Windjammer hot food was never hot, with limited selections. Dining room food was below average for a cruise ship. Extra charge specialty restaurants where up to expectations.
Practically non-existent Casino VIP program, hassled just trying to get the free drinks. Seemed the bar staff didn't get the message on how to treat the casino VIP's. We were in a Jr. Suite, so it's size was OK, but ...
We did this cruise as a back to back with the preceding Caribbean 11 night, for a total of 20 nights. The price was good and there were some ports we had not been to so we chose to try going out of Baltimore in the winter.
I should qualify this review by saying we are Elite Plus on Celebrity, so we couldn't help but judge this cruise somewhat by Celebrity standards (it failed). That may not be ...
We chose to sail with Royal Caribbean because it was winter, out of Baltimore and a good price. Boarding was smooth. Our cabin was adequate but the layout put the bed in front of the window and restricted our ability to look outside. The shower had a curtain instead of a sliding door. We left Baltimore late due to engine problems, arriving late in Charleston. In Charleston, a lifeboat the crew ...
Our cruise started out in Baltimore on a Saturday and it was an hour or two late leaving port due to an engine problem. On Sunday at sea everyone received message there would be no water from 1 a.m. for several hours and this would continue for the next night also as they are doing maintenance work late at night/early morning. This was no problem unless you had to use the toilet after 1 am. ...
Took this one mainly because it was out of baltimore and a three hour drive. The ship is in POOR condition, goes in Feb for a three week dry dock and needs it. Never saw a ship in this condition. Even the dishes in the buffet upstairs were worn. THe main dining room had some odd choices for the dinner menu, they had turkey twice on a 12 day cruise and I always looked forward to the soups....I ...
I must say that the ship was very lean and maintained even with the crack in the rear end. Service was average but with all the cut backs I can see why. Food was 75% the same every meal and not really of the best quality. I must agree with others who mentioned the TV programs being the same over and over again. Nice to have Royal in Baltimore but Royal needs to kick it up a notch. This is the ...
I was on the Granduer for Christmas just last year. The only difference is that last year RCCL offered 2 week long cruises over the holidays, when this year it was 1 12-day cruise over both Christmas and New Years. Compared to last year:
1. Qualtiy of food drastically went down.
2. Dinner menue selections were repetitive.
3. Quality of both dining room and cabin steward service ...
First, we enjoyed our cruise but the service and food was poor. The truth is this was a very mixed experience. First the good,
1. This is the friendliest ship at sea. The passengers are very engaing and fun, real down to earth people.
2. The cruise was very cheap.
3. The Diamond lounge.
4. Our cabin was ecellent, if a bit worn.
The bad,
1. At times the food was uneatable, ...
Ship is 20 years old and shows it. But that doesn't begin to show how Royal Caribbean is falling down on their promises of WOW ! We have been on 30 cruises of which 8 were RC's, and 6 were on this ship "The Grandeur of the Seas". We started cruising on the Grandeur in 2004 and have steadily seen the ship deteriorate as well as the service.
Lets start with the cabin which was adaquit for 2 ...
This is my #4 cruise but it’s my first time to write a cruise review. Very disappointed, I don’t understand why there are still 4 stars rating for this ship. I think most of the 4/5 star review here are fake. Some people will say you get what you paid for. Not true here, it is one of the most expensive cruises we paid, but it is the worst experience--- Avoid this cruise. Believe me. Put your ...
