Brilliance of the Seas was just Brillant

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Brilliance of the Seas

We have been on 10+ cruises with Royal Caribbean. We're experienced salty and seasoned cruisers. In the last year we've been on the largest ship RCL has the Wonder of the Seas to the smallest ship Grandeur of the Seas. The Brilliance of the Seas falls right in the middle of the the two ships mentioned above. We really liked the ship! The ship is a little dated but it has good bones. It didn't ...

I was disappointed in the overall way that things have changed, not for the better, since my last cruise on Brilliance. Several things stood out and these are why I gave several lower grades. The food was not what I expected, especially in the Minstrel Dining Room. Portions of vegetables were very small in most cases (one piece of broccoli?). Cuts of meat were thin and tough. In general at the ...

We have cruised for 20 years. We have cruised many times with Royal Carribean. We chose Brillance of the Seas for ports of call Cozumel and Caymans and a smaller ship. Our experience on this ship was mixed. The embarkation went fast and smooth. The food was really good. We were disappointed on anytime dining. We had a reservation and still had to wait in one line with others without ...

Great First Cruise

We joined a group of friends booked on this cruise. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. The managers checked in often to make sure everything was to our liking. Thanks to Mark and Justin at Minstrel for great dinner service and making it fun. Kudos to the chefs on taste, presentation and choices. Options for vegan and sugar free were offered. The taste of Royal was awesome. We were ...

First time RCCL and it was...okay.

I chose this ship and date because it was convenient to my home in Tampa and my fiance, traveling in from Ireland, only had nine days of holiday available. My only other choice was Carnival which has never appealed to me. Most of my nine cruises have been on Holland America, which is my line of preference for mass market travel. We didn't spend much on this five nighter to Cozumel and Grand ...

Worst cruise we've been on

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Brilliance of the Seas

6-10 Cruises • Age 70s

I wanted a short cruise departing from our home town. For two days we had no hot water. My son had no hot water for the entire cruise. Most of the staff had no idea what they were doing. The wait at every bar was very long. Since the imposition of gratuities the staff had no incentive to work faster. The food was mediocre at best. If you asked a staff member for assistance they would nod and go ...

Royal Caribbean Many Major Disappointments

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Brilliance of the Seas

We were very excited for a winter getaway to scuba dive in Grand Cayman and Cozumel and really looking forward to this trip. The food was very disappointing. Lemme say that I have pretty low standards and we usually eat something out of the freezer or a can for dinner. I eat mostly vegetarian and occasionally seafood. No meat, so limited options. The fish entree in the main dining room was served ...

This is my 11th cruise and 2nd for RCCL It's a 5 night cruise to Cozumel, Mexico, Cayman Island port from Tampa, Florida. Pros: Chops-grille waiter Kevin rocks, he went above and beyond serving us and he also have the chef writes "Congratulations and have a great future" on the dessert plate. (it was my son graduation cruise) Kudo to Kevin!!! MDR: Gwendolyn and Felirose, these two young ...

The amazing service made this trip extraordinary!

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Brilliance of the Seas

First Time Cruiser • Age 50s

My wife and I chose this trip for my first ever cruise - a four-night cruise to Grand Bahama and back - with family and friends. It's one of the smaller ships, so I had lower expectations (after reading so much about the giant ships). We left for Tampa on January 11th, when national airports shut down in the morning - an inauspicious start. Worse yet, the weather turned - down into the 50's - ...

We chose this ship because it was sailing out of Fla which is convenient for the other family members joining us. Also, I had been on 5 different RCL sailings and enjoyed them all. The good: Our waiter and his assistant (Ramesh and Jakar) in the main dining room. They were fabulous! Attentive, entertaining, hilarious.....just made my nite! Grand Cayman was fabulous! The ...
