One of the worst, most humiliating experiences of my life. Due to a noise complaint I was forced out of my room, forced to answer questions under duress to security, forced to talk to two doctors, and then locked in my room for 30 hours despite the doctors telling them to let me go, that everything was fine. The ship captain is an egomaniac who made the decision and refused to talk to me. The doctor didn’t understand why they were doing it but wouldn’t get involved. Security was either on a power trip or were complete cowards. Even if none of that had happened, it was still a terrible liner. The rooms were terrible. Paint was scrapped, desk was chipped, heat didn’t work so the room was freezing and the shower water didn’t got hotter then lukewarm. Despite them promising to fix those last two, it never happened. The gym equipment was old and terrible. The free weights were all banged up. Half the treadmills couldn’t go over 7 mph. I did a body composition analysis and the machine was obviously broken as it popped out numbers that were clearly impossible. They still managed to charge $45 for it though. They screwed you with pricing for the wifi, $15 a day and it was the worst WiFi imaginable. It could barely load pictures. They charged an outrageous price for the drink package and all the bars desperately needed updating. All of the guns were broken, and nothing was refrigerated so if you got a drink with ice, it immediately melted, ruining the drink. You could never use the pool or hot tubs as they were always full of children. There needed to be some adult only locations so we could enjoy these amenities. The crew did there best but were clearly overworked and underpaid. It was hard not to tell bad for them, and this alone had me convinced never to book with royal Caribbean again. Let me just say that this has been one of the worst cruises I've been on. The whole cruise has been one disappointment after another that has made what was supposed to be a happy and enjoyable birthday and 10th anniversary holiday into a depressing and boring cruise. From the horrible staff in the kids club that drove my 3yo daughter to tears, to the overcrowding of the ship so much that you can't get into anything, to the cancellation of the iFly due to weather but because of the overcrowding there's no more room for us, even with The Key. The food has been average, the entertainment has been ok but too packed. The room attendant even broke our personal soap holder. The baristas make coffees so hot that could burn holes in hell. We turned up for roller-skating on time to be told it was full and we needed to arrive earlier. We lined up for an hour in the hot sun waiting for the north star. The bionic bar keeps losing my drink orders even after they've been sent. The constant barrage of hard sales pitches from staff is annoying also. The lack of entertainment compared to the number of passengers is rediculous meaning so many people miss out. We paid for The Key to gain access to extra benefits but have found it absolutely useless as there's just too many people on the ship, other than the internet. And finally, theres been more than one occasion where I've walked into the toilets and there's been poo on the floor. The Ovation of the Seas ship has ruined not only my birthday but our 10th anniversary that we've been looking forward to for a few years. Read Less

Cruised on the voyager of the seas on a 14 night South Pacific cruise. Was notified when we all boarded on sail out day that there would be a Major itinerary change and that the ports of Port Villa, Mystery Island, Lifou and Mare were now canceled due to the coronavirus scare. The cruise would now be re-directed from the warm South Pacific and Travel south to Cold Tauranga NZ and Eden south coast. A lot of disgruntled passengers due to the fact that RC didn’t choose a suitable port in a warmer climate such as North Queensland? Or no offers of reimbursement. That been said if anyone is reading this please take into consideration the RC ‘unlimited drinks’ package also is consumed by a lot of irresponsible cruisers. At Ike’s we felt that we were on a P&O party ship rather than a family cruise. Smoking area was situated right next to kids pool and spa with literally hundreds of smokers at any given time sucking down their cheap duty free smokes. Cruise had no atmosphere right from the get go with no band playing at sail out party or any sail out parties for that matter, which was a first from the 10+ cruises we have done sailing out of Sydney. Found the majority of the staff were quite jaded given that after talking with a lot of them the majority of staff were nearing the end of their 7 month work contract. We cruised on the Radiance of the seas 12 months ago and found the difference between the 2 ships was like cruising with a different cruise line, the 2 ships are similar size, however the voyager has around 1000 more passengers which made it near impossible finding a table for breakfast or lunch in the windjammer eatery. Disembarkment was a similar issue, also found all the deck chairs around the pool were taken early with people claiming them with their towels but not necessarily using them and the pool staff certainly didn’t police people reserving deck chairs. Also similar issue with the Pig and Whistle Tavern and the Cafe Promenade were always busy with a lot of elderly doing jigsaw puzzles etc in these areas and taking up tables for large extended periods of time and not being able to get a seat most of the time. The Gym on this ship is a joke and given what the Gym looked like before the recent renovations is somewhat of an insult. I found that this cruise was terribly pushy with a feeling of it being very overcrowded, the entertainment was below average, the food repetitive and found that this cruise had no atmosphere compared to the many cruises we have done beforehand. The Voyager has now made me reconsider how I Holiday now as I have done a cruise every 12 months since 2005 and this was the first cruise that We haven’t enjoyed. If you are considering doing a RC cruise just remember that the bigger the ship doesn’t mean better. If you have children then Carnival Cruises are the way to go they are more family friendly the food is better and they practice responsible service of alcohol with capping their drinks package at 15 per day. Accessible junior suite was nice, out cabin steward was very attentive to our requests. The room service was always on time, but never properly delivered what we ordered. We ordered a banana each morning, never received one and instead we got an apple. It was impossible to find a banana anywhere on the ship, curious given all the ports we visited that grow bananas. I even asked the dining manager in the Windjammer about that. He said he would check and get back to me, I am still waiting. The Windjammer was undoubtedly the worst buffet I have ever been to. Tried to eat there for lunch twice and the offerings were poor at best. Never had breakfast there after walking through and seeing what they had to offer. How does a buffet not have bacon? My time dining in the main dining room was awful, ended up leaving and going to specialty restaurants on all but one night. The host and dining room manager provided no customer service at all. The specialty dining was hit and miss as well. Izumi did not have any Sapporo beer in stock. One night we went and ordered, they delivered something completely different than what was ordered. Chops was good with the exception of the night we went after we left Izumi. We ended up leaving there before we received our mains since service was so lacking. Giovanni's was spot on every time we visited. Bar service in the main bars was excellent. Service at the pool deck was awful. I decided to sit there one afternoon to see how long it would be to see how long it would take for a server to ask me for a drink. After 90 minutes with no luck, I gave up and decided to go to guest services. I asked them if I should lower my expectations for service and treat it as get your own drink. I also told them that there were plenty of people walking around trying to up sell drink packages and dining packages, but nobody to take a drink order. Their response was pretty much yes. This made it easy for us to decide this was the first and last time we will cruise Royal Caribbean. Shore excursions St. Thomas – We booked with Royal to go to St. John. It was a great excursion. Martinique – Royal canceled last minute, saying logistical issues. It was really that not enough people signed up for the tour. So we booked our own version with a local cab driver. Ended up saving money and having more options. St. Lucia – We booked with Royal, was a nice tour of the island with a stop at a local Batik shop. Barbados – We Got off and hired a cab for the day. Ship excursions offered were lacking. Read Less

