Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Quantum of the Seas

The good: We lucked out with the calmest seas in Feb cyclone season. RC shore visits in Noumea, Mystery and Port Vila. Expensive but well run. The insanely blue water of Mystery island. The beauty of New Caledonia and Vanuatu itself. Staring at the ocean ( an ocean view is a MUST!! ) Realising just how BIG the ocean really is. Well appointed and liveable room. Gym ...

I had a great time on this cruise, I was a solo traveller and everyone was really nice and friendly. I'd recommend the solo traveller meet up held on the first few nights. A few things I noticed tho. The Evian water package that cost me AUD$40 (pre cruise discount) turned out to be cheap supermarket water that would cost AUD$10, see pic. There weren't water fountains to fill up water ...

This was my seventh cruise with Royal Caribbean (Second on Quantum) and I have cruised with three other lines so I could claim to be a seasoned cruiser to a degree. First the good: Great friendly cabin and waiter staff (with one exception). Junell and Eugene in the main dining room were excellent while supervisor Rolston was very competent. Edgar looked after our room very ...

A very disappointing cruise

We decided to travel to Brisbane to celebrate our anniversary on a cruise to the South Pacific, instead of our usual departure port of Sydney, as Ovation was headed to NZ. This was our third Quantum class ship, and what a disappointment it was. The ship was overrun with unruly teenagers and their disinterested parents who did very little to control their offspring. Likely too busy ...

We really just did this cruise to help us get to Diamond Plus, but would rather be cruising then sitting at home. Ship hull looks bad, starting to look rusty and dirty, but inside ship is still good. The entertainment was good especially the Freddie Mercury show, excellent. Seen most of the other shows before, but for first timers they are good. Noted no guest speaker this cruise, last ...

Poor quality food in dining room, obvious staff cut backs in all areas of the ship

Longer cruise than the usual 7-14 days, expected more bang for your buck as we are diamond plus but this voyage fell well short of the mark. We ate mostly in wind jammers as the main dining food was not up to standard, so menu repeated for the entire cruise and not a lot of anything decent to choose from. ( you could go to wind jammers and get the same food) without having to wait for slow ...

Quantum of the Seas from Brisbane to Alaska

We sailed from Brisbane to Alaska on the Quantum of the Seas. The staff as always were efficient, hard working and kind. The food, however was disappointing and certainly inferior to pre covid days. Poor quality cuts of meat were used, any chicken dish in the Windjammer was inedible as the chicken pieces were just grizzle and chewy, as were the stews, having fatty grizzled meat in them. The ...

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Quantum of the Seas

Boarding I am not sure if it just a matter of cultural differences, but when departing from Australia, I really got the impression that the tsunami of passengers hurtling towards the Quantum were little more than irritation to the landslide staff. The staff's general demeanour towards embarking passengers was not that of a valued guest, it really stood out. To be fair, the over-enthusiasm of ...

This was our first taste of a cruise with 4600+ passengers and will not be repeated. It was like the Gympie Muster or Glastonbury without the mud. Our original oversize Deck 11 ocean view cabin 11102 had a great view through a large window overlooking the bow. We were directly under the Bridge. But possibly also the crew toilet as we were regularly treated to noisy vacuum flushing throughout ...
