Good Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas

Previously sailed on Explorer and Adventurer. First time on the smaller Grandeur. Each has its benefits. We liked the seven story Centrum of the Grandeur, which provided numerous viewing options while activities were going on. The downside was fewer shops and no "sports bar". The Windjammer lacked light night snacks, but the addition of the Park Cafe in the Solarium made up for it. The panini ...

Charming Experience

We chose this cruise for the destinations and for the value of a Junior Suite. The ship is 21 years young, and there are some creeks in her bones! All in all, however, it was a lovely experience. Chops Grille was a delight on this one. We did dinner and two lunches. Simply fabulous. Our room attendant was great! A quiet man, but extremely efficient and thorough. Unfortunately, the dining ...

Crew works so hard to make a great cruise.

We like the Grandeur as it's near to home. I have seen other reviews with valid gripes, namely being solicited, repeatedly, to "buy" upgraded meals in the specialty restaurants, poor Guest Services experiences, stuff being added to our bill, and cruddy excursions, generally. That said, the great morale and great attitude of the crew once again made our cruise pretty great. The dining room food and ...

Good and weaknesses of a suprisingly well preserved older ship

We went on the Oct. 28th 12 day cruise to the Caribbean and had a OV cabin on deck 2 since I booked this popular ship too late to get a suitable cabin on a higher deck. I chose this cruise because of distance from our house in NC that did not require us to fly and because of all the positive comments from repeat cruisers that showed how much people loved this ship and the crew. POSITIVES: ...

Birthday Bermuda Cruise 10/14/17

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas

I chose this cruise because it was leaving on my friends birthday. Started out as a small possibility of the two of us going and ended up a group of 10 having a wonderful time celebrating the birthday and enjoying a cruise to beautiful Bermuda. Grandeur (Lady G) is a wonderful ship. On the smaller side but still lots to do and not over crowded. She is showing her age but is well maintained and ...

Ship not what it used to be, entertainment wise.

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas

We chose Grandeur of the Seas based on a previous cruise on it to Bermuda - TOP tier entertainment; not so much this cruise. Staff in the main dining room were absolutely EXCEPTIONAL but the food was typically not not though the staff would quickly remedy that. The ship was probably a 9 out of 10 on cleanliness - the cabin was a 10 on cleanliness and upkeep by the steward. The ports and ...

My best friend, her husband along with their handicapped son, my husband and I decided that we wanted to take a cruise. I am terminally ill, and wanted to take a cruiseas part of my bucket list. My husband has never flown anywhere, and says he never will. So it was very convenient to be able to leave out of Baltimore. Being it was our first cruise for the whole group of us. We decided we wanted ...

OWNERS SUITE 8002 IS FABULOUS!

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas

OWNERS SUITE 8002 was wonderful! Cabin steward Yudi was excellent. RCCL, however is very lax on its no smoking policyl. People on balcony directly under us smoked and later after we complained, they retaliated apparetly by throwing cigarette butts AND a plastic bottle half-filled with water and packed with cigarette butts up onto our balcony and RCCL did NOTHING. Also woman in suite 8004 next ...

Weather not the cruise line's fault

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas

We cruise on Grandeur every Sept. Weather was an issue this time, but we were prepared for the rough seas with the patch. Our goal is relaxation. If you want more options choose one of the larger ships. The photo staff is lawns. problem. I no longer buy any of the photos as a result. Spa staff is pushy to get you to buy product thereby ruining the calming affect of any service. ...

In spite of the weather we had a great time!

We left during Hurricane Jose' and caught the tail end making the cruise very rocky to say the least. We were not sick but, many were. The Embarkation in Baltimore was extremely easy. Left house at 10am and was on the ship 11:15am! Very smooth! The cabin was an outside cabin and seemed spacious enough for 3 adults. The 3rd person had to use a pullman bed which was an adventure in itself with the ...
