Great Panama Canal Cruise on Jewel

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Jewel of the Seas

We recently returned from 14 great days on Jewel, cruising from San juan to San diego celebrating our wedding anniversary. First a little about ourselves - this was our 8th RCI cruise, 11th in total. We are both in our early 40's. We stayed in the hilton caribe the night before the cruise which worked out fine - around $15 to the ship in a cab. Embarkation was very easy with no line at the ...

We went on transatlantic cruise from NJ to Barcelona and it was perfect. It was my 31st cruise, 9th on RCl. Don’t believe bad reviews, it is amazing ship. If you are looking for traditional dining, you will be disappointed, but you are adventurous and willing to try different restaurants, you will love it. The variety of choices for dinner is excellent. In 11 days we did not have a bad meal, no ...

This ship was exciting and had so many activities that we could not do them all. The service was excellent in all areas and the dining options were enjoyable . We never felt overwhelmed by too many people , including the embarkation, which went smoothly and quickly. The shows wee great and the lounge acts were varied and entertaining, particularly Joe Hollywood in the Schooner Bar. From ...

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Navigator of the Seas

My two 12 year old children and I went on a Navigator of the Seas cruise in late July. I have to admit that I have high standards in travel, and after reading some reviews on this website, I had wondered if we had made a mistake in booking the cruise. In fact, I called Royal Caribbean at the last minute to see if there was any way we could update to a suite or to "Gold" status just to avoid some ...

A month before we departed I got the email about a repo cruise to Panama. Because that was on the 'proverbial' Bucket List, I examined further. The cruise would leave Miami on a Wednesday and arrive in Colon Panama on a Saturday morning. I immediately booked the slot. For only $199.00 we got a beautiful balcony room. The cruise to Colon was windy but we were able to enjoy the Solarium, pretty much ...

Vision of the Seas - Fantastic Crew - Wonderful Atmosphere

My sister and I just completed a five day visit in San Diego and a 15 day Panama Canal cruise on board the Vision of the Seas. The only negative comment I can make is the terrible check in procedure at the San Diego pier. This has to be improved and upgraded to accommodate the travelling public. The check in was long and tedious and very tiring. Now with that said I only have praise for the ...

RCI , Royal Caribbean International Vision of the Seas Panama Canal April 2013 West to East (San Diego to Ft Lauderdale) Room 2072 (Senior Citizens , no children) Overall, a very rewarding experience, though it did not start off well. 1 , San Diego Terminal embarkation , major delays lasting over 3 hours standing in line (especially taxing on the feet and knees of senior citizens as ...

Absolutely the cleanest ship we ever sailed on. Entertainment from Colon to San Jaun Superb. All Latino and in Spanish as were shows. We have taken the Panama cruises a few times and keep going back. Hector Ruiz on the keyboard in Schooner Bar is always fantastic and gets the crowd up and dancing in the aisles. There was virtually no smoke on the ship - This was wonderful and the most smoke ...

Terrific Panama Canal Trip

This was our first 15 day trip. The time went by swiftly and smoothly. Boarding in Ft. Lauderdale was a breeze. We were about 30 minutes from terminal arrival to the swimming pool bar. That beats the 3 1/2 hour wait in Vancouver on our last trip. The ship was fine. Everything worked out. Got our early dining through the travel agency (Cruise Brothers, the best). Food was mostly excellent. ...

My wife and I have cruised several times before but never with RCI so we were interested to see how they compare with the likes of Celebrity, Cunard and Princess. Our conclusion afterwards was that "Indy" is a very impressive ship but it doesn't have quite the same overall feeling of elegance as Cunard or Celebrity. There again, RCI cruises seem to be cheaper so the old adage applies of getting ...
