We don't like flying so this ship sails out of the NY area. The ship itself is starting to look a bit worn. Our Balcony cabin was very nice. Every time you called the front desk from our room there was always a few minute wait. This carried on though out the ship as it holds 4,600 guest and 1500 crew. Anywhere you went on the ship you were always bucking big crowds. Especially at dinner, we ...
We chose this cruise mostly based on itinerary as we have sailed the Caribbean many times but have never been to St Croix or Tortola. Despite the heading saying this was a 5 day it was a 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise. This was our second cruise on the Adventure, the last one being about 6 1/2 years ago. The cruise itself we found to be quite boring. Most things are surrounded around childen and ...
We love Royal Caribbean, we've sailed tons of times. This cruise was different, room was only cleaned once a day, dirty towels left from day to day. Asked crew member about the captain and they didn't know his name or anything about him. Dinner service was the worst, no personal interaction, no jokes, no laughter...just very cold compared to all previous ships. We had been told on the phone ...
This 9 night cruise has me very torn…first off, I’m still on the ship. We return tomorrow and I’m kind of cruised out. We had a great time but there are a few things that weren’t as expected. First off, this is my 5th RC cruise. My expectations were high as I’ve had such wonderful experiences on my past cruises. Getting on the ship in Bayonne was perfect. We arrived at the port at 10 am. ...
We did a 7 night cruise to the USVI, BVI, and Bahamas. The ship overall does need to be updated but does have a lot of amenities. The staff were all nice, friendly and helpful. The buffet food was just ok but Chops and Giovanni’s restaurant were good! On our floor deck 8.. there were a lot of kids running through the halls and slamming doors constantly. I did notify our state room attendant and ...
Embarkation was very smooth, one of quickest ever had. Cabins were not opened until 1:30 pm we were onboard before noon. Since you do not get your onboard cards until get to room you use your cabin number to charge drinks until then. Menus and most information all on RCL App with they tell you is mandatory to download before cruising. Pays to do it as speeds embarkation too. Yes you can cruise ...
I traveled the largest (by number of Passengers) ship in the world. There are 5 Oasis class ships. Each newer ship has more passengers, RCL did not significantly change the size of the ships, so how do they fit in more passengers? They have deleted or shrunk the public space to fit in more cabins. All of the specialty coffee locations are gone. The Cafe Prominade is still there with long lines. ...
We are empty nesters and this is our 24th cruise. We are a low key couple and we are not foodies, to us Longhorn Steakhouse provides a good steak (to give you an idea of our expectations).
Embarkation and Debarkation were a breeze. Truly effortless.
We had a balcony cabin and loved it. We were just steps from the entrance to the Boardwalk, Schooner Bar and other great venues. The ...
Went on the 9 day Eastern Caribean cruise to Bermuda, Labadee, La Romana and Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. While the cruise was nice and we had good weather, there lacks the specialness of pre-pandemic cruising. Still had a good time but things could be better.
Pluses:
We had a balcony which is always the best way to go if you can afford it
Crew was always friendly with a ...
This ship has a lot of positive coverage on YouTube, but we feel the reality fell short. The main problem was the lack of ocean views and this is probably the main reason we didn’t enjoy the cruise compared to smaller ships. The only place with good water views is the buffet. Everywhere else feels like a high end mall or Las Vegas. If you don’t have a balcony room, you can easily go the whole day ...
