we were expecting a long embarkation. Pleasantly surprised as to how well this was accomplished. The same surprise was for the disembarkation. Both went very well. Once on board, we stopped at the information desk to obtain a deck plan and began to familiarize ourselves with the ship. This takes a bit of studying as the ship is so large. Even with the huge amount of passengers, we did not feel overwhelmed. Had requested a salt free diet when booking the trip. This was not a problem. After the 1st dinner the head waiter would bring us the menu for the following day and we could make our selections & the next days food would be prepared with no salt. Didn't take any shore excursions. Stayed on the ship in Nassau as we have been there a few times and wanted to explore more of the ship. In St. Thomas took a taxi to Coki beach and snorkeled. Beach is smaller than Magen's Bay but the snorkeling was much better. In St. Maarten took a taxi to Orient Beach. It was more difficult to snorkel because of the rough sea. The seas on the ship were rough for a few evenings so the Aqua show couldn't happen until the last day at sea. The CATS performance was astounding as the seas were quite rough. The Headliner show was great. The Ice Show and Aerial Show were very entertaining. It is a wonder how these performers and proceed with these show on rough seas. There was always something to keep you busy if you wanted to be busy. The Central Park & Boardwalk area of the ship is lovely, except when it rained but Central Park had umbrellas for your use. This trip was even more memorable because of the exceptional service provided by our Head Waiter, Serdar Erden. He went above and beyond to make sure everyone in our group was taken care of. The entertainment was excellent as always of Royal Caribbean cruises. Chester in the Schooner Bar did a great job every night. He is extreamly talented and entertaining. We went there almost every night to enjoy his piano stylings. The Zipline was a cool experience onboard as well. I just wish they would still offer Starbucks as part of the refreshment package. They offer an card for Seattle's Best now but took Starbucks off the refreshment package. I like Starbucks better. Even if they would offer the same type of card as they do Seattle's best, I would be happy. Read Less

Believe the negative reviews. I have been cruising for over 20 years. I have been on bigger ships and smaller ships. Booked this cruise as a last minute getaway and wish I would not have. This ship needs to be dry docked and majorly refurbished. The only thing I can say positive is that the ship staff are all great. The only reason I didn't give this trip a terrible rating and just a poor. I feel bad that they have to work on a ship that gets so much bad press. Our stateroom beds were uncomfortable. The pillows were flat like pancakes.....I had to stack bathroom towels under my pillows. Our bathrooms had clogged drains and overflowed into the carpeted stateroom. Carpet throughout the entire ship is old and stained. Flickering electricity throughout the ship. I'm not one to overly criticize cruise ship food. I don't go with high expectations because of the mass quantity that they have to prepare. With that said, I would say the food on Carnival ships are way better. I understand that weather is beyond anyone's control....we had horrible winds...that was unfortunate. With as much money that this company makes it would be nice if they built a dock at their private island, coco cay. Our private island stop got cancelled because the winds/waves made it too dangerous to run the tender boats. Read Less
