Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas

We booked this NE and Canada 9-night cruise (as well as the following 5-night to Bermuda) because the Grandeur is our favorite ship. We sailed on it in Oct. 2015 and again in Feb. 2016, but with other cruises booked this was the first time that we'd had a chance to sail on it since it'd gone to drydock in 2016. Although we could not see many changes (except for the seating in the Great Gatsby ...

We loved this itinerary - 13 relaxing days along the eastern shores of Canada/New England to take in the fall foliage; however, Mother Nature had other plans! Needless to say, we were disappointed to learn that the ship would not be docking in Sydney, NS as planned and therefore, our Taste of the Cabot Trail excursion was cancelled. We had a few other disappointments - Royal rescheduled our ...

Embarkation & Disembarkation - Arrived about 11:15 and had only a 10 minute wait. Did the self luggage on disembarkation and was off the ship and in the car in less than 20 minutes. Ship is one of the larger ones with 4200 passengers and thus some lines. Well maintained and well laid out for easy travel to and from different areas of the ship. Lots of very good places to just chill out and ...

I recently took a cruise from Boston to Bermuda 9/31/18-10/7/18. I love taking the cruise ship out of Boston it’s very convenient for us being only 45 minutes away, no flying. Also, Royal Caribbean leaves on Sunday afternoon at 5:00. Our designated arrival time was the earliest scheduled for between 10:30-11:30, we were there at 10:15 sharp and we were allowed to board the ship at 10:25…….. 10 ...

We choose this area as we thought a great time to see the changing leaves. Only a few seen! Our travel agent recommended this ship. The ports were great and we were exhausted at the end of the day!! Getting on and off went smoothly a little more congested on last day but not a huge problem. The ship is huge!! I thought 4100 passengers we had to be nuts going on this cruise, but there were ...

I'd chosen this cruise for our 41st wedding anniversary and planned it 10 months in advance. Everything was paid for, but I was still worried about hubby's mobility issues. Fortunately, RC gave me information on the vendor they use to rent electric scooter or wheelchairs. Hubby, however, refused. RC put us in a spacious, handicapped-accessible inside cabin near the elevator. Everyone from the ...

First 7 Night Cruise with RCCL Boston to Bermuda

The Serenade of the Seas is an easy ship to navigate and the Cruise Port Boston staff is great. Security is tight in Cruiseport Boston (fine with me!) but the embarkation process is a breeze. Fun to see the airplanes flying overheard departing from Logan Airport in Boston, Staterooms were not ready til 1:00 PM so you can check out the ship's public areas. Stop by any bar and Purchase or Open your ...

Having read so many negative reviews prior to leaving, I was curious as to what tragedy awaited us on this journey. Happy to report that the Serenade, Royal Caribbean, and cruising in general remains a great vaca option. For myself and DW, both 60 and working, this was our 12th cruise and 9th with RCI. While the mega-ships offer a huge amount of cool stuff to do, the smaller ships sometimes ...

Very easy to get around the ship. Very colorful, always some sort of the entertainment in the Centrum. EVERYONE aimed to please! Particularly Vince and Julius at Vintages Wine Bar. They remembered what we drank and when we arrived our drinks were poured even before we could sit down -- loved that! The food was exceptional. There were 6 of us and we ate dinner in the MDR each night. Our ...

We have done this cruise over and over, it never gets old there is always something new to see in Maine and in the Canadian ports. We booked the highly coveted Junior Suite aft cabin 1100 over a year ago. It was our first time in an aft cabin, and what a spectacular one. They have reupholstered the furniture and the cabin is in great shape. The huge balcony was perfect for this cruise with ...
