Great Ship - Mediocre Management

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

I am so conflicted on writing this review, because in many ways we had a great trip. However, there were several missteps when it came to the management of the ship that put a damper on our overall rating. First, the ship is beautiful and it was well maintained. Our cabin was clean and some of the features on the Quantum class are great (like extra storage in the rooms). We found the common ...

The anthem is beautiful ship and we went to some great ports. We had a ocean view cabin on deck 3, it was a very nice room and close to the promenade and theater. My biggest problem was that there were but way TOO MANY PEOPLE - you had to reserve everything - the main shows, the buffet at night, the anytime dining rooms Or you had to wait - the 14 deck open buffet wait was 1 to 2 hrs - ...

Overall cruise was excellent, ports were all very interesting, were given enough time for excursions and sufficient time in each place , getting off and on the ship went very smooth, Cape liberty embarkation and disembarkation went very smooth , parking was just around the corner, easy access from jersey turnpike. Cabin was spacious along with the balcony made for a very comfortable setting and ...

It was a blast. Traveling with a large group can be a challenge however, there is so much to do onboard the ship, that everyone was able to find something special they liked to do. We got together in groups, traveled as couples and played on our own throughout the 9 days. The lounges offered accommodations for a large group to play games and a quaint atmosphere when we wanted to go as a couple ...

My husband and I chose this cruise because we wanted to go up north and see the fall foliage (too early this year) and we wanted to leave from NY, NJ area (short driving distance). We have never cruised on Royal Caribbean before and had read a lot of good reviews about RCI and Anthem of the Seas so we were excited to get on board. Embarkation and disembarkation in Bayonne was fast and easy. ...

Good entertainment and food .. All good except excursions

The food and entertInment and on and off ship is easy and much better than other cruise lines that leave from New York (this one left Bayonne). The two worse things were the Royal carribean excursions and the horrible website you need to use to make the numerous dining entertainment and excursion reservations. We spent a considerable amount of money on excursions and they are not worth the ...

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Serenade of the Seas

Terrible value for the money. They have pretensions of being an upscale cruise. Two nights are supposed to be formal wear. We wear our tuxes, the table next to us is in shorts and T shirts. Pretty much sums up the cruise. There seemed to be a greater emphasis on selling junk: bad art, cheap jewelry and watches, etc. Also, spa service and cosmetic services. I know this is part of any cruise, ...

Spent the day before in Boston. Visited Quincy Market, Cheers and several other places near the harbor. Loved this area of North America. Great lobster rolls. Have always had a good experience with Royal Caribbean as far as dining, excursions, activities and entertainment. They had 3 comedians and all were very funny. Embarkation and disembarkation were a breeze. I would definitely like to see ...

This was a New England Canada seven day cruise. Service in buffet area was poor. Food was mediocre at best. It seemed that staff were constantly upselling us as we traversed the ship. Canned music in some areas was so loud it was deafening. Wait staff in main dining room was great. First cruise I have ever taken were there was an upsell on the main dining room menu.( not for specialty restaurant ...

The Serenade is a nice smaller ship,,, not as well kept as it should be. A little dirty in some places. The Internet is terrible,, can't log on,,doesn't stay connected,,and so slow,,,,,,, with staff only available at certain hours,,, not worth the cost !!!! Crew & Waitstaff are GREAT!!!!!,,,, Food as fine as any ,,,,Better then most,,,, Only real complaint was the Whale ...
