First time cruiser - Grandeur of the Seas

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas

First, we live near Tampa so getting to the port and embarkation was a breeze. Valet park for the extra $15..totally worth it if you have several bags. The ship was nice, a bit outdated. Our Jr Suite was OK. The private balcony was a must. The room had small sitting area, fridge, hair dryer, 2 bathrobes, small TV, plenty of hangers and storage. This was on deck 8. Deck 9 has the pool, solarium, ...

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

We are experienced cruisers, but this was only our second time on a Royal Caribbean ship. Generally we cruise Celebrity, and as such were granted Diamond membership on the Radiance. Overall we enjoyed ourselves very much. Radiance is a beautiful ship, and in general I would rate it highly. We did experience a couple problems which, while we would not allow them to ruin our cruise, definitely had ...

Mariner/Mexican Rev in March - Cool! No, really, COOL!

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Mariner of the Seas

We did the Mexican Riviera 7-night on Royal Caribbean's Mariner of the Sea, 3/21/10 - 3/28/10. Very nice cruise and ports. However, if you're accustomed to Caribbean cruises, be aware that the Mexican Riviera is not like the Caribbean, especially in March! Bottom line: water isn't nearly as clear or warm as the Caribbean, and days at sea are definitely "cool" and likely to be not pool-worthy. ...

We said on Mariner of the Seas from 2/14/10 through 2/21/10. Embarked/Disembarked through Los Angeles, and the 7 day cruise sailed to the Mexican Riviera (Cabo, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta). We had sailed on 2 previous cruises, both on Princess (Alaska and the Baltics). We are a family of 4 (Mom/Dad/Daughter 11, Son 6). RESERVATION: Made reservation in November on a "Wow" sale, got a great fare on ...

Pick Another Ship if You Want Children to Enjoy the Trip

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Mariner of the Seas

This is our first review and we are contributing as we found the site very helpful in planning our own cruise vacations. Mariner is a beautiful ship but it was definitely not aimed at our demographic as we had repeatedly read on so many message boards. We arrived at San Pedro by town car service after staying the night in the La Quinta at LAX (BTW:as nice as any Hilton or Sheraton) Boarding ...

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

The worst cruise we have had except for Carnival out of 20 cruises. Con: Most passengers were rude, crude and unsociable. They would rather walk through you, or over you, rather than get out of the way, or even say excuse me! That happened over & over at the Windjammer, the elevator, and the evening sitting. The entertainment was a total amateur bust. The dancers were over-weight and clumsy, the ...

Above average, BUT there were some things that were STRIKING

We arrived LAX at 12:30, retrieved bags by 12:45, caught SUPER SHUTTLE, and were at the pier by 2:pm. Embarkation took all of 5 minutes (I think everybody else was aboard already.) The Mariner is a beautiful ship, and is easy to get around, alhough there is alot of ship to get around! FOOD: Plentiful and good variety and selection-particularly in WINDJAMMER. Because this is a popular venue, it ...

Will present review as pointers. 1 - We are Diamond members. 2 - Have sailed Radiance once before and loved it - thus one reason we chose this cruise. 3 - Activities were the worse I have ever experienced - wait, let me rephrase this - the activities were not bad, but the scheduling of such were done with very little thought to the passenger. One example would be bean tossing at 6 PM - another ...

RCL proceeds downhill

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Mariner of the Seas

I'll admit that the last several cruises on RCL owned ships were under the Celebrity flag, but I have been on several RCL ships in the past. The Mariner is a beautiful ship with an excellent staff. My focus in this review concerns the food that was available and those items that are no longer part of the normal RCL experience. The bathroom amenities included small bars of hotel soap and shampoo ...

Fun on Carnival

I took the 4 day cruise on the Carnival Paradise from Los Angeles to Catalina Island and Ensenada. Style: Festive atmosphere and fun people. Definitely oriented towards young people, singles, and those who like to party and have fun. Not overly refined passengers, but friendly. Food: Ok in the buffet, but not exciting or particularly varied (very good home made pizza, and mongolian buffet was ...