Traveling with 13 others. All age groups. This is my 31st cruise. This is the worst ship I have been on. As I write this I am on my 3 rd day on the Empress of the Seas. My sister booked this cruise. Based on reviews. Not sure what she was reading! The buffet food is so horrible you can’t eat it.. my 82 year old mother with dementia even commented how bad it is. The ship is small which is a plus. Shows good. They have activities but done with not much enthusiasm from the staff. Cabin old. Shower curtain moldy. Cabin attendant trying hard. Main dining room food is better and staff very attentive. If you can find another ship that fits your travel time frame. Book that one. Royal Caribbean is usually a safe bet. I’m not sure what happened with this boat. If you want luxury book a Celebrity cruise ship. You won’t be disappointed. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we had already sailed carnival a few times , and wanted to try what we heard was a step up. It was terrible! Just trying to get an elevator you could fit in was nearly impossible. We took the stairs 5-6 flights most of the day. Just up and down. The staff was unpleasant for the most part. There was definitely more unhappy irritated staff then there was happy and helpful staff. Food was regular cafeteria food. Not that great. Even the restaurants you pay for were subpar. They nickel and dime you for everything. Due to weather we were unable to dock one of the days at their island cococay. Understandable for safety, but they refused to refund our port and docking fees!! They basically stole that money. We couldn’t dock and had to stay at sea, so why are we being charged for it? Terrible! I bought the drink package and those were good. However, it’s a good thing I closely reviewed my bill. They had charged me over 100$ for drinks that were included with my package!! Those were refunded once brought to their attention. This cruise line was a complete scam! Oh, don’t forget to return your pool towel! That’s 25$ a piece. Room service is also an added fee with this company. Just trying to take money from you anyway they can. Also don’t get the Key!!!! They say you will have special times to use the on board activities without lines. Well those times are while you at port and normally off the ship exploring an island . So unless you don’t plan on getting off then you will miss those times. Also it says you get special seating for shows. Not true! The internet service it included was terrible! No one got decent service. The only thing it was good for was the welcome lunch and last day breakfast, ( The food wasn’t great) overall the key was a complete waist. The shows were not good either. Not worth it at all. We paid over 500 for a cabana on the beach. SAVE YOUR MONEY! Nothing special about them. They actually made it harder to explore , because they are so far away from everything else. They are literally on the edge of cococay ...farthest thing away. You pay 500+ to be near nothing! There were plenty of chairs open right by the ocean bar and food. Wish we had saved the money. Paid for a photo package. They didn’t have anyone taking pictures at dinner, or at our private cabana. You had to wait in lines with back drops for a picture.Do yourself a favor and Just take your own. Carnival was much better even though they say it’s a cheaper company. At least they didn’t steal money. Stay away from Royal Caribbean! Read Less

I’ve been on Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas this week and was highly disappointed to find that one of the complimentary restaurants included in my cruise fare had been bought out by a group for the entire week and closed to the public. I cruised on the sister ship last year and loved the Solarium Bistro and Samba Grill and really looked forward to eating there on this cruise. It is so close to the adults only Solarium and suite deck for breakfast and lunch and I was very inconvenienced by this being unavailable and lines for the buffet being very long. I was never notified of that it would be closed and when asking crew members when it would be open, I could not receive a straight answer even when raising my question and concerns to the manager of all of the restaurants. I cruise several times a year and pay A LOT of money for a suite to receive the amenities that come with it. Royal Caribbean has cheapened my experience by introducing “The Key” program where people can pay $25/day to receive amenities not available to the suite guests such as private and exclusive access and time at onboard activities. I was ready to book my next cruise during this trip for a suite to Europe later this year, but it is no longer worth my money to pay that much and remain loyal to a cruise line that doesn’t value me as a customer. Chose this cruise because of value and time constraints. Cruise port hard to navigate and understand because of lack of signage. On entering stateroom found shower had not been cleaned properly and had long dark hair on walls and floor. Offered a bottle of wine for our inconvenience. Traveling with a young child and they were not very accommodating at changing dining time to early. Dining room staff in evening were excellent but breakfast left a lot to be desired. Food was only warm and service was lacking. A few days into cruise found tiny ants (termite type) in our cabin. Their response from Hotel Mgr was “there cannot be bugs on our ships “. They finally saw them and only offered to move us to move us to deck 8 above the nightclub. IndicTed it was the only available room even though we had staff indicate they were down by approximately 400 passengers. They then offered us a future cruise credit which we declined. Then they offered us an onboard ship credit that we reluctantly accepted. First and last experience with Royal Caribbean. Read Less

