Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas

We chose this cruise because of the sailing date and the itinerary. The departure city was Baltimore Maryland, a place we had never visited before and looked forward to exploring, along with Washington DC, its close neighbour prior to our embarkation on 22nd December 2018. This went very smoothly. In fact, the most seamless we have ever encountered. Filling in all the paperwork does make such a ...

We chose this cruise because Baltimore was within driving distance. It was our first cruise. People said that the food would be great but....it wasn't. We typically eat at fine restaurants and so we were prepared to see similar fare. Not even close. The Windjammer Buffet was a feeding frenzy with people acting like they never saw food before. It quickly looked like a feeding trough for ...

The food in the dining room on this ship is far inferior to any RC ship I have cruised on.Overcooked chicken and steak, and tasteless fish. The service in the dining room for breakfast and lunch was extremely slow, and very slow for dinner. We cruised on Carnival Miracle in September 2018 and the food was excellent. The cabin was a starboard side ocean view. It was very noisy; we could hear and ...

We selected Royal Carribean for our annual family vacation. We travelled with approximately 30 members. We were truly disappointed by the appearance of the vessel. The strong "rocking " motion of the ship made even the most experienced cruisers in the group ill. The drink package price is exorbitant, skip it and pay as you go. Staff is very friendly though some have difficulty ...

Royal Suite Great! Baltimore & Bermuda Great! Cruise Not So Much.

We booked the Royal Suite 8500 and two additional staterooms - 4054 (oceanview) & 8513 (interior.) The Royal Suite was great and was a terrific value. The fact that this 5 night cruise left and returned to Baltimore was another big benefit, as we could drive the 45 minutes from DC and just get on the boat. Beyond those two factors - the value of the Royal Suite and roundtrip from Baltimore - ...

Bermuda was beautiful, but would not suggest cruising on this ship grandeur if seas, if you like late entertainment or plan to hang out late there is limited choice of food/entertainment, restaurants closed early which left no food choice besides terrible pizza and stale nachos basically, self serve soft ice cream was put up by 9-930 fir example, if traveling with family of 4 DO NOT GET CABIN OF ...

We have cruised about 20 times before—mostly ocean cruises with a variety of cruise lines and also 4 river cruises. While there were some good aspects of cruising from Baltimore on Grandeur of the Seas, the negatives outweighed the positives. Boarding—went smoothly until we reached the Windjammer for lunch. They were out of silverware and food was running low. We found out—a day or two ...

Very disappointing on Grandeur OTS by Royal Caribbean to Bermuda

We chose this cruise for timing (dates 19-24 May) & availability out of Baltimore which is an hour away. The check in procedure was well organized and easy. They have this process down pat. The food on the Grandeur OTS was poor/very disappointing. The meals were barely tolerable; three meals were so disgusting I could not eat them. The food service at my work provides better quality food ...

Chose this one because of the Black Friday deal and had some friends book along with us. Baltimore port was pretty convenient and the check in process went smooth. Very disappointed in the ship itself though. It’s old, needs updating and has very little to do for kids. 5 day to Bermuda only gives you 24 hours there even though itinerary is misleading by showing two days there. Bathrooms are tiny ...

We chose this cruise because it left from Baltimore, which my wife and I had not seen before. It also was easily accessible by plane (not overseas, etc). We also liked the ports, in particular, Charleston, Miami, and Port Canaveral, where we went to Cocoa Beach. Unfortunately, there were some major drawbacks. First, Royal Caribbean International (RCI) has apparently done away with purchasing ...
