I am currently on the Jewel of the Seas on the TA cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Southampton.
We flew to Miami on the 4th April with American Airlines. This was the first time flying with them and I was very impressed with the whole experience. There was more leg room than with other airlines we had used in the past and the boarding process was much more organised. The airline crew were very ...
In short, I had a blast with my wife and two kids (1yo & 3yo). We are a bit bummed that next year Anthem will be elsewhere. We had a good enough time to book another cruise on RC next summer.
Embarkation: As expected, everything RC controlled went unbelievably smooth. The only hiccup was that there were extreme delays with releasing the previous cruise from the parking terminal in Bayonne. ...
First cruise since COVID, and second time on Anthem. Embarkation was so smooth and took the most of 5 minutes inside before walking onto the cruise ship. I really like how you can do most of the check-in online through the APP. Let me say the APP is one of the best.
Food
I enjoyed the food throughout the ship -- buffet, main dining room, doghouse, cafe 270, sorrento's and cafe promenade. ...
Very smooth boarding procedures, the food was great, the shows were good as well, a lot of activities that made the sea days very fun! My family had a great time onboard. Also not sure if the ship was at full capacity or not but we feel except waiting time on the elevators, all other lines were pretty reasonable. The best thing is the APP, we could check, book or cancel nearly everything on it ...
This was out second time on the Anthem out of Cape Liberty (Bayonne for us locals) doing the 7 day with Cococay. The first time was during Covid, so the ship was at a much lower capacity then and many shows, etc were cancelled or reduced. This trip was the full experience -- the ship was full
We are now Diamond+ and have sailed nearly all classes of ships on Royal, as well as most classes ...
This was my first experience cruising (45-year-old female) and I would recommend! I had a single person cabin with a balcony on the sixth floor. My room was very nice and I love they had an affordable balcony option for a solo traveler. I really enjoyed dinner each night in the main room. This is included in the cost of the cruise
I recommend the early 5 pm reservation for no waiting. I ...
After reading all the negative reviews I almost did not book this old ship! I am picky, really picky and I am a true "Karen". I booked he one bedroom Owner's suite cabin. This cabin was on deck 10 and near the elevator, which after pulling a hamstring days before the cruise was extremely helpful. The towels were not exactly fluffy and yes the hot water handle fell off when I turned it on, ...
We've been on 35 cruises mostly Princess (my favorite) Royal Caribbean and a few others, but for a short cruise, this was excellent.
Embarkation was quick and so was debarkation even tho I need a wheelchair, Usually, this can take time but not on this ship. Only surprise was the buffet closes at 8:00am on debarkation day. Clever way to get people moving.
Our room seemed small, it was an ...
Overall, we had an very good experience. The crew was outstanding- knowledgeable, efficient and had good senses of humor. Food was a little uneven in the main dining room and certainly not to pre-pandemic standards. On lobster night, my wife and I had to laugh at the smallest tails we'd ever seen. We had a three night dining package and were disappointed in Chops Grille. It was nothing ...
Starting with our room. We booked a corner Panoramic Ocean View. The view was fantastic and overall the room wasn't located in a place that was too loud. It was winter months and the temp outside was in the low to mid 70's so the room stayed nice and cool for us. For one of the days, the sun really came out and the room did get a bit warm but not uncomfortably. The amenities in the room seemed ...
