Let me start by saying that my husband and I have been on 38 cruises. We cruise out of Baltimore because it is convenient. Embarkation and disembarkation is a breeze . Overall: Let's face it. Grandeur is a 20 year old ship. As such, it looks, well, "old and tired". Peeling paint, constant maintenance by the crew during the cruise, worn and ripped seats in the theater, a lackluster dining room decor - all this takes away from the overall experience. This is a 19 year old ship that was cut in half and additional cabins placed in the middle. It sails out of Baltimore and is always filled since for many people the convenience is driving to the port and not flying. This is my 20th cruise, on varied lines. I would give this ship and 5 out of 10/average rating. Relevant points: - RC, like other lines, has given up much of their "public space" to private revenue restaurants and VIP spaces.
