Great activities, reasonable food, poor entertainment, questionable safety procedures.

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

Travelling with two older teenagers activities were a priority for us. AotS did not disappoint - bumper cars, rock climbing wall, iFly, roller skating, North Star (observation cabin) and Flow rider - these made the cruise a success. Food was Ok but not great - we paid for the dining package - and just about broke even, dining six out of the seven days in specialty restaurants. Of the ...

Fabulous cruise to Norway

Bit concerned about effects of Covid on cruising but apart from pre-covid tests everything was as experienced in previous cruises. Anthem is a nice ship with lots of different areas and plenty of seating around the ship. If you wanted to do a quiz etc it was best to arrive early to get a seat however. Entertainment was mostly good, especially in the Theatre. The Beatles tribute were very good ...

Wonderful family holiday

I hope in this review to give an idea to families with younger children what the experience of cruising with RC is like - this was our 1st time with them. By comparison we have cruised 3 times previously with Celebrity (all fantastic), once with P and O (disappointing) and once with Princess (similar disappointment to P and O. We did a lot of research prior to the cruise and had high ...

Just got off from Anthem yesterday and already miss it! Our last cruise was 3 years ago at Independence with extended family and we only booked this cruise 2 months ago wondering if it will be the same but it turned out to be absolute success. This time it was for family of 4 including myself husband and 7,11 years old children. At terminal we were told it is about four thousand something ...

Very good in most ways

My wife and I chose this cruise purely because of timing. My wife works a lot in the USA and this week fitted in with her trip home in between various other family events. We would not have actually chosen this itinerary, but that wasn't really a big point of the cruise, we just wanted to get away and (mainly for her...) relax. We have also cruised with RCCI a number of times and have always ...

Love Norway shame we got covid

Covid tests Pointless as we took covid home along with lots of people. Had to have a Covid test at our expense this year (last year Royal paid) no more than two days before. We were booked at Lloyds pharmacy which is £30 each but when I rang up they didn't have any lateral flow test kits in and wouldn't know if they would have them for our appointment. So we used MedicSpot this time as ...

This is our second trip on Anthem and it was 100% better than our last as the vast majority of COVID regulations have been relaxed. Embarkation at Southampton was easy and our daughter was in the pool by 1.30 as we had had our first cocktail! It was UK half term so the ship was busy with lots of kids. No problem with drinks in any of the bars (waiters work very hard!!). Food was a ...

My first Royal Caribbean cruise, and really enjoyed it. The ship's layout was great, as was the entertainment and food, and everywhere had a great atmosphere. We somehow snuck through embarkation in about half an hour, got changed and found a spot on deck 15 for an unexpectedly sunny Southampton afternoon. On Deck Weirdly, for such a big ship, I think the pool deck is quite small and ...

Chose the cruise for a break as a UK-based holiday that would be relatively reliable and not subject to travel restrictions. In fact, the ship, the main dining room, the crew especially, the ports of call and the entertaintment all exceeded expectations. We had cruised with Royal Caribbean on Freedom class ships before and enjoyed them, but the Anthem was a step up. I am not sure it had a ...

Florida Replacement

As our trip to Florida got cancelled again and I didn't want to fly due to all the tests and paperwork involved we did this 7 night uk trip. My son and I had a great time from bumper car driving to iflying. Great modern ship (have done other Royal Caribbean ships but smaller ones). No sea sickness even though I'm generally a bad traveller and it was a bit rocky at times so I put that down to ...
