We chose this tour specifically to see Iceland. Unfortunately, the entire first day it rained and the second day was not much better. The third day was fine. Obviously, the cruise line cannot be responsible for the weather.
The 5 days at sea were a little long, but we new that in advance.Once again, not the fault of the cruise line.

Excellent service, food and entertainment, but we chose this cruise for the itinerary (which included Iceland). Taking a northern cruise in late August/early September limits your pool time somewhat, but it is a great time to be walking through ports. We chose this cruise because of it's stops in Iceland. We have been to the other countries which were very nice. The Serenade is in good shape for it's age and the overall cruise was average but cutbacks are everywhere. They only supply one bar of soap at a time in the bathroom. I chose the this ship as I wanted to go to Iceland and the larger ships do not go there.
I travel the transatlantic twice a year and prefer a ship that has the Royal Promenade, ice skating, diving, Production Shows, nightly entertainment , lectures, etc

Iceland is a very popular destination so we wanted to check it out. Done it and not impressed. If you had seen Niagara falls then the waterfalls in Iceland has nothing to brag about. We did a transatlantic from Copenhagen to Boston. The ship was clean, cabin balcony cabin was comfortable. First time I saw a chair instead of a couch. The mattresses need changed but we managed.
What they cut: no more lobster night, no more 90 minutes free internet for Diamond members- you get 24 hrs.,
