We flew into Newark 2 days prior to departure and stayed in New York City both nights. The morning of the cruise, we took an Uber XL (lots of luggage) from Manhattan to the port around 11:00 am arriving about 12:15 pm. Delayed about 30 minutes with backup at port. We had 4 in our group and paid $125 with tip.

Best part: the shows, the food, Flowrider and Ifly, 99% friendly crew, the sunsets
Worst part: lack of outdoor view points, glass in your view, practically no promenade deck, a LOT of walking, zero forward facing outdoor view except about half the time the wings over the bridge were open.

We just came back from our first cruise ever and Adventure of the Seas met our expectations. We had the spacious balcony Stateroom deck 8. It is very convenient if we wanted to walk up 3 levels to deck 11 for the buffet- Windjammer or walk down 3 levels- deck 5 for the Royal Promenade. The ship is beautifully and well maintained. We wanted a cruise out of NJ. Parking at Liberty is a breeze. Once parked we were on the ship in under 1/2 hour. We had a balcony on deck 8 on the hump. Great location! Had no problem with breakfasts in the windjammer or snacks. Always found a table. Did BOGO for first 2 nights. Had dinner in Chops and it was just OK. Doesn't live up to NY steak houses. Love Royal Carribeant. Having been cruising with them since 1997 and it is my most favorite type of vacation.
The food is fantastic the crew and all of their ships are gorgeous.
I highly recommend any of their ships as they are very accommodating.

I chose this cruise because I like Royal Caribbean and I didn't have to drive! But there are so many more reasons to take this cruise. The ship and staff, activities and lounge areas...all top notch!