ATTENTION AUTISM PARENTS Royal Caribbean states, “Royal Caribbean offers an autism friendly initiative for families living with autism, Down Syndrome and other developmental disabilities.” This was NOT true for my nine year old daughter with Autism! She wished to go to Mexico and we thought we found an accommodating, affordable and fun choice with choosing Royal Caribbean's Enchantment of the Seas. This was the farthest from the truth as it was stressful, disappointing and a waste of every saved penny! This trip started with an 8 HOUR delay to check in. Now my daughter was already overwhelmed and exhausted by all the unknown vague text messages given by Royal Caribbean. Once we were given the ability to be checked in, we were all put in a large waiting room. This room was loud and crowded and we were directed to sit in the first two rows. Once we sat down my daughter then put her shirt over her head, began to rock and cry. At this point I went and talked to the staff explaining our situation as my daughter continues to meltdown. I was told, “Once we start boarding it will go quick, please take your seat.” After thirty minutes go by my husband carries her around trying to calm her in a room which is impossible. At this point my husband goes to a different staff member and explains again we need to wait somewhere quieter. He was told, “there is nothing we can do about it, please just take a seat.” In the end my daughter cried for an hour. Apparently this was the “priority check in, boarding” service they give to families with autism as stated on there website https://www.royalcaribbean.com/experience/accessible-cruising/autism-friendly-ships . Royal Caribbean's website states, “Priority check-in, boarding and departure.” Not only did we not receive either but we were brushed off by the staff in the waiting room and Royal Caribbean when I called and explained what had happened. I was told that they were “port staff” and were sorry. They took NO responsibility for their empty promises to people with additional needs. Finally, we boarded at 9:30pm and then we had to go to our muster stations. At our stations we were lined up extremely close to one another to receive safety instruction. While yelling out room numbers to make sure everyone was there. My poor daughter could not get a break. I understand the need for this drill but it can be done in a better matter or in two sessions verse people being pushed together like cattle. My daughter kept trying to cuddle and hide from the people and noise. Now it's 10:15 pm at night and we go back to our cabin to go to bed. However we can’t as the bunk beds weren't down. If it wasn’t locked in the ceiling, we would have brought down the beds ourselves. We then seeked out a staff member to bring the beds down. We were told, “ your going to have to wait as we are busy.” Again we explained that our daughter NEEDS to go to bed. At 10:45pm we were able to start the bedtime routine. Lastly, the childcare center (Adventure Ocean) isn’t an autistic friendly space. As the staff are friendly they aren’t qualified to understanding children with additional needs. We checked on her fairly frequently as she wanted to be included in the fun activities for her age group. She struggled daily and leaned on her brother for support. Most activities were loud large motor group games. However she brought her book for moments when she needed calming times. Now since I was given a pager I felt reassured she would be okay. Royal Carribean states, “Pagers/phones for parents of children in Adventure Ocean program while signed into our care (subject to availability) Availability: These Autism Friendly products and services are available on all cruises.” That wasn’t the case when my daughter needed to leave. According to my 11 year old son, “she went into the washroom to cry. She went in and out for an hour.” When we arrived to pick them up a staff member tells us she beeped us twice. They checked the pager and there was no missed page. A simple sorry was given as my daughter falls to the ground in tears when the security gate was opened. My husband had to carry her to the room. She was crying and so overwhelmed she shut down and couldn’t speak. I am writing to make all parents aware of how Royal Caribbean treats children with needs, I don’t want your child to go through the same emotional trauma my daughter had too! I have contacted Royal Caribbean with my concerns for my daughter and all future children will additional needs. I was told it was documented and I received the most pathetic empty apology. This was supposed to be an amazing wish come true but Royal Caribbean gave us epic meltdowns and the worst vacation we have ever been on! #RoyalCaribbean #RoyalCaribbeanInternational #Crownandanchor #crown&anchor #Cruise #Autism #Autistic #Specialneeds #Additionalneeds #worstvacation Read Less

First of all let's start by saying that I booked a deluxe balcony suit and spend over $18,000 on a 9 day cruise for my family. To start off, the cruise didn't even include transportation from the Miami airport to the dock. That was an additional charge. Once we boarded we couldn't even go on to our private balcony because it was covered in exhaust soot from the boats exhaust. The bed was hard as a rock and the couch had no cushions. once the balcony was washed and we were able to go out on it the next day, but it was nothing but a spectacle of peeling paint and rust. On a daily basis the deck would be covered in falling paint chips. Not to mention the private balcony, was overlooked by the cruise ship dining room. Not very private. Everything on the cruise ship seemed to nickel-and-dime you to death. You can't even get a Coke without buying it. The ice cream machine on the pool deck was constantly broken. They charge for pool towels as they have to be signed in and signed out and if your kids forget to sign them back in you get charged $25. at the excursions desk, nobody there seemed to have gone any the excursions or able to give any details as to what they're actually like. If that's your department you should at least know what you're selling. The casino was stained and smelled of old cigarette and cigar smell. On a plus note, Our dining room staff attendant we're amazing. And our room attendant was also equally is amazing. For the most part, I would give the staff a 5-star rating, and the boat a one-star. I later found out the boat was due to go into dry dock in the next few weeks and get a huge revamp however this was withheld at the time of booking otherwise I would not have booked a trip for my family or paid such a fee for a boat that was in complete disarray and in need of a major overhaul. A huge disappointment was there Private Island in Haiti, they allow local vendors. At this point they were so abrasive and aggressive, my small children were completely terrified. Also there's very few activities on their private island you can do without an additional cost and ridiculously high fees. Even on the jet ski excursion, they take you to an area where the vendors come up in bombard you with trying to sell local trinkets. I am beyond disappointed with Royal Caribbean's policies. I was not expecting an all-inclusive, but for the amount of money spent I would have expected basic amenities to be included. As for my kids, the kids clubs were of inappropriate age groupings, And lack supervision ... as I witnessed two different fights break out (at one point I had to intervene in order to end the conflict) and no security there to help in the teenage club which included my 12 and 13 year olds alongside 17 year olds. The entertainment for my nine-year-old consisted of one room with a few games in it. the basketball court was a complete chaotic mess as kids were trying to play soccer along other kids trying to play basketball. The ice rink was complete embarrassment and not even worth time. The pools started getting closed up by 9 pm. One evening they even kicked the parents out of the hot tubs by 10. all being said, I highly doubt I will ever return to a Royal Caribbean Cruise line ever again. Read Less

