My wife and I are long time and frequent cruisers, having taken cruises on 4 different cruise lines. For the past 8 years, we have been "Loyal to Royal" as Crown and Anchor Diamond members, and have taken as many as 4 cruises with RCCL in a single year. We were looking forward to our 5 day cruise to Mexico this March, which was the fourth time we have had a March sailing, and was our first time ...
Great service and very clean ship. Lots of college age Spring Breakers but no problems with them. They took over one pool and hot tub but behaved well. Lots of extra security walking around helped keep everyone calm and safe. Loved the food in MDR and Windjammer.
Lots of people smoking in non smoking areas. These were grown adults-not college kids. A few times we told a crew member and they ...
The Harmony of the Seas is a majestic cruise ship with lots to offer. First embarkation was easy, however with 6,000 people trying to board it does take a long time, we arrived at 10:30 a.m. and were on board by 12:30 pm as "Crown & Anchor" members ALL board first before other passengers. Once on the ship it is really is quite grand and a marvel of engineering. The ship is very clean and sleek ...
The size can create some issues, crowded elevators and limited seating for shows. Even with reservations we did not have assigned seats for the shows and had to arrive early to get in. Food service was better in the 4th and 5th floor main dining rooms and the special restaurants. The best food was in the Coastal Kitchen on the 17th floor. We were able to dine there for dinner and had two fantastic ...
Length of cruise and interesting ports.
Mr. Cox would give informative history and little unknown insights to the upcoming ports of call. Mr. Cox was a college professor and his background was Caribbean history. He was also a native of the Caribbean. I'm sorry that I did not attend his earlier talks and that my misfortune.
Our cruise director was a lot of fun and in the end found he too had ...
I took this 2-port, 5-Night cruise to visit Haiti and Jamaica. This was my 27th cruise and I usually cruise Solo. Unfortunately, we had a "medical emergency" which caused us to turn back and go to the Miami Port. Judging by how long we stayed at the port, this was obviously a tragic incident. What bothered me though was that RC decided to skip our first port of call and head directly to Jamaica ...
This was our 19th cruise. Most of these cruises have been on Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. We are Diamond members and usually cruise once to twice a year. I want to list what we found that was excellent on this ship, what was good, what was bad and what was horrible. Some of these things that were bad or horrible cannot be blamed on the cruise line.
What was excellent: Surprising to us, I would ...
We are RCL Crown and Anchor members but have never sailed on Serenade or to any of these ports. We knew going in the ship was older and is scheduled for a refurb this year. You could definitely tell that. A lot of the particle board items in our cabin were "bubbling." We also had to request a pillow top for our bed as it was hard as a rock and the pillows were flat as pancakes. Never had that on ...
Chose this cruise for the ship and destinations. There were a great many things that we loved, and some that we didn't. I am Platinum cruiser, and this definitely up to standards.
First and foremost, there are many other reviews from this cruise about it being a frat party. Yes, it was. But who cruises on your particular voyage has little fault of the ship and crew. You just make the best of ...
So I decided to try this cruise line because my parents don't like to sail with any other line. I have cruised carnival 3 times in the last few years and I love it. Lessons I learned that will keep me from coming back. 1. The food is good quality, but lacking great taste. I even tried the more upscale $$ restaurants and received no wow. 2. They need more activities. On a boat that size there ...
