We wanted to go thru the Panama Canal from Miami to Los Angeles. We are diamond plus level cruisers and are supposed to be admitted to the concierge's lounge. We were forced to go to the diamond lounge or overflow lounge because they had too many pinnacles. This is the first time that we were ever excluded from this lounge. How to ruin a great ship, add lots of dinning rooms, charge extra for most, add more reservations, provide lousy service, call it dynamic dinning.
Be aware menus repeat after only a few days in the complimentary dining rooms.
Entertainment, Mamma Mia, reservation was not available when we finally got out of the dining room, so we missed that performance. The other two main shows were not ...

First, like I usually do, I book a motel a day before the cruise (just to insure no timing problems). So I booked this cruise from Galveston and then a motel there. We arrived at the Port of Galveston in plenty of time to be greeted by piles of suitcases and bewildered passengers with no guidance from staff. Took over an hour to get to the front desk to check in and the check in staff had no idea what to do with our residence cards or UK ESTA travel documents, finally after 20 mins we got our Sea Pass cards and headed to the ship.

Good -Great Cruise Critic's to hang out with. 14 day cruise. Time to relax. No kids on board, they were in school.
Bad -Worst room steward we have ever had. He was unhappy, complained about his job to me each time I spoke to him. Never clean the room till after lunch. All other cruise critic's said they had a good room steward. Also Food was bad, not good at all. They need a new chef.

Our Brilliance of the Seas was "below average", at best. On the plus side, the crew and entertainment were very good. The two alternative restaurants, Chops & Portofino were excellent in all respects. (there is an extra charge.That's about it!
