Disappointing

Review for a Asia Cruise on Mariner of the Seas

Chose this cruise for the ports and weather. The ship and facilities were disappointing. Lack of stock in shops. Entertainment when at dinner and over by 10pm. Geared to asian clientele. Food only average. Mashed potato with everything not fine dining. Dirty areas round pool and in theatre. Ship tired and going for refurb. Overpriced tours. Insect bites. We paid a lot and not value for money. ...

Firstly I know this ship has just gone in for a six week refurbishment. That being said having cruised with Royal many times ( Diamond Plus) I found myself constantly defending their policy’s but I can’t defend the indefensible. When will they stop this nickel and dime policy, over priced tours ,menus unchanged in years, shows that boarder on children’s party level. I take no pleasure in saying ...

This was our third cruise with RCI. We sailed from Civitavechia on 4 August. RCI remains as good as anyone in some aspects of cruising such as embarkation/disembarkation. Professional off-ship entertainers [on two evenings] also keeps them above the cheaper cruise companies. Staff are all terrific as usual. Cabins are excellent - large [very large] comfortable beds and mattresses. Instant ...

Briefly - flight with Jet2 Manchester to Rome fine on time - however there was some problem with luggage arrival at Rome not sure why but eventually we were ahown to coaches and on our way. transfer approx 1 hr and as soon as we arrived at port were taken straight through to begin boarding process - on board and in cabin within 20 mins. So far so good - then it all starts to go wrong!! WE were ...

We were looking forward to this cruise having never been to the Mediterranean before. Absolutely loved most of the ports we visited and will definitely go back for a more in-depth tour of Italy and Turkey. Embarkation was excellent. We arrived around 1PM, found no line-ups and were greeted right away. Through and on board in less than 15 min. Cabin - 8236 We liked the room. Comfortable bed, ...

We choosed the cruise because we like the itinerary, the solo supplement was reasonable at the time we booked and we were able to arrive with the own car. It was our first cruise with RCCL - so a possibility to compare with our past cruises. Before our cruise I had to find out, that the RCCL website is very intricately, very hard to find any actual information. And the german office was not ...

Before I go and review my cruise, I want to make readers aware that this was a group cruise on Mariner, and there were 11 of us on board, celebrating a 90th Birthday party. Embarkation: We stayed 3 nights in Rome pre-cruise and made our way down to the port by bus (to cater for the 11 of us!) and arrived at the terminal just ahead of the cruise line buses that came from the airport. One ...

RCC Mediterranean Cruise - Lovely itinerary

We departed Civitivecchia April 28th on the Mariner of the Seas. Rather than repeat many of the facts that have already been written, we do agree that the ship could use a little sprucing up. Yes, the food is no longer what it used to be and many of the little perks (i.e. chocolates on a turned-down bed) are gone. But - it's a wonderful itinerary, with cruising in-between, which, for us, is ...

A bit hit and miss

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Mariner of the Seas

We've just come back from a lovely 11 night cruise round the med on "Mariner of the seas". Though we had a lovely time there were some significant problems on the ship which do need to be dealt with if RCL want to keep their position in the "cruise polls"I'll deal with the good bits first....1. The cabins are large, clean and well maintained, the balconies are nice, if compact. 2. The cabin and ...
