This was a New England Canada seven day cruise. Service in buffet area was poor. Food was mediocre at best. It seemed that staff were constantly upselling us as we traversed the ship. Canned music in some areas was so loud it was deafening. Wait staff in main dining room was great. First cruise I have ever taken were there was an upsell on the main dining room menu.( not for specialty restaurant ...
The ship is scheduled for dry dock soon so we knew she would be worn and tired. We were happy with her overall appearance.
The cabin again was worn and tired but worked for us. One of the drawers was very difficult to open but nothing we couldn't live with for a week. There was an odor similar to sewer gases in the bathroom all week. For some reason maintenance came mid-cruise and replaced ...
The trip on Royal began with boarding the ship and no crew member was around to direct us to the proper place to meet. We found by accident we were to go to the food court for lunch. Several people suffered the same experience and expressed their dislike and lack of coordination from Royal crew
My friend and I were standing by the bar on deck 5. A champagne glass fell from decks above ...
We chose the new England cruise as we have never sailed that area, with most of our cruises in the Caribbean. From the beginning, the crew appeared to be very short staffed. It was not unusual to see dirty plates left to sit forever in the buffet, and even on the pool deck. A crew member would just walk past the tables loaded with dishes and or glasses, and remove them only when asked. Another ...
We were driven to port by our daughter at about 1:00 p.m. Did not see our luggage until 5 hours later. Got to stand outside during muster drill in topsiders and cold weather, while some woman was coughing on me. Meanwhile is lecturing about our needing to turn in our Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Like we didn't hear on the Plane or it hadn't been on the news. You know the Capitan wasn't in the cold ...
My hubby and I went to Alaska in June of 2004 on Serenade of the Seas. We thought it was a beautiful ship and after 25 other cruises decided to go to Canada/New England on the Serenade.
We flew into Boston day of the cruise because motel rooms were so high. The taxi to the port was less than $25.00 and took less than 15 minutes. Because we were platinum, our wait in line was less than 5 ...
Embarkation in Boston was a breeze. We were on board within 30 minutes of arriving at the port. The ship however is in sad shape. Filthy windows, stained upholstry in the room and in the common areas. Entertainment was mediocre at best. Food in the main dining room was served cold and extremely salty or totally taste less. We had much better food in the Windjammer than in the main dining ...
We chose this cruise for a girl's getaway. Very disappointed in the food and service on this ship. This was my 3rd cruise this year. The food was the worst! In the dining room was served lukewarm at best. Most seemed like it had been sitting around long before it was served. There was an artificial, cheap taste to numerous dishes. Lots of dried out fish and pasta. ...
Food during main dining and at Windjammer was at best average. On past cruises dinner selections and food were above average. Toliets in stateromm did not work 3 of the 7 days (over 40% failure). One day our side of ship had toliet issues on all floors. Feel the $8.00 dollars a day for soda beverage package is to expensive (There is no soda charge on Disney cruises) Shore excursions were fine. ...
We went on the sister ship a few years ago The Jewel of the Sea and it was beautiful ship as is the Brilliance, so we thought we would try them again. We liked the ship and the buffet setup better than most other ships as they have individual stations for each type of food, avoiding long lines and getting to the end of the line and deciding you should have waited for another selection.
Their ...
