Mariner Western Caribbean from Galveston

We just returned from our Royal Caribbean cruise on Mariner of the Seas. It is our understanding that Mariner will be leaving Galveston and going to Asia in two weeks and Navigator will be replacing it in Galveston. This is going to be a good change, and there are so many things that are alike on both ships, that there will still be the same care and concern for its passengers. We drove in ...

Arrived in Civi by train and made our way to the port bus that would deliver us to the ship. Embarkation was a 2-minute process and we were on our way to the ship. Apparently there were many noro-virus cases on the last sailing and cabins were not ready until 3:00. After Egypt, our cabin steward informed us that there we many cases on our floor so we increased our vigilance with hand washing ...

We sailed from Civitavechia/Rome on 15th September. Boarding quite painless, through check in less than 10 minutes. Went to our room and met our efficient, very friendly and attentive steward Abraham Lincoln from Trinidad. We had lunch at the Windjammer. The Windjammer for breakfast or lunch was something we did out of necessity. The quality of food was adequate (we enjoyed the omelette's) but the ...

The Mariner of the Seas 09.15.12 cruise to the Holy Land from Rome was a very disappointing experience. It was the worst of the five cruises we have sailed on. The ship was very dated with chipped and broken bits in the bathroom, faded dank smelling hallway carpets with stains and sticky tables and chairs in the Windjammer restaurant. The floors were sticky all the time in the 5th floor ...

If you are in any doubt as to whether to cruise Royal Caribbean in the Med from an Italian port please read this review, it will save you a lot of stress. I will explain in more detail later. Sailed from Civitavechia/Rome on 1st September. Boarding quite painless, through check in in less than 10 mins. Mariner of the Seas is a splendid cruise ship. This was my first cruise and was nervous because I get sea sick. actually sea sickness did not occur even once so I was very pleased. The process of checking in at the port went smoothly but we were perturbed that we could not bring on board the travel iron we had purchased at edinburgh aiport that morning and popped in our hand luggage. We were ...

This was our third cruise with RCI. We sailed from Civitavechia on 4 August. RCI remains as good as anyone in some aspects of cruising such as embarkation/disembarkation. Professional off-ship entertainers [on two evenings] also keeps them above the cheaper cruise companies. Staff are all terrific as usual. Cabins are excellent - large [very large] comfortable beds and mattresses. Instant ...

We flew from Manchester via Amsterdam to Rome Fiumicino on Fri, 24th Aug and arrived at 10:30 pm to stay overnight at the Hilton Rome Airport Hotel that is 'attached' to the airport. It is badly signposted so head for terminals 2 & 3 and up from the arrivals level and find the covered walkway near the car parks, and then follow what seems an endless tunnel to the hotel. However, the hotel was ...

First of all the ship is huge, spotless and provides lots to do for everyone, we enjoyed crazy golf, watching a movie shown on a screen above the pool whilst drinking cocktails, the gym is very well equipped and fairly quiet, whilst the boys enjoyed football, basketball and ping pong and the company of loads of teenagers from around the world. Cabins are a reasonable size although we did not ...

Briefly - flight with Jet2 Manchester to Rome fine on time - however there was some problem with luggage arrival at Rome not sure why but eventually we were ahown to coaches and on our way. transfer approx 1 hr and as soon as we arrived at port were taken straight through to begin boarding process - on board and in cabin within 20 mins. So far so good - then it all starts to go wrong!! WE were ...
