Hmmn. The good - Great service by the crew who work hard to keep us all happy. Good food overall in the main restaruant, though I think Carnival do a far better job at the bistro. Chops Grill was fantastic at breakfast. No passnegrs were to be seen at Johnny Rockets. Those who went reported back on bad food. The pools were great.. This is one thing RC have all over Carnival. The pools are ...

This was our 1st cruise with Royal Caribbean having previously traveled with most of the other major cruise lines. In general we were somewhat disappointed with the cruise and particularly the on board service and the lack of entertainment options during the day. Also as a person who has enjoyed craft activities on other cruises it was disappointing that participating in this activity incurred a ...

11 night cruise Dubai to Singapore. Stayed 3 nights in Dubai at the Intercontinental Festival city pre cruise which I would highly recommend. Embarkation at the Dubai terminal seemed a crazy mixup of disorganised chaos, however I can honestly say that it all worked fine for us. I have a mobility issue & the staff checked me in quickly & I was on board the ship within about a half hour. I did ...

Occupied level 9 Cabin with veranda. Cruise commenced Barcelona with various brief stops and concluded in Fremantle Australia. Pros 1. Cabin well appointed serviced by excellent staff. 2. Excellent wait staff in dining rooms. Cons 1. Embarkation took over 3 hours. Disembarkation was reasonable. 2. Emergency drill was so inept that only those on the bridge had any chance od ...

Good Cruise, but a Few Missed Opportunities for Royal Caribbean

It has been on my bucket list for years to sail thru the Suez Canal and my husband and I decided to book on Explorer of the Seas sailing from Barcelona. Embarkation was fairly swift and our balcony cabin was excellent. It was kept very clean & tidy by our Cabin Steward (Jose). We opted for My Time Dining and had no problems booking our desired time for dinner in the dining room. We ...

Terrible Cruise

(1) Impossible to communicate with the home office in Miami. Very poor customer service. (2) Check in at the port in Barcelona took forever. RCL's employee was letting all Platinum and above members through, while keeping the line for the Gold members at a standstill. It was faster going through the line for people who were not Crown and Anchor members at all. (3) The balcony was covered ...

One can see why RCL has a lot of loyal cruisers...lots of glitz and fun atmosphere. It appears the Diamond cruisers privilege include unlimited free alcohol from 5 pm to 8:30 pm. Many of the Diamond cruisers could be easily identified. It appears non Diamond cruisers are paying for the alcohol for the Diamond holders. There are extra charges for many things (galley tour, sushi, arts and crafts, ...

THIS cruise was certainly a weird one, perhaps memorable more for the things that went wrong than right. It was our first run-out with Royal Caribbean (although our 13th cruise in all) unimaginatively entitled “14-night Suez Canal Cruise on Explorer of the Seas” from October 9 to 23, 2015. What first made it attractive to us was the visit to Israel and an excursion to Jerusalem, a trip down ...

Lovely Ship, But.......

I joined this cruise in Barcelona and spent the night before embarkation at the Barcelona Airport Hotel. Excellent value for money with breakfast, transfers from the airport and to the port included. Nice room and good restaurant. Now for the cruise, my first ever with Royal Caribbean and possibly my last. Explorer of the Seas is a lovely ship, but unless you are into outdoor activities, ...

We have been "Loyal to Royal" for over 20 years. This was the worst cruise of our life. Cruise Director poor at best. When describing Suez Canal all that was said was " sand and more sand, lots of sand". Would have been nice to have commentary while transiting canal but we got nothing. Our toilet kept flushing on its own every night except the last 3 nights. Overflowed once. Food in dining ...
