Nice Ship, Good Ports of Call

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas

I had read very negative reviews of this ship ranging from dirty carpets to fetid odors. I found the ship to be very well maintained for an older ship and, fortunately, odor free. The staff was wonderful, and entertainment was good although, for the first time on any cruise I have taken, I did not care for the RCL stage shows featuring the singers and dancers. Food at the Windjammer was as ...

Myself, my wife and 3 year old daughter had a wonderful 12 days on the Rhapsody around Turkey and the Greek Islands. The itinerary was great in that there was a nice place to go to everyday except for two sea days. Istanbul, Chania, Mykonos and Santorini are must-see's and we loved these places. We didn't get off at Athens as we had been there before so we had a rare chance to just relax by ...

We have just returned from a wonderful cruise and have the obligatory air con cold to prove it. We booked an internal room as we have found as its so dark this is the best sleep we ever get. We never sleep in long at home. We took the tip of another reviewer and brought a tiny torch so we could find the loo in the night. Great Tip. We felt no vibration and at times forgot we were at sea. Only ...

This cruise turned out to be a bargain and so was the airfare to and from Istanbul. I spent a few days before the cruise in Istanbul since hotels were ridiculously cheap. Unfortunately the weather was miserable for the entire stay. Transfer to cruise ship was very easy and boarding took no time at all. I was on the Vision about 12 years ago and it was nice to see that it has held up very well. ...

Exceeded Expectations

Unable to resist the almost ridiculously low rates for this voyage and the availablity of very reasonably priced air from NY to Istanbul, my wife and I decided to return to the Mediterranean. Let me state - unequivocally - that this trip met or exceeded all expectations. The ship, while obviously older (1998), was in very good shape. It does show some age with some of the design and ...

We booked this cruise because it was amazingly good value, and also gave us the opportunity to visit Israel. We arrived not sure what to expect - and after reading such negative reviews of Vision we were apprehensive to say the least. We thought we would probably "get what you paid for" but it completed surpassed anything we could imagine. It was wonderful. Our rooms were much bigger than we ...

Arrived in Istanbul late afternoon the day before boarding the Vision. We got a taxi to Hotel Maywood, which cost around 35 lira. Did a bit of the tourist thing Monday morning and then headed off to the ship by taxi...costing about 15 lira. Check in was a matter of about 10 minutes and then we wandered a bit until our room was ready. We had a junior suite, which gave us that wonderfully huge ...
