Wanted to do a cruise over the Christmas and New Year holiday. This cruise left from Baltimore which was very convenient. Expected kids to be on board but didn’t expect them to be able to run amok. No parental supervision or any reprimand from the cruise line. Our dinner table was for sitting 12 people. We requested to get a table for 4 and the maitre d’ was very arrogant in our request and ...

I chose this cruise because of the destination and recommendation from someone who had sailed with Royal Caribbean. We were very disappointed. It wasn't the worst cruise we have ever been on, but it certainly didn't rank near the top. It seems that RC has invested so much in its new giant ships that it has forgotten about the older, smaller ones. The cabin was so tiny that there was no ...

Let me start by saying that I have ben on 38 cruises and this was not a bad one at all,,however it had some issues. The embarkation and disembarkation was excellent. Can't say enough good things about the Port of Baltimore. After we were checked in we went to the Windjammer for lunch.. It was so crowded that you had to walk around with your hands full for a while to find a seat. The food was ...

liked the size of the ship. easy to get around. stayed in a balcony, deck 7, port side , about 2/3`s the way back. room nice size. mattresses were noticeably sunken in. still, i slept well. room just a tad bit warm although the a/c was on max cooling. a couple of the singers were slightly out of key in their performance. cabin steward excellent. (Raul) .i did notice several times a slight odor of ...

6-10 Cruises

We are a family of 4. My husband and I are in our 40s. Kids are 9 and 3. We have cruised on Celebrity twice (pre-kids) and on Carnival at least 5 or 6 times in the past 11 years. Our home port was Houston, now, Baltimore. My review includes our 10-day Western Caribbean cruise on Grandeur of the Sea and some comparison to Carnival Pride. Both ships are based out of Baltimore. They are both ...

I enjoyed the itinerary, and my outside stateroom was what I expected. I had a wonderful stateroom attendant, and everything seemed very clean. BUT, the food was institutional at best. All food is loaded in Baltimore, so what is there lasts for all 10 cruise days. Nothing fresh! If you like frozen food without much flavor, this cruise is for you. HOWEVER, the fitness center was wonderful, ...

This is a 19 year old ship that was cut in half and additional cabins placed in the middle. It sails out of Baltimore and is always filled since for many people the convenience is driving to the port and not flying. Because of the additional passengers a problem is the main restaurant, buffet and theater that were sized for a smaller passenger load and so there is crowding. To ensure getting a ...

This is my 20th cruise, on varied lines. I would give this ship and 5 out of 10/average rating. Relevant points: - RC, like other lines, has given up much of their "public space" to private revenue restaurants and VIP spaces. On the Grandeur, this impacts passengers as the cruise is out of Baltimore, and weather and seas can be rough / more inside use. - Grandeur had the worse "table cleaning/ ...

First Time Cruiser

This was a 10 night cruise over Thanksgiving. This was my first cruise with Royal Caribbean. (Previously, I had been on cruises with Norwegian, Celebrity and Carnival). I had a great time and experience on all my other cruises, but not on Grandeur of the Seas or with Royal Caribbean. Things to know before booking with Royal Caribbean/Grandeur of Seas: 1. Toilets do not flush properly in either ...

Let me start by saying that my husband and I have been on 38 cruises. We cruise out of Baltimore because it is convenient. Embarkation and disembarkation is a breeze . We were on the ship by 11:00 AM. We went to the Windjammer for lunch and it was quite crowded. That is to be expected, however the food was not even warm.
