We were originally scheduled to sail on this cruise on Jan 24 with 4 other couples. Our cabin was one of 150 or so that were cancelled at the last minute due to water pipe break/electrical failure in front of ship. This part was not well handled or well communicated by RCCL - we grade them a FAIL for this part (unrelated to this review, though). We flew home after waiting 6 hrs at the dock.

The state room was extremely clean, the staff were friendly & the ship was small. We were at sea for two days and the pool deck was extremely crowded. I enjoyed the dinner in the main dining room but some of the servers were somewhat rude. We booked the Serenade of the Seas for a cruise over Christmas It was a surprise for my mother in law and our 7 year old daughter. Overall we were pleased with the cruise. Dining in Reflections was hit or miss. Kids program was OK but not as good as Disney's. Hallways were hard to maneuver with a wheelchair when attendants were cleaning the cabins. We just returned from an extended-family (11 of us - 3 brothers in early 40's with 4 kids, 7 adults) Christmas cruise on Royal Caribbean's Serenade of the Seas.
We had 2 in their 60's, 4 in early 40's, 4 kids aged 8-14.

This was my 3rd cruise, the other two Carnival. I'm going to break this down into sections.
Parking: Horrible. Not enough spaces and no shuttle service to the docks like Carnival offers.
Embarkation / Debarkation - Fabulous, especially Debarkation. We were off the ship in 30 minutes and on the highway driving home! That is incredible.

Serenade of the Seas is a nice ship. The entertainment, food, crew, etc were all good. We tried three of the pay restaurants and liked them all. Our favorite was Giovanni's Table. Service and food were great. Chops was also very good. Rita's Cantina was a good lunch option to change up buffet eating. Also very inexpensive. Ten of us ate for about $30.