This ship is way below average and outrageously over priced. 1. Cabin inside is tiny old with broken closet broken chair. The Worst is horribly dirty moldy air filter making guests sick for three days w/o knowing the actual cause extremely harmful to health. 2. Grand Christmas Sail is a price gouging fraud. Customer relations staffs are very rude and irresponsible. 3. Lack of entertainments: singers on stage are out of tune, dancers cannot dance. Untalented live band only show up playing a few tunes. Performers are subpar to the extreme. 4. Foods qualities are poor. Very plain and tasteless. RCCL Majesty of Seas is a very bad ship unqualified for cruise. Other company's small ships are much better. Don't be fooled. 5. Customer relations lost the customers data on board the ship. Staff are ridiculously intimidating to me. They should at least apologize for their own mistakes instead of threatening guests. 6. Ship captain gives false weather report on the morning of port arrival. Just three hours after his "all day sunny no rain", pouring rain begins. Many guests don't have to leave umbrellas inside cabins. Cruise director is very lazy and rarely shows up for entertaining guests. All and all, RCCL Majesty of Seas is a huge failure! Read Less

We we're looking forward to a fun, relaxing cruise. Instead we got 5 days on a B-level floating mini mall. Let's discuss 'refurbished'. There is nothing new about this ship. Our rooms were dated, musty and stained. Likewise with the corridors, and facilities. We encountered mould problems in the bathroom, rock hard beds, and stained... everything. Some how the rooms are the highlight of the ship. The food was completely industrial, greasy, plastic, nasty, reheated. We mainly ate at the Windjammer, the main dining hall, where a heavy grease hung in the air due to poor ventilation. There was a respectful amount of reheated food to gorge yourself and try to salvage the trip. If the food, and rooms haven't scared you off, I'd invite you to the promenade. A boring and outdated bridge/entertainment area. Get ready for shopping at Michael Kors, boring pop/rock music from cover bands, and a selection of shows that where inspired by high school variety nights. We now arrive to the conclusion... For the price of our cruise, the never ending overinflated add-ons (resto's, internet, drinks, wine at dinner, arcade, shows, etc...), it's clear that Royal Caribbean is more interested in nickel and diming customers rather than providing a quality product. Full speed ahead away from this cruise. Read Less

As a Crown and Anchor Platinum member...the overall experience was horrible. The food was average at best. The biggest issue I had was that the service was just not even close to what Ive experienced on an RC cruise before. The employees just seemed like they were there to just get a paycheck. I called customer service to discuss my issues as a customer and I felt like they were dismissive and not interested in trying to help make things better. The employees spoke english but their accents were SO heavy you couldn't understand a word they said. We had 830pm dining room seating and didnt leave the table before 11 most nights and that was because the food never came out and when it came out it tasted average at best. The best tasting food on the cruise was at the Promenade. (the pizza) We went to Johnny Rockets and the service was so poor and the servers we couldn't understand the english they spoke because of their heavy accents. The service at the pool was non existent and the bars were overcrowded because of that. The Wifi for the first 3 days was intermittent at BEST. The internet manager spoke English but again couldn't understand what he was saying because of his thick accent. The photographers we had the same issue with. The 800 number is useless and I feel like an unvalued customer. Sorry RC Im going to start cruising elsewhere! Read Less

We have taken quite a few cruises - Princess for the Scandinavian cruise, Carnival for the Alaskan cruise, etc and this is by far the worst cruise we have taken. And it was a pity because Spectrum is probably the best equipped ship we have sailed with (hardware is very very good - lots of facilities, large rooms, etc.) BUT the software is horrible to say the least. 1) the wait for first dinner was totally unacceptable - it appeared someone miscalculated the crowd? How could that happen for a professional organization when you have the number of confirmed passengers on the cruise days ahead??? 2) The Best of Okinawa excursion was a mis-selling. You did not know the main building of Shuri Castle was burned down a few months ago? Yet, your people sold it as a visit to the old palace??? And the tour guide you hire rushed us through the itinerary so we could have lunch at about 3PM? This is the way a professional is supposed to plan a trip??? 3) The 6-hour Vigan City Highlight took around 1.5 hours to get to the town and back leaving us around 4.5 hours. And of the 4.5 hours, the tour guide left us shopping at a cobblestone street for 1.5 hours with all the shop pretty much selling the same merchandise and if you add 1 hour lunch time (where a disappointing lunch was provided), we really did not do much for the USD119/pax we paid!!! 4) The Subic Bay & Ocean Adventure Combo Tour was probably the worst mis-selling I have ever seen so far in my life. For a 5-hour excursion, we arrived at 10:29am and we only managed to get through the gate at 11:10 (wasting 40/300 = 13% of our time standing in line to try and get in) to watch the 11:30 Dolphin show followed by the 12:30 Sea Lion Show followed by 1:10pm "Runner up to Philippines have talent" Acrobat Show. We paid USD119/pax for something costing USD16/pax with no lunch time planned - we had to grab a hot dog ourselves during the Acrobat Show). We left for the "just as US Navy Seals and Special Forces Units, you'll learn how to mountaineer, identify wildlife, find portable water sources and build a fire using only dried bamboo" to watch the building fire bit only!!!!! The organizer may blamed it on the rain that day but the reality was, there was no time allocated for anything else except to watch the building fire bit! Again, we paid USD119/pax essentially for a Dolphin show, a Sea Lion show, an so-so Acrobat show and to witness how to start a fire using dry bamboo!!! 5) And the attitude of the employees on board the Spectrum was just incredible - with the exception of some of the employees during dinner on main dinning room on Deck 4, the rest of the employees seemed to have forgotten they were in the service industry??? Their attitude towards their passengers leave much room for improvement!!! This is the first time we have taken a cruise onboard a Royal Caribbean and I find it very strange that a brand name like Royal Caribbean allowed such poor standard to exist amongst your fleet. Totally disappointed!!!!!!!! Read Less

