A further deterioration in the overall offering on the Independence.

Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on Independence of the Seas

This was our seventh cruise on the independence, our second this year, and having previously experienced and registered our many complaints about the deterioration in the standard of food in the main dining rooms, we were shocked to find nothing had been done to improve this. Other passengers were also very critical. We spoke to the Executive Chef in June and are very disappointed that nothing ...

Sailed on 10 night cruise including Madeira, main three Canary Islands and Vigo. Our slot for embarkation was 11.00 am to 12.00 am. Embarkation went very smoothly, very few queues at check in and we were onboard by 11.15. From parking car to getting on took no more than 20 minutes. Whether this was the same for later times I am unsure but certainly looking from our cabin around 2.00 pm there ...

We chose this cruise because we wanted to visit the Canary Islands. We liked the boat and our disabled cabin was excellent as was our cabin steward. The waiters also gave good service however we found the food disappointing. For example on one night there was salmon done three different ways with no salmon for the next few nights. Also a honey and orange glazed chicken was served with ordinary ...

I am not one for negative reviews, having been taught that if you cannot say something nice don't say anything. I will therefore start with the positives:- Boarding - smooth and simple, our cabin was ready at 1300. Cabin - always kept immaculately clean and the stateroom attendant was friendly and acted quickly on the only request we made. Food - Windjammer - plenty of variety of food ...

Buck up RCI...standards are slipping

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Navigator of the Seas

This was our tenth cruise, and fifth with RCI. Bottom line is how standards have slipped. The cruise started really well with the best and quickest embarkation we have ever experienced, unfortunately after that there isn't many positives to write about. Our cabin attendant was very low key and not as attentive as most we have experienced in the past, at one point there was a dirty glass in ...

2nd time in Oct better than in May

Itinerary was great -- very nice. This is the second time I cruised on the Navigator this year both 2 week cruises, one in may and then this one in Oct. The may cruise was deplorable in terms of ship management, cruise director etc. This last cruise far improved however some things don't change. 1) No such thing as seeing the Captain on this ship. As we laughed in May the same is true in ...

Not a Spectacular Cruise

We booked this cruise in February 2016 in order to get some Autumn sun rather than for the ports of call as we have visited most ports for holiday in the past. When we booked we received the inclusive drinks package, which, based on previous cruises, included wine by the galss, beer, soft drinks, spirits and cocktails (all with a $ limit on each drink). However, a couple of weeks prior to sailing ...

We have cruised RC several times. Little things make the difference and this time the little things were missing. My Time dining was fantastic, especially the service. (table 241).The stateroom attendant was equally professional. However, the price of beer and wine was outrageous-8.00/ beer and 13.00 for a wine. I really resent the 18% charge on the booze, especially when your already charged ...

Like other reviews for this cruise mixed feelings by us and our two friends. We have enjoyed many cruises with most of the cruise company's including previous cruises with R C. Having sailed on Independence and Radiance our expectations were high. Embarkation at Southampton was swift and efficient, we were on board by 11.30am. Balcony Cabin was great, clean, roomy we asked for and got robes, and ...

We have been on MANY MANY RCL cruises in the past. If this was our first RCL cruise, it would have been our last. The food was just average. The coffee was awful. The worst I've EVER had on a ship. We thought the entertainment was average. The elevators have a seperation beween them and it is hard to get to an elevator on the other side, unless you can really run. We thought the ...
