Relaxing Winter Cruise

There's nothing like taking a cruise in a warm climate during the middle of winter. We spent 10 days in the Caribbean in January 2017, eight of which were on board the Royal Caribbean Jewel of the Seas. Overall we had a very good time though, like all of our cruise vacations, there were many ups and some downs. This was our fifth cruise, our second on Royal and our first to the Caribbean. We ...

We chose this particular cruise because it was a ship that we had never sailed on.....the itinerary had all of the places that we had visited before, at least once, and wanted to visit again.....we received a great promotional offer for the booking and the drink package we purchased (which was even upgraded for both of us, which we were not aware of until we arrived at check in and were told so by ...

We cruise 2-3 times a year and have been on all the Royal Caribbean class ships. ( except the Quantum) The Radiance class ship is our favorite so far. Not too big and not too small. We have been on the Jewel of the Sea’s twice now. The first time the food did not have the variety we were used to. (No Shrimp or Lobster). This was not the case this time, but we did notice that Shrimp was ...

A Three Night Introduction to Cruise Life

Our sail on Jewel of the Seas, April of 2016, was our first cruise. We wanted to see what cruising was all about. We travelled with our six year old on a three night cruise to the Eastern Caribbean, stopping at CocoCay, Nassau, and Key West. We arrived at Port Canaveral on the same day as embarkation. Next time we will arrive the day before, as we had several misadventures in getting to the ship, ...

Royal heading downhill.

Royal Caribbean has decided evidently to become an entry level cruise experience. Here are my observations: 1) overall food quality has been going downhill for the last few years. Menu diversity also has been reduced. If you're a meat and potatoes person you're in luck. If you like vegetarian or international cuisine (Indian, Thai, Chinese, etc.) you won't be happy. Here, animal protein ...

No one should have to go through this. My husband and I booked this cruise the beginning of March. We thought we were getting a room with a door between my sister-in-law's room and ours, $300 onboard credit, dinner for 2 at a specialty restaurant and a free spa treatment. The 3 other couples traveling with us were given the same incentives. The travel agent used the debit card we used to ...

I really enjoyed everything about this cruise. I liked the intinerary. Enjoyed both excursions I booked. One through the ship (zipline in St. Kitts) and one off the ship. Captain Bob's catamaran day trip in St Maarten. Martinique was a bit challenging given language barrier. Next time I will book an excursion to make this island more enjoyable. I did think the shopping in town was reasonably ...

This was are third cruise that my wife andI have been on. our first two cruises were with Princess, we wanted to try a different cruise line this year. Not because of bad experiences, but more to see if there is something better or different out there. Well with trying a new cruise line we were dissatisfied with cost (being more expensive), thought there would be better service (pool side and ...

Sadly disappointing!

This was our 7th cruise and 2nd with Royal Caribbean and likely our last with them. While we took the cruise with a large group of friends and family and thoroughly enjoyed our time with them, RC left us very disappointed with the level of quality for the cruise. The food in the main dining room was good but the Windjammer buffet left a lot to be desired. The variety of food was seriously lacking ...

Not thrilled with the ship

Sailed several Royal ships, but this was one of my least favorite ship. There were several problems with meats being cooked to order and even after being sent back, still didn't come out right. Food in the Windjammer was mediocre and not much variety. I felt the activities qere lacking, not much going on a the one sale day. There wasn't a lot to do at the pool area except for belly flopping ...
