We chose this tour specifically to see Iceland. Unfortunately, the entire first day it rained and the second day was not much better. The third day was fine. Obviously, the cruise line cannot be responsible for the weather.
The 5 days at sea were a little long, but we new that in advance.Once again, not the fault of the cruise line.
We missed the daily newsletter that they used to offer. ...
Excellent service, food and entertainment, but we chose this cruise for the itinerary (which included Iceland). Taking a northern cruise in late August/early September limits your pool time somewhat, but it is a great time to be walking through ports. Repositioning cruises with multiple at sea days require a variety of entertainment and enrichment options to ensure a positive experience. Serenade ...
We chose this cruise because of it's stops in Iceland. We have been to the other countries which were very nice. The Serenade is in good shape for it's age and the overall cruise was average but cutbacks are everywhere. They only supply one bar of soap at a time in the bathroom. The Hair conditioner and lotion are only given to Crown & Anchor Members who have over 350 points. A 15 night cruise ...
I chose the this ship as I wanted to go to Iceland and the larger ships do not go there.
I travel the transatlantic twice a year and prefer a ship that has the Royal Promenade, ice skating, diving, Production Shows, nightly entertainment , lectures, etc
I would not go to Iceland again but I can say "Been There, Done That"
I booked an interior room for the trip to Iceland. Never ...
Iceland is a very popular destination so we wanted to check it out. Done it and not impressed. If you had seen Niagara falls then the waterfalls in Iceland has nothing to brag about. The geysers are puny compared to the geysers in New Zealand and even the geysers in Yellowstone. What a mess it was in Copenhagen, the transfer from the airport to the port was totally disorganized. There was no one ...
We did a transatlantic from Copenhagen to Boston. The ship was clean, cabin balcony cabin was comfortable. First time I saw a chair instead of a couch. The mattresses need changed but we managed.
What they cut: no more lobster night, no more 90 minutes free internet for Diamond members- you get 24 hrs.,
What they did well: Employees seemed very pleasant especially our room attendant ...
joined cruise following "cruiser" friends ; very professional organization , clean state-rooms (Yerri) and entire ship ; dining room staff - excellent (IVAN , Benjamin and Bhandarri) ; excellent food and staff; shows could be better (artists) though the orchestra was excellent ; the enrichment lectures (Alan Fischer) were very good ; Halifax was a bit disappointing and also Christansand was not ...
Never did transatlantic or visited any of the countries before. The majority of shows were very good, particularly Stephanie Parker,Joe West,Joel.??,Abba tribute, and the ships Dancers and singers (although one of the male singers was replaced by a dancer who mimed for the second show they did) and the orchestra were very good as always. The cruise director was, unfortunately,on an ego trip. His show ...
We had seen all the reviews of the Serenade of the Seas before we went on the cruise and were very surprised by the ship. It was beautiful and well maintained. The staff were friendly and very attentive. We had suite 8036 which was near the rear of the ship. It was comfortable and very quite. The entertainment was excellent and their was plenty of activities to keep busy on an Atlantic ...
Chose this cruise as the ports of call were on our list of locations we wanted to visit. We found the excursions were overpriced through the cruise ship and could be obtained for significantly less in the locations themselves. We also found that the dining room experience has dropped in its attractiveness as the food in the main dining room and the buffet area was good but not up to the standard ...
