My Husband and I went on a Royal Caribbean " Serenade of the sea's" this time instead of the Carnivals we were on before ( Carnival Fascination and Carnival Conquest) Well we thought we would try a total different ship. We were very Disappointed and very Upset.. First the Bedrooms were very small, so was the bathrooms.. Showers? We laughed at. There were several large people on this ship, we ...
This is our third cruise all on RC. The other two were on the Freedom of the Seas and the Oasis of the Seas. We purposely wanted a "smaller" ship, so decided to try the The Serenade for my 50th Birthday. We from Northwest Florida to New Orleans. RC does not have a exclusive parking terminal in New Orleans, like Carnival Does. The share the Conference Center Parking. Unfortunately this caused an ...
To start off, the cruise itself was fantastic due to the itinerary (Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Mexico) and the weather throughout the cruise was perfect apart from the first day from New Orleans (quite cold)
There was a very wide range of services and facilities onboard, ranging from several food and beverage outlets to a climbing wall and cinema. Majority of the staff onboard were extremely ...
Port Parking, Embarkation, and Disembarking was a breeze.
We have cruised many times with RC, 2 Adults, 45. 2 Boys 7 and 12.
We ate dinner all but one night at the early seating. We did not have one night that our order was correct and that we were done within 1.5 hours. Slow and bad service that I had never experienced before.
We didn't get to stop at CocoCay due to weather, not RC's fault ...
Serenade of the Seas Cruise Review: December 22nd 2013
We are in our mid seventies and late sixties and live in Canada. This was our second RC cruise and our twentieth overall, mostly on Holland America and Princess. We select our cruises mainly on destinations and for interesting ports of origin. This was our first Xmas cruise and our second out of New Orleans.
We were pleasantly surprised ...
Drove to New Orleans from Birmingham for a seven-day cruise with six friends from around the country. All of us enjoyed it.
A few notes:
Embarkation: Very easy; we arrived Saturday at about noon and walked right onto the ship. By 1 p.m., all the staterooms were available for occupancy.
The rooms: The cabin was great, particularly because this time I was sailing alone. Plenty of room for ...
This was the largest ship we ever sailed on & despite having sailed frequently, was our first on Royal Caribbean.
We spent 3 days before we boarded the ship in New Orleans to put us in the vacation mood & it was wonderful.
The trip was booked by our travel agent & transfers back to the airport were prepaid. Royal Caribbean had no record of this!
First off their website was difficult to ...
The Navigator of the Seas is showing her age! Our cabin was missing the wood cap on the balcony railing and in the casino some of light strips were being held on with tie-wraps and tape. Carpet was worn and torn in several areas, the TV's must have been the original ones installed when the ship was built 11 years ago. The bathroom walls had rust breaking through the paint. I wish that I could ...
Spent three days in NOLA prior to cruise allowing us a vacation before the vacation and we had a wonderful time, there is so much to see and do there.
Checking in was fairly easy - although confusing as to which line we were supposed to go in. Sail away was cold and windy, weather really does come to play into enjoyment level, we were so excited to be cruising again but it was no fun being ...
I took the Navigator of the Seas out of New Orleans on Feb 2nd ( super bowl weekend) 2013. Flew in and cab took us to the pier with no problems.
Checked bags and took the trolley to French Quarter and walked back to the ship.
If you want to buy a couple of bottles of wine before getting on the ship walk one block over down Julia street. You can carry on 2 bottles.
We had room 6611 a inside ...
