We just returned from the Eastern Caribbean cruise out of Baltimore. The ship is small, but the crew is great and they really try hard to make your cruise a great experience. The crowd on this crews was 60+, but it did not bother us. We did realize that we prefer a bigger ship, but the convenience to leave from Baltimore and the itinerary is hard to beat. We had great weather, great ports and good ...

On St. Lucia rude & pushy Vishal at Diamonds Int. (What’s the matter lady, don’t you like diamonds?) And Vijay at Gold Mine, pushy like a hungry used car salesman. Amit, Diamond lounge concierge and John, Diamond lounge bar waiter both very good. Cabin attendant Edison was most accommodating to us. Accessible officers on this ship were good. They were friendly and genuinely concerned for ...

We have departed from Baltimore on other occasions and love the ease of their port. Departing from ports such as NY are nowhere near as nice and easy and friendly as the Baltimore Port. We had an 11 night cruise that included stops at St. Thomas, St. Lucia, Saint Maarten and Antigua. Each island having something different to offer and enjoyed each and everyone. We had purchase ...

It was our first time on the Grandeur of the Seas and it has a lot to offer. We left Baltimore and cruised for 3 days before encountering the first of the 4 US Virgin Islands. The food in the Great Gatsby dining room was exceptional and the service was better than that. We also all like the offerings in the Windjammer. Be sure and check out the Park Cafe in the Solarium for healthy options and ...

We've sailed Grandeur many times and love the ship! However, this time - which was a back to back cruise was lacking. Our waiter forgot us - salad one night, lobster - husband although he ordered it - it never came and after waiter was offering seconds to everyone - hubby had to raise his hand to get waiter's attention. It took 7 nights before I was served hot tea - was told didn't have what I ...

My wife and I went on a 10 night cruise on this ship from Baltimore to the eastern Caribbean, March 30 – April 9, 2016. We booked a junior suite with a balcony because we knew we would be at sea a total of 5 days and didn’t want to be cramped in a small cabin in the interior of the ship or on the lower levels. This was the first time we had not stayed in a small cabin on the lower levels of a ...

First Time Cruiser

Age 50s

We were first time cruisers (just my husband and I, in our 50's) and chose the Grandeur of the Seas as a smaller ship so as not to be too overwhelmed and allow us the opportunity to really explore our ship, get to know the cruising procedures (embarkation, ship familiarization, amenities, dining/food, etc.) The ship was fabulous for a first time cruise however I do think it was a bit on the ...

Before we left for our cruise, I looked at reviews on this site about The Grandeur of the Seas and RCI, in general. I worried a bit because many reviews were negative stating that the ship was old, a bit run down, food was not great, etc. Our experience was the exact opposite. My husband and I cruised with our 17 and 22 year old daughters. We had a junior suite (fabulous!) and the girls ...

A great cruise, despite the fickle weather that put a damper on some of the would-be highlights of the cruise. The space in my inside stateroom was great - granted I was the only one in the cabin, but I needed less than half of the storage space available, so there was certainly room for a second person who packs relatively lightly, like I do. I ordered the Evian water package - solos beware, the ...

We picked this cruise so we cold drive to the port, we had someone in our group that hates to fly. Check in was quick and easy, on and off the ship as well. At first we were really bummed that it was so small ( we have been on all of the bigger ones up to the Oasis ) but got used to it after a few days. Being smaller, the staff seemed more personable, and more attentive. The first full day was too ...