Bought a drink package but coffee shop close by 11am, ???? on a cruise ship and you pay US$35 a night for the soft drink package. After the volcano eruption incident, we were stuck in Tauranga for 2 extra days without much information. Not much effort in softening the sad situation with coffee shop close at the same time again. They even cancelled the highlight of the tour, they cancelled the trip to sounds and compensate one days of the cruise for the two days we lost, go figure on the math. They even accuse us being not human for not showing any sympathy on the people involve in the volcano incident. What a blow and insult, we were as badly affected as everyone but the cruise team did not provide any support; physiology, emotional or any at all. Don't think about going on Royal Caribbean cruise line unless you want to find hair in food and cloth napkins, flies crawling on food at the buffet and to top it all off biten by bed bugs and then by fleas. We started off our cruise by being excited to finally get away looking forward to 5 days off nothing but relaxing and fun. We arrived on ship and went to have a snack at the buffet while we waited for our room. When I unravelled my silverware I found a black hair on the cloth napkin. So I got a different set. Later that evening we went for dinner at the buffet and once again I got another black hair in the cloth napkin. 6 times in five days I received the black hair gift and twice in my food. My husband for breakfast waited in line for his omelet when it was his turn he asked the man for a 2 egg omelet but to please crack him two real eggs in the pan the man told him that the eggs that they had already in the bowl were real eggs my husband said I'm not doubting it I just like to see my eggs cracked in front of me the man kept telling him that the eggs in the bowl were real eggs and that it was those or nothing so my husband left without an omelet. next morning the same thing on the third day was different man he also told him the same thing. Then after a while the man said that he could make him 2 Sunnyside up eggs and put the toppings he wants on the side. We don't see what the difference is if he just scrambled them if he could do them Sunnyside up? When we were sitting at the table eating breakfast one of the person's who takes your dirty dishes and cleans the table walks past as someone had dropped some scrambled eggs on the floor he bent down and put his tray edge on the floor and took his pink cloth and wiped it on the dirty carpet to pick up the eggs shooked the eggs on the tray, wiped the carpet some more and then went to a table and wiped it off with the same pink cloth he just wiped the dirty carpet with. Everytime we went to the buffet for lunch or dinner there was always flies especially where the cheese was. We even told the workers and they said nothing not even swoosh them off. So we decided to eat only in the dining room. We ordered calamari for our appetizer we receive it ice cold so we both sent them back and asked if they could please make sure for it to be hot when we got the second calamari they were completely burned. one night there was a hair in our table cloth we told the assistant waiter and he came with his mini squeegi and tried to squeegi it off finally he took it off with his finger and threw it on the floor and then set our silverware on top of where he just removed the hair. Another time we were in the dining room and there was 4 dirty tables around us which remained dirty even when we were walking out but while we were there another server came over to one of the dirty tables and took off two glasses and placed them on a different table that they were setting up for new people. Now the fun part begins on the second day I noticed that the sheets had shifted and looks like they were falling off so I took the sheets off to straighten the bed when I saw the mattress pad was full of stains I showed my husband his eyes widen with disbelieve said what disgusting filth immediately he went in the hallway to ask who is the one who cleans our room when the man came we sowed him the mattress pad and wanted to know how they could even think about using such disgust. He said that he would contact the supervisor and get a different one for us and clean the room. That night I woke up itching my stomach I finally got up and went to the bathroom to see why I was itching. To my horror I see 3 black things on my stomach I pulled them off and set them on a piece of toilet paper put on my glasses to exam them and they had legs. So I woke up my husband and showed him he said these are bed bugs I showed him the bites where they were. we washed the bites and then I put Santi gel on them. Now who could sleep after that. We told the cleaning guy and he got the supervisor she came and looked at the bites and she took picture of the bed bugs to send to man to exam, she told us that they will thoroughly clean the room for us. My husband said no he wants to fly home but they said Costa Maya where we were supposed to be enjoying the day doesn't have an airport and they don't have a different room to move us to. My husband said for our safety and health that we were not staying in that room another night. We would take are stuff and sleep on the deck and tell everyone why we are here on the deck before we would sleep again in that room. The supervisor said to give her a minute she said they were going to move us to a different room. By this time it was too late to go down and sightsee so we decided to go and lay in the sun. while laying in the sun I started to get bit on my legs I moved and finally slapped my leg the people next to us asked if we were getting bit also. I finally killed a bug we all examined it and it was a flea. so we all left. While we were walking on the 7th floor we walked into this strong nose hair twitching smell we started walking faster but the more we walked the stronger the smell then we came across a plywood box that said for animals droppings we went inside to get away from the smell every once in awhile we got a wiff of that nose hair twitching smell. Obviously that box has never been cleaned. We went back again to see the ship doctor for them to look at the bites the first time no one there they said out for lunch the 2nd time they were medically debarkng someone and doc unavailable. How can you trust someone with your health when all they are doing is lying. First no room to move you then one magically appears when we begin taking our stuff to sleep on the deck, found no bugs in room but had three on me and bites to show with the pictures we took. We left the so called relaxing cruise with our stuffed wrapped in garbage bags biten by bed bugs and fleas only to have our stuff special treated to be sure no bugs or lavare in the clothes and suitcases and our vehicle fogged in case. when we called Royal Caribbean for our money back they said they can only give us their apologize. We could of stayed in the backyard enjoyed ourselves a few 6 packs and grilled something. It would of cost us alot less and have been more relaxing and wouldn't have the marks on my stomach from the bed bugs bite until now Read Less

I came on allure of the seas in March of 2019 and I had an amazing experience. I told my other daughter about our great experience and convinced her to go on the same cruise. But this experience was TERRIBLE as I joined her for my second cruise in less than a year!!!!!!! First off, our sailing locations were changed. In addition to that, I requested that we have a room in the middle of the boat on the 14th deck, but we were at the back of the ship. I booked this cruise early enough in advance to secure the room I wanted. However, I was on the back end. Activities ended on day 3 of our 7 day cruise which is totally unfair and doesn’t make any sense. Johnny rockets was not busy and we were not served until I went and contacted a manager. We chose to pay extra for dinner but there was no staff to assist!!! And to top it off, when we finally got our food, there was a rotten tomato on my burger!! Also, the buffet was absolutely disgusting!!!! The quality of the food and smell when you entered was horrible! How are ppl expected to eat that yucky food when they pay top dollar to have a great experience??!!!! The photographers were not pleasant to work with. You could tell they were just getting the pictures done and our pictures quality were horrible!! Guest services insulted us when we tried to address issues we had. They pretty much said deal with it and had an oh well attitude! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CRUISE OR CRUISE LINE FOR ANYBODY!!! DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! Read Less

