We are a couple from the Netherlands and have had some cruises done already. This was our first transatlantic cruise and our first cruise out of Denmark.
We flew in 2 nights before and stayed in area close to the port. The metro was very conveniently located in 2 minutes walking distance from our hotel. The same metro we could use to get to the free port shuttle bus.
Fantastic itinerary ...
We booked this cruise well over a year before it left. The primary reason we chose this cruise was the stop in St Petersburg, Russia. Of course that was cancelled and while we considered canceling our trip as well, we didn't and I am so glad we didn't. While we were disappointed in the loss of that port I think that the itinerary was made up with the addition of Germany and Poland. While I do ...
So, I said I would be back soon. After a week home for work. It was time to walk the gangway again on Voyager of the seas. This time by my partner in-crime. Mr Norwaylady.
He was super excited to finally walk the gangway again after 2.5 years and lots of cancelled cruises…. So his point of excitement and expectations was as mine last trip, it’s a CRUISE.
And the ports of call, area was not ...
I always wanted to cruise the Norwegian Fjords and this cruise suited my available dates. I travelled with my teenage niece who was cruising for the first time - it was my 4th cruise holiday and first one with Royal Caribbean. The ship is impressive overall though, on closer inspection, is showing some signs of wear and tear. I was impressed with cabin size. The evening entertainment was good ...
Chose this cruise due to its unique ports of call and its timing with school holidays . We are aa family of 5 and booked two cabins one balcony and one internal cabin opposite each other. Ship appeared modern and well maintained, as its a smaller boat only additional activities offered are put put golf and rock climbing .
Boarding was poor , we purchased the Key program which was meant to give ...
This is one of my favorite parts of the world and traveling into the fjords was a treat. The bright days and white nights near the summer solstice is a great time to see the scenery.
RCL has done this for a long time and with a lot of ships. Most things they have right, but some improvement is still possible. One example is the sail in to Geiranger, our first stop. The ride in is simply ...
This was our first cruise, so my comments may sound as if I am a greenhorn – which I am as far as cruises are concerned.
The cruise was on the "Serenade of the Seas" (Royal Caribbean) on the Baltic Sea from Copenhagen stopping at Stockholm, Tallinn, St. Petersburg and Helsinki, then returning to Copenhagen.
The ship is huge (though I was told there are even bigger), well-organized, clean, ...
We have been on one other cruise with RCI (Explorer of the seas) and chose this cruise mainly for the itinerary , but also because we had a good experience previously with RC and lastly because the ship is slightly smaller.
The booking process went well and communication pre cruise was very good. We booked flights and an overnight stay in Copenhagen as part of the package. The hotel in ...
We chose this cruise because of the 3 days in St Petersburg and we weren’t disappointed. All ports of call were interesting and the ship itself clean and tidy with mostly friendly staff and excellent food. We were disappointed that WiFi was not included and that a whopping 18% added to bar tabs but suppose this is true of most cruise lines. A small minority of staff did not convey a ‘pleased to ...
I chose this cruise because it gave us more time in Copenhagen before the cruise, and in Stockholm at the end of the cruise. Both cities are fantastic with a lots to see and do. We spent 3 days in Copenhagen, and used Free Walking tours guides, they were fantastic! Everybody speaks excellent English and people were generally friendly. Be prepared however for a very expensive city! The port is ...
