Disappointing

Just returned from 10 days around the canaries . Ship nice looking and everything was crisp as you would expect from a new ship. Have cruised with royal Caribbean many times and could not fault them. UNTIL NOW. As far as I am concerned and was the general consensus aboard the ship was they have upgraded the gimmicks and down graded the service . It was appalling . Service was slow or non existent ...

Before going into the negatives it's worth saying that we would go on the ship again once some changes have been put in place. Dropping cases was chaotic because, although you have printed and attached tags, you have to find a member of staff to put more tags with bar codes on for tracking before they are loaded onto trollies for loading. Boarding though busy was quick and efficient and we ...

Ship and Staff not ready after refit. Quality of food and service started as poor and improved to barely average. After 3 days a non-rhythmic knocking could be heard in the cabin making it very difficult to sleep. Maintenance unable to locate and fix source of knocking and eventually moved to an alternative cabin. Cruise did improve as it went on. Food and entertainment has been a lot ...

After having taken two cruises with P & O, the first being a short break "taster" on the Ventura and the second aboard the lovely Oceana to the wonderful Norwegian Fjords, we decided to broaden our experiences and so we booked with Royal Caribbean. We were fortunate to get a good deal including drinks package bottled beers cold drinks (but not bottled water) wine up to 9 dollars per glass and ...

Check-in was ok, we had a little bit of a wait but not bad. Our Seapass card which serves as the room key did not work, we had to try 5 times before they got it right. Apparently a lot of people had the same issue. They eventually came around to each room and did something electronically then they worked. We wasted a lot of time going back and forth and the lines kept growing for the same ...

First time cruise, my wife and I decided to do it this year so booked Adventure Of The Seas for the 14 nights going to Spain, Madeira, Canary islands and Portugal, first impressions of the ship were good, staff were polite and the food was tasty and plenty off it, pool deck was nice, hot tubs were hot, gym was great, even the drink prices were reasonable no more than you would expect to pay in a ...

Good but could be better for families with younger children

This was our second cruise with RC but this time we took our 3 and 5 yr old girls and one set of grandparents - which is why we chose not to fly. We booked two deluxe balcony rooms with an adjoining door. The room space was okay, not much room with sofa bed made up but ample and other than some passive smoking from other balcony users - it was lovely - please note only two chairs and very small ...

This review is not intended for first-time Independence cruisers but for old hands that may be wondering what has happened during the recent refit. Being both Diamond and a Suite passenger, I had a preferential queue prior to security screening, but there was no-one else there so it mattered not. Now there I was, pulling my trolley with one hand, holding paperwork in the other hand, a sunhat ...

Children under 14 noisily roaming the ship unsupervised at 2am, dreadful food, staff only interested in tips and the sort of accommodation usually found in a Travelodge - not a 'Stateroom', I was extraordinarily disappointed in this 'cruise'. I travel a lot for work and pleasure. I've stayed in everything from 2 star hotels to the 7 star Emirates Palace, and I know the Hospitality industry, even ...

Really disappointed

We have cruised many years on Royal Caribbean and before we took this cruise we had already booked next years with them. To say we were bitterly disappointed is an understatement. Had we not experienced exceptional service in the past we would never cruise again - even though we are Diamond members. Firstly the ship is looking tired, the crew look even more tired. They did not have any passion ...