By far worst cruise i have been on. I took off work for 7 days for this cruise and it was horrible. I understand weather but it should have just got cancelled altogether. I am a mom and can only do vacation one time a year. The staff are very rude and i had my food before my drinks n i had to get the head waiter to get our drinks. We got to nassaeu for only 1 hour n had to pay port services and we couldnt do anything for one hour. I am very frustrated.I felt unsafe a couple of times. My own daughter told me that she wanted to go to the room because she wa s scared of everyone yelling n screaming n a fighy almost happenend n no secuirty or staff around on deck 2 n i had to call security n of course they took their good old time. I have never complained. I would like some kind of money back. One day cruise credit for 2 days we missed out on is not fair. Staff was very rude throughput cruise. They dont care about their passengers. I will never go on this ship again Read Less

I tried to ignore all of the negative reviews on Yelp and TripAdvisor and focused on the positive reviews and I chose to book this vacation for our family. My 11 year old twins loved this cruise line because of the water park at CocoCay. I chose this itinerary because it include a Perfect Day at CocoCay. The employees on the ship have a very easy time saying NO. No, I cannot have a fancy glass unless I order that specific drink (my $10 drink come in a plastic cup), NO, I cannot pour your wine in the dining room, unless you want me to ask a manager. Please accept their apologies that 1) we had to wait in a warehouse like room for hours because the ship entered the port late due to weather 2) that we verified that you were told on the phone that the water park was included (it is a additional $95 pp - we will give you a $175 excursion credit, after you were on the phone for an hour begging). 3) that we verified that you were told tips will be a total of $74 (charged $300) 4) that the ship had to be rerouted to Nassau because CocoCay had bad weather (this I understand), they returned the $175 excursion credit to the account that we had used for a helium balloon ride experience, they offered a list of new excursions for the Bahamas, none at the cost of $175 or lower. When we asked if there were any discounts that can be applied, the excursion rep said boldly that NO concessions will be made. When we went to guest services they said the excursion prices are higher because we are coming to the shore on short notice, so we should understand that, NO excursions will be priced differently to meet our budget. 5) This is a big one, when we booked with the rep over the phone we were given a $175 onboard credit, different than the excursion credit - this was very confusing to the guest service reps - they are telling us that we spent it, well this is day 1 and we didn't spend it. After hours at the guest service desk over the next several day they finally figured it out... because a couple days after the we booked the cruise, I called to let them know I saw a lower rate, they repriced the cruise and credited our credit card for the $37 price difference... by doing this we lost the promotional $175 onboard credit. Yes, everyone agrees that doesn't make sense. Yes, they did verify that I spoke with a rep 3 days before the cruise to verify that I was checked in and we discussed the tips, and the $175 onboard credit. NO, no way can they give that credit to us because we did save the $37... NO, they cannot change that! Apologies yes, making things right, NO. I really would love to be told one thing and the company to back that up. Super sad. I cried because I didn't want to worry about money while on the cruise. I worked a lot of extra hours to pay for this cruise and just wanted to sit back and relax. I was sad that the kids were not able to go on a different excursion when the balloon ride was cancelled. The ship is old and it shows. There are a lot of paint ships and broken things, gum under the bed frame, stickers on the bed frame, worn carpeting with strings hanging over, super slippery decks with few non stick mats, chipped plates, scratched windows and such. The room was the size of a shoe box, okay a little bigger. I have been on several cruises and this was the worst by far. Normally the staff, overall, makes you feel like royalty, this time I felt like a beggar. On the upside, our servers Amary and Dwayne, were very nice, as was our cabin steward. I got it together, we are on vacation and had a great time anyway. The shows were good. The pool, although small, was clean. NO, don't jump into the 6 foot section, NO don't use those googles. The kids loved the hot tubs and there were 4 of them. My daughter must have done the rock wall 50 times! Charles and the other employee were so nice and gave her many new challenges. My son and I danced to the live band and piano players and my husband and I strolled the deck under the stars. There was plenty of food options available all day, no one went hungry. Sometimes we were thirsty though, the only place to get the free drinks (iced tea, lemonade or water) was on the 11th and 12th floor restaurant areas. We were on the 2nd floor. The kids liked the kids club, looked like they were mostly video gaming so they only went twice. No bill under door on the last night / morning of check out so I have know idea what I will be charged. The line at guest service was so long, everyone was complaining about their bills, someone said they have been waiting for 2 hours in line. From my guest service experience, I'm sure nothing could be done about anything they were disputing, NO. So I chose not to wait in the line, NOPE! I will cruise again, but not with Royal Caribbean, that is for sure. Read Less

I returned home today from a 8 night 9 day cruise to the South Pacific, on probably day 3 our living hell began, two women who myself and my children did not know only from bumping in to while I was on the smoking deck began to abuse me and stalk Harass intimidate and bully us , the women abused us so badly in the formal dining room my 12 year old daughter almost vomited all over the table she cried so hard , waiters stood and watched it took me to yell for security to drag them out , I had my life threatened. We could not attend events as the women would abuse us , my children were intimidated and bullied from enjoying activities, each time myself and my children begged security for help but only told to report in writing, staff told me to be the bigger person and walk away .. to were they followed us , these women had free rang while we were like caged rats , this abuse was constant for 5/6 days and still nothing was done , last night we had to lock ourselves in our room for 3 hours missing out on the main final party , this cruise is what my children picked for their Xmas present and all they got was a lack of duty of care to protect them from incredible abuse , this was our first holiday and the memory of it’s hell will last a life time , my children are scared to ever get on a shop or trust security to protect them from violent people, as a mother to see my children in fear and beg security for help and receive nothing will never leave me , my daughter who is 12 had a safe place the art gallery and shops but they found her hiding spot , I have spoke to royal cars Caribbean who did not care , what my children have endured and myself but certainly cared about paying our bill , I have contacted a solicitor to fight for my children’s rights because royal Caribbean certainly did not . I just want to warn anyone traveling on Anthem of the Seas, please learn how to look for bed bugs before you suffer the stress of being exposed to them. I am in constant fear that my home will be impacted. I experienced the horror of finding bed bugs crawling on the sheet of my bed. I killed one and scooped up another and took it to guest services in a plastic bag. We were exposed for days and it is absolutely unacceptable! We were moved to another cabin and our clothes were washed. I have reached out to Royal Caribbean to find out how my luggage was treated but they have not responded. My luggage is outside and will remain there until I decontaminate it myself or dispose of it. In addition to the bed bugs, the cabin sink drain and shower drain were full of mold. It makes me wonder if any cleaning took place at all. A far as the other aspects of the cruise, dining was okay. Some of the entertainment was good. Some was not so good. We did not like Spectra's Cabaret but The Gift was okay and We Will Rock You was good. My kids enjoyed the indoor skydiving as well as the activities in the Sea Plex. Getting on and off the ship was quick and easy. Service overall was fine but we did have difficulty making a reservation for specialty dining. We had a voucher that they would not honor. I had to go to guest services and have them intervene in order to make the reservation. I thought many of the excursions were on the expensive side and I also thought Co Co Cay was crowded when were there as two ships were in port. I took a while for us to find empty lounge chairs. I am not crazy about the fact that the ship visited Nassau as there is currently a travel warning about violent crime in Nassau. Read Less

