Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Explorer of the Seas

I always cruise with Royal Caribbean, and have many times. Among the obvious reasons, such as itinerary, food, and service, my main reason is the entertainment. I believe this is the only line that has a Pub on every ship. I have had the great fortune to be on several cruises where Robbie McNay has been the Pub Entertainer. Robbie is amazing in that he has been performing for what seems like ...

An Amazing Time On A Nice Ship

We chose this cruise due to the itinerary. Although I live near San Francisco I had always wanted to sail under the Golden Gate Bridge on Cruise Ship. It was well worth the wait! We sailed with two other couples and had a terrific time. We thought the ports would be fun, and they were. We spent 4 nights in Seattle at an AirBnB prior to cruise. From Embarkation to Debarkation the entire ...

Best "local" cruise ever

Wanted USA cruise. Excellent close/quick cruise.. Short flight and quick trip to pier. Checked in and on board in less than 10 min. Departed and in taxi in less. Ship in "like new" condition. Excellent ports that allow touring on your own. Try Bouy for good food and beer while in Astoria. They have glass floor for viewing sea life. Also, great area out side for water viewing. For SF - ...

We had decided to do the seven-night Pacific coastal cruise since it visited ports that we have never on vacation. We came up and stayed in Seattle for two nights prior to the cruise and I would recommend this for anyone taking cruise out of Seattle as it allows you for a little bit more relaxing time before boarding the ship. On board the ship I had decided to upgrade the refreshment package ...

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary, but we were happy with so much more! Having come off of a very bad cruise experience with Celebrity, we were a bit hesitant to try Royal Caribbean (as we understand Celebrity is owned by them). That said - our experience with each cruise line was very different. On this cruise, there was a wide variety of entertainment, the food was very good, ...

Looked for a cruise to a location other than a beach. Pacific Northwest had stops in areas of the United States we have never seen so the itinerary was perfect. Seattle, Astoria Oregon, San Francisco and Victoria Canada. Explorer of The Seas is a wonderful ship. Although it shows a little ageing it is well maintained and very clean. The service was excellent, room attendant and wait staff ...

RCL has good reputation, have used before, and a group was going. The food in the main dining room was very good. The entertainment in the main theater was kind a hit or miss, Aa couple of shows were very good and have several shows lacked spark of high entertainment value. They were nearly always vacant Seats at the 8:30 show. The cabin Stewart was very attentive to my special-needs as a ...

We did this same cruise last year and enjoyed the itinerary. This year, we also enjoyed the itinerary. Some issues arose with the hard beds. The bed was so hard that we bought a 2" foam topper and the room steward was kind enough to put it on the bed for us. The food was good and there was plenty of it available. Lobster night was exceptionally great. So good that we each ate 2. Windjammer ...

Another Great RCCL Cruise

We chose this cruise because we had never sailed from the Pacific Northwest and wanted to give it a try. Additionally, we liked the stop in San Francisco and Victoria, BC. Everything on this cruise was great, but that's what we have come to expect on a Royal Caribbean cruise! We found the food to be excellent, again, as usual. When I hear people complain about the food I have to shake my ...

Great cruise, great staff, fun ports

We chose this cruise because we had some RCCL gift cards that we needed to use. We wanted to cruise from a west coast port to save time and money. We live near Sacramento and drove to Seattle. We are two retired adults, mid fifties, and cruised by ourselves on this trip (we often have friends/family with us). Our last RCCL cruise was in 2005ish on the Monarch, so it has been several years since we ...
