The excursions were fun and affordable. The ship's staff were friendly and seemed to work hard, however they seemed tense around the management. The tension gave a cold feeling to the cruisers. Room was nicely laid out, we had a balcony room. The room steward was wonderful. We didn't expect so many kids in January since there wasn't much for them to do, but there were many kids. The teenagers ...
Casino Comp - Quick getaway
This was our second cruise on Allure and I was initially excited to have an Oasis Class ship with the quick weekend getaways close to home. That being said - We both liked it, but can't say that we loved it. Would I go on her again? Absolutely, but wouldn't be my first choice.
The Good and the "Meh"
Cabins: (this time a 1 BR Aqua, last time Jr. Suite) ...
This was our first time with RCL. We've cruised on Princess and Celebrity. Our first impression is that this is a BIG ship!!! So we went into it knowing navigating around would require time. Our cabin was about in the middle and around the corner of the elevators. I was concerned about noise but none was noticed. A few random thoughts/points/observations:
- The solarium which is suppose to ...
This was our first cruise in 4 years & we had a wonderful time. It was our 3rd time on Anthem of the Seas. Our 19 year old son loves all the sports fun in the Seaplex, we liked the North Star experience, the shows, service, etc. Boarding the ship was done very efficiently. We had a balcony room that was really nice.
The food choices have really been cut back, especially for the gluten free ...
My family and I had one table in the main dining room on the first day. By day 3, we were assigned a different table. When we arrived at our new table the service was insistent we were at the wrong table. He sent us upstairs to the other dining room and they sent us back downstairs to the table we were assigned to. That was miscommunication between staff would should have been sorted out prior to ...
TL;DR Our extended family of 13 (ages 2-77) took a five night cruise 12/28/23-1/2/24 on Independence of the Seas. Overall, we found the ship to be fun, the crew to be friendly and helpful, and dining to be adequate. Shows were good, (with one exception), and there always seemed to be something for most of us to do. Our biggest complaint would be issues with the release of information prior ...
I chose this cruise because of Splashaway Bay for my 7 year old and because the ship was going to CoCo Cay. This review is about some very specific items and excursion options.
1. Soda package. Pros: The cups are nice and we'll be able to continue using them at home. Discovered Peach Fanta! Easily the best Fanta now. And many options available. Cons: In retrospect, not worth the $10 a day. We ...
After previously sailing on the Symphony of the Seas, I thought this was going to be a let down for the family but we were pleasantly surprised. Although smaller in size and less things to do, we still enjoyed ourselves. The service and friendliness of the staff throughout the entire ship was top notch.
With a family of 5, we booked a junior suite and an interior room. Being an older ship, the ...
Highs-
Ship: the ship is great, although slightly more outdated in certain areas compared to Freedom of the Seas
Staff: all super friendly, accessible, and helpful
Itinerary: for those who are active, having no full days at sea was really nice if you tend to get a little bored on the ship or need constant activity. We had a day at CocoCay and a day at Nassau
Food: main dining room was ...
Overall the cruise was fun. The crew was great and did a good job. Cabin attendant did a great job. Our balcony cabin on deck 11 was awesome. Good view. Shows were awesome! Especially the skating and aqua shows. Drinks seemed watered down. The only thing that was disappointing was the food. Windjammer was the worst we have experienced in 6 cruises. Stopped going there after day 2. Johnny Rockets ...