The only thing I can say good about our cruise is that my teenage boys room steward, Rouston Rodrigues was Amazing. He not only cleaned my teenage boys room, made them animal towels, but interacted with them and my husband and myself throughout every day of our cruise. My husband and I saw our steward, Wilfred (I believe that was his name) only once when we boarded. In the Great Gatsby dining room, Shereen, our waiter and Noemi her assistant waiter always greeted us with a smile and was always courteous and generous with their time. We tipped all three of these employees very generously. We also appreciated that a RC employee was there tomake everyone hand sanitize before entering the Windjammer buffet. Sadly, many cruisers refused the hand sanitizer. Now, for the down side of our family trip. They was very little activitys to do, (for our teenage boys, my husband and myself) activity wise, unless my teenagers wanted to learn to dance the tango, attend wine tasting classes (they are only 14 and 15 yrs old) or play bingo. The rock climbing wall stayed closed throughout the entire cruise, They were told that they were “too young” (they are 14 and 15 yrs old) to workout in the gym and the shuffle board on top of the ship was always, “saved” for other adult cruisers. Both my boys were thrown out of the Solarium 3 times by different RC employees (they were just walking through the solarium to go to the Park Cafe for a snack, as unlike on other cruise lines, RC Grandeur of the Seas does NOT have a variety of food stations/restaurants open 24 hours a day). The food on the entire ship was subpar to mediocre at best. On more occasions than frankly I care to admit, in the Windjammer cafe, I witnessed passengers eating off their plates while still in line, contaminating the food in the buffet trays with their germs and actually verbally fighting and pushing people out of the way to get to the food. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. Finding seating was nearly impossible in the Windjammer Cafe and my family of 4 (when we didn’t eat in the Gatsby dining room) usually had to eat out in the pool area. Speaking of the pool area, the pool was mysteriously closed twice during our cruise and only the hot tubs were available for use. Every cruiser I spoke to was annoyed and going “crazy” watching the big TV screen play the same dog/cat/little boy UTube video over and over and over and over at nauseaum. The same video played over and over for 8 days straight!! The only thing that my teenagers did enjoy was the Karaoke each nite, but unfortunately it was from 10pm to 11:30pm and run by a different RC employee each nite. On 2 occasions, other cruisers rudely told my teenage boys to leave the Pacific showroom where the Karaoke took place. Fortunately, I was there and my teenage sons were allowed to stay and participate. In the casino every day/nite was an extremely intoxicated male cruiser being extremely disrespectful to RC women employees and guests. Making sexual innuendos and being extremely rude, loud and insulting. Not one RC employee said anything to him, “because the cruiser is always right”. After witnessing this behavior for 2 nights, my husband finally said something to him. He became louder and even more aggressive and belligerent. He even told my husband to “step outside so he could teach him a lesson as he was going to whip his ass”. The male passenger was 60-70 yrs of age and my husband is 50 and a Lt. with the Baltimore City fire department. The pit boss finally stepped in and the man was asked to leave. Everyone, RC employees and cruiser alike thanked my husband profusely because they (the employees felt they couldn’t really do or say anything, because they are taught to bend over backwards for the guests) and the other cruisers were shocked and intimidated by this man and were apparently afraid to intervene. Sadly, the very next day and night the same drunk, sexually inappropriate, loud mouthed bully was at it again and allowed to continue that behavior for the rest of the cruise. Many cruisers said they stopped gambling all together or just all together refused to be at the same table with that loud mouth, sexual predator. I have cruised other lines, the last being 4 months ago on Carnival Pride. It’s a smaller ship, but the food was impeccable, the service amazing and there was always an activity and something fun to do, whether you were young, old or somewhere in between. The Pride also has a pizza place (Pizza Pirate) that is open 24 hours a day, along with Guy Ferri burgers and fries and the Blue iguana (Mexican food) along with their massive buffet. On other cruise line, you can get coffee, hot choclate, tea, lemonade and even ice, 24 hours a day or nite without having to call room service. Sadly, RC doesn’t offer these amenities. As for “A perfect day at CoCo Cay”, we were very disappointed. We did have beautiful weather and we were the only ship in port so it was not crowded. My husband did the Pig Island excursion, swam with the pigs and loved it. My teenage boys and I stayed behind on CoCo Cay island. I do NOT understand why RC (who owns COCO Cay island) feels the need to charge their cruisers to pay an extra fee for the “thrill island” side. RC OWNS the island, and as cruisers, we have already paid for the cruise. We didn’t pay extra to go to Naussa, Port Canaveral or Charleston. This is RC just trying to fleece more money off of their cruisers. When my family and I cruised Carnival Pride 4 months ago, we went to Half Moon Cay. (The island that Carnival owns). As cruisers, we were NOT charged for anything on the island that Carnival owns. Food was served at no extra charge, they had a band playing on the beach, and many of their Carnival employees were there interacting with the guests, playing sand and water games and truly getting to know each and every one of us. Even more disappointing and reprehensible is the fact that because we were the only ship at COCO Cay, they kept discounting the “thrill side” of the island from the original excursion price to a mere $10 by 2pm (the ship departed at 6pm) because NO ONE was on the “thrill side” of the island. The cabanas go for up to $300 on the beach. Because we were the only ship in port, people used the cabanas for FREE, while others got stuck having already paid for the $300 cabanas up front. It seems to me, and many of the RC cruisers my husband and I spoke to throughout our 8 day cruise, that RC is just out to make a quick buck and do the bear minimum. On other cruise lines, the mustered drill is 20-30 minutes long at a minimum. Our drill was 5 minutes long (if that) and it was to just electronically buzz everyone’s sail and sign card. They never even showed us how to put on a life jacket! My husband and I were in one room, with our teen age boys next door, yet we were assigned different mustered stations!! The Centrum is absolutely tooooo small as people saved seats and the same people were down there each and every night to listen to the band. Most the cruisers had to watch standing up, leaning on the railings or pull up chairs on the upper railings (all the way to floor 8), to watch and listen from afar. The comedy was awful (we had three comedians on our 8 day cruise). The ship board “broadway show” had to be cancelled because of an illness of one of the RC employees. The show went on the following nite, but it was definitely subpar and many people walked out by the middle of the show. All and all, I have sailed on many cruise lines, and RC is by far the worst. I even had an employee tell me that they really didn’t care about anymore of the Grandeur of the Seas sailings, as a “rich sheik had just purchased the ship for himself and his 158 wives and children and the ship was being sold and retired at the end of the 2019”. That was a very disappointing and upsetting comment to hear. My husband and I were also told that RC was a “step up” in clientele, sophistication, and class. On every other cruise line we have sailed on, formal night meant just that.... dressing up. Apparently NOT on the Grandeur of the Seas. Cruisers were in the main dining room (the Great Gatsby) in SHORTS on both formal nites!!! On any other cruise line, that would not have been allowed and they would have been asked to change. I could continue on, but I think I have made my point regarding our below par family trip on RC. It’s sad when my teenage boys stated once we returned home that they would have rather NOT missed school and 8 days of homework than to have gone on this specific cruise. Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions regarding our subpar vacation. Read Less

