Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas

We were on this ship 2 years ago going south and weren't really impressed but only went this trip because of the 9 nights we would suppose to be in port 5 days - didn't happen. A week prior to boarding we got an email that said due to a coast guard inspection don't show up until noon - no big deal. The boat did not leave until the following morning. It then didn't pull into boston until 3pm and ...

We chose this cruise because we had a discount from Royal Caribbean because the previous cruise we were on we had a flooded cabin on the Allure of the Seas. We also chose this cruise because of the size of the ship. Neither my husband nor I liked the bigger ship, Allure. We preferred the smaller ships. We also liked the time of year and the biggest reason was the ports of call. We were very ...

So Disappointed

The food in the dining room on this ship is far inferior to any RC ship I have cruised on.Overcooked chicken and steak, and tasteless fish. The service in the dining room for breakfast and lunch was extremely slow, and very slow for dinner. We cruised on Carnival Miracle in September 2018 and the food was excellent. The cabin was a starboard side ocean view. It was very noisy; we could hear and ...

We were excited to see these ports in Canada and New England, all of them new to us. Definitely a trip I had looked forward to, celebrating our 45th anniversary and a birthday. Some of the things they could have managed were smoother transitions for tours off the ship. Maybe special accommodations for handicap accessible needs, such as a bus for their slower pace. Why show a skateboarding ...

This cruise is catered to senior citizens. Even the entertainment is geared towards the "older crowd". Bartenders are even calling out..time for your medications!! I'm guessing 85% of the guests on this ship are between 65-75. I am 56 and had a hard time finding places on the ship to hear more modern music or things to do. The ports are very interesting, I especially enjoyed the stop at Bar ...

We booked this cruise for the itinerary and sailing date as it was the only option that worked for our entire sailing party. The Port: (We heard eventually that the ship was late returning to port that morning, so our prolonged check in experience was likely not the norm for the port.) We pulled into the lot at 11 am and were directed into a long car line to drop off our bags, then were ...

First of all, my wife and first started cruising on Royal Caribbean International since 1987, we took a nine night cruise from Baltimore on Grandeur of the Seas and sailed to Portland, Bar Harbor ME, St Johns, New Brunswick and Halifax Nova Scotia. Our biggest disappointment was the quality of the food in the main dining room, the strip and "Manhattan" steaks were about 2 inches by 6 inches by ...

My husband and I selected this cruise in hopes of seeing some fall colors. we were a bit early. In retrospect, found that perhaps a month later would have been perfect. Starts in Baltimore, a great city with wonderful sites if you are a walker or have time to get there a few days early. The pier is easy to locate. The cruise line will try to sell you one way port/airport transportation for $39 ...

Let me start by saying that although this cruise was the worst cruise that I've been on in recent years, I will still have some very fond memories from it. I will probably never sail aboard the Grandeur of the Seas again, but that's simply because I don't feel that the ship offers the amenities that I enjoy and expect. I had booked one of the Grand Suites, as I have on the Radiance Class and the ...

I was very much looking forward to this cruise but as soon as the cruise began, I realized this ship was nothing like the Grand Princess that I sailed on in October. The food was mediocre, the daytime activity choice poor, and although the evening entertainment was good, there was a lack of choice. If we wanted to dance, it had to be very late, past our bedtime. In Boston, there were long lines ...
