The Deluxe Beverage Package is Deceiving and the Staff was subpar

We were not able to get the drinks we wanted on this package. We wanted a double shot of whiskey and we were told that the bartender could lose their jobs because passengers could fall and break their hip. We saw other passengers add a cash tip on top of the bill and then they were given doubles. We saw this at the Schooner bar. The bartender at the Crown and Castle pub was very arrogant. Nothing ...

We booked this cruise with friends; we had never sailed this direction before, although we had been to most of these cities from other vacations. Reviews - I always try to keep in mind that I know nothing about the person saying "this was awful", "this was wonderful", so I'm not going to offer any opinion, just tell you what happened. It began when my soup was delivered with a fly floating ...

This was our first non-Caribbean cruise and one of the BEST EVER!!!!! Beautiful scenery, great towns, and all loaded with history. It was also our first trip on the Serenade of the Seas and she's a great ship. We love the small-mid sized ships and this class is perfect size. Cabins were roomy, bedding luxurious and loved the arrangement of the room as we could stand looking out the window ...

My compliments to the chef in the Windjammer Café. The food in the buffet was excellent! We never bothered to eat in the main dining room as the service is so slow, but the buffet was great (varied menu every day, including lobster on the last night). Kudos to the Music Maker 4-piece band as they played the best dance music on the ship! We danced mostly in the Centrum on a hard tile ...

Royal is going downhill...

One of the worst cruises with Royal we have been on. The food was terrible including Giovanni's. The food service in general on the entire ship was bad. Room service was a hit or miss, that is only the continental breakfast. One day they were over an hour late but we had to leave, another day they only got half of the order.... The cabin was worn looking also, furniture has seen better ...

Not many activities while on board

Went with a large group. An item of sentimental value was stolen from our room on the first night. Dresser drawer was broken. In room safe was broken. Had them fix it the first time. Then just hoped the thief didn't steal anything else the last 5 days. On board activities were minimal at best. The food was bland, and service was slow. Never did see my waiter for our first breakfast in the dining ...

As a first time solo cruiser, I wanted a small "ish" ship and have wanted to go on a Canadian cruise for a while. The rooms are small (as all interior cabins are) but as it was only me, I had plenty of room. My room attendant was the best. He overheard me saying I needed a band-aid for a blister on my foot and went to my room to find change, instead, I found that my room attendant left me a ...

We live in a part of Texas where there are few trees and no fall so we took this cruise to see a bit of fall color. We saw some but we were probably a week early for peek fall color which is no fault of the cruise line. We went to Boston on Thursday and managed to put more than 60k on our fitbits by Sunday. We walked the entire Freedom Trail. Love history so I geeked out a bit. However I would ...

We had a good time. The food was delicious and served by a great staff who were very attentive. The ship is well equipped to provide a pleasant trip with plenty of time for activities and relaxation. The tours in Northeast US and Canada are excellent. The best we have encountered. There is a beautiful and warm swimming pool in the Solarium that my wife and I enjoyed especially on cool days. ...

The main reason I (we) chose this cruise was because of the venue - fall colors. Although the colors had not yet peaked, the colors were turning and were quite beautiful It's all about timing (and luck). We were just a little too early to get the full advantage of the fall colors. But the venues were great - Hallifax, Portland, Bar Harbor and Boston - all great stops. Having sailed many ...