My husband and I cruise a lot. We have cruised on Carnival, MSC, Norwegian and Royal Caribbean. I think about 15 in total. We have only been on Royal Caribbean twice. This last time we went on Harmony of the Seas. The ship was beautiful but it was just another cruise ship. We did not like that we had to make reservations for the shows prior to departing. While at sea one of our shows was cancelled and the new time for us was at 10 pm. We had our small grandchildren with us so this time was not good so we missed the show we really wanted to see. The food was pretty good and the shows that we did get to see were good. The cabin- a balcony- was typical. The ship, although it did have all the bells and whistles, was pretty much the same as all the other ships. We found that unlike MSC or even Carnival, Royal Caribbean over charges for everything and they automatically add tips onto EVERY little thing. THey even charged a tip on a little overly priced plain popcorn that we purchased for our grandsons to have during a show. Carnival gave us popcorn for free. We did not like that our grandsons were too small to go on the water slides- even though they were big enough on the Carnival Breeze. In fact, the water park on the Carnival Breeze was far superior to the Harmony. BUT, the main reason we are giving only one star is because when we returned home we were charged $200 for a deposit on a future cruise. Neither I nor my husband authorized this. We had not been interested in a future cruise at the time of the cruise. We had JUST returned from a European MSC cruise (AWESOME EXPERIENCE-LOVE MSC) So, although we are planning on a cruise out of China, that is not for at least another year. When we called Royal Caribbean to inquire about the charge we were basically told that the charge was NON REFUNDABLE! HUH? How is a charge that neither I nor my husband authorized be non refundable? When we departed the ship we were given a printout of our charges and nowhere was there a mention of a future cruise deposit. Well after an hour on the phone only to be accused of having second thoughts and therefore wanting our money back we hung up on Royal Caribbean. We immediately filed a complaint with the BBB and contacted our credit card company. Now, our future cruises will definitely be on different cruise line. Shame on Royal Caribbean for treating their customers so rudely. NEVER AGAIN ROYAL CARIBBEAN! Read Less

If you want to pay a lot for a low-cost rip-off cruise in a dated ship and very few activities - this is the ship for you. Six 1 liter bottles of water for 39 USD?? come on. We were on a family vacation (4 families with young kids) and booked a cruise via an agent (who was supposed to help find the right ship) on a home for the elderly cruise with cheap food, very little activities and dated design. If it was not a multi family trip I would have just disembarked with my family on the third day and fly back home. I would have never believed i am boarding a low cost rip-off cruise where if you want to have something eatable for dinner you must pay extra. We had several main complaints - Food - huge amount of low quality food, no proper salads, no health food, very very disappointing!! you have healthier food at McDonald's. Agent in Israel - not nice and not informative. would not help or give basic detail on the ship (like the type of electric sockets in the room, activities... we will definitely take the time to give them the worst review online once i am done with this survey to warn others). Up Sales - 6 bottles of water for 39 USD?? come on. we don't consume much sugar and do not drink fuzzy drinks, so only water which came at an insane cost. video arcade that charges 2 USD per game - no wonder it was empty the entire trip. The rooms were not clean - mainly under the beds, the railing of the balcony door, minibar in both rooms was not cooling. at that point we got tired of complaining. Pools - very small pools with one small pathetic water slide. no indoor kids pool for colder days. our neighborhood pool has more facilities and a private pool at home is bigger. Activities - no real activities for kids, no space for the kids to play next to the parents while the adults are having a break. in general, handling the kids on the cruise was a nightmare, we were lucky we brought our own games from home. Some good things - Service was very good especially from the dinner restaurant staff. the crew is well organised and managed. The experience with them was so bad, i prefer to spend my money somewhere else. SO SO VERY DISAPPOINTED!! Royal Caribbean may have got us tricked and got our money this time, but we will learn for the future and not trust this company again. Read Less

The ship itself is so boring, never anything to do, pool is tiny and always closed. Food was also inedible, including the fancy dinner place that served essentially freezer dinner quality food, with poor service that messed everything up every night. Rude staff everywhere. No disability accommodations at all. Also we were 1.5 hours late to our destination and no compensation for missing out on our plans. Awful experience overall and I would not even let my worst enemies go on this cruise. I would not even pay 20$ for this cruise. I am never going with Royal Carribean after this. I would rather swim to shore and risk my life than spend another minute of my life aboard this ship. You have been warned!! Read Less
