This was our worst cruise ever. Now with that beginning I can't fault the staff on the cruise. We had bad weather, rough seas, and norovirus! Royal Caribbean can't control the weather or the rough seas but they should shut down the ship for a little bit to get control of the virus being spread on the ship. There are not enough day time activities on this ship. If you are fine with no ...
1. The boat had Mechanical issues at sea (lack of ability to steer the boat to the left).
2. High number of passengers got sick at sea (Gastrointestinal issues, flu symptoms).
3. Boat is not well maintained (I.e. water leak in stateroom, bad Oder, rusty areas).
4. Excursions were at best mediocre.
5. The buses used to drive the passengers to their excursions were not well maintained ...
We decided to take this cruise for our daughter who will be graduating from College this May and give her some time to relax and get ready for her final semester. Due to mechanical problems the cruise wa extended 2 days and ended up being a 11 night cruise. The weather was not the greatest but you really can't control that.
This ship is one of the older ships of RCCL and it is starting to show ...
Grandeur of the Seas Review - January 2 through January 11, 2018
I really thought long and hard about writing a review for this cruise because I didn’t want to do an all negative review but I feel that people that read Cruise Critic reviews are looking for good information when spending a large sum of money on a cruise, so I decided to write the review.
I wish I could honestly say it was the ...
Great value, relaxing and fun. We like to get away to a slightly warmer climate during the winter. This was our 2nd time on this ship. We are low key cruisers - enjoy a cappuccino and muffin in the morning, sit/swim at pool - read a good book or meet new people at Trivia, end with a quiet dinner and entertainment (nice variety and different from our previous cruise on this ship) in the evening. A ...
I chose this cruise because it left from Baltimore and the dates were a perfect time to be away from MD.
Everytime I got on or off the ship, it went very smooth and the crew was super nice.
I was in a balcony room on the 7th deck and my attendant, Mennie, was amazing......she was on the spot at all times.
I mostly hung out at the bars. If you drink more then 3 or 4 drinks a day, then ...
I always thought I wanted to go on a long cruise with time at sea to do nothing. This 12 nighter changed my mind. The cruise itself was great, but the downside was having 3 days at sea, then 5 ports in a row, then 3 more (rough) days at sea was a bit challenging. The crew were fantastic - they didn't seem tired of all of us at all. The whole crew was enthusiastic and friendly the whole time. ...
We chose this cruise because we wanted a holiday cruise out of Baltimore. The bonus was that it stopped in Martinique. My husband and I met at club Med Martinique in 1974! We swore never to return because it could never compete with falling in love in paradise. However, after 43 years, we were ok and looking forward to seeing it again. We rented a car and drove to club med for a day trip. I do ...
It is our home port, only RC and Carnival are available here, And we don't like to fly. We always choose RC. And Lady G is a nice old lady with home feel . Great friendly crew. Good food ( i gained like 8-10 pounds ) Love the spa with sauna and steam room ( free of charge) Not crowded, Always something to do. Love the sea days required to get somewhere nice and warm. It's good for relaxing and ...
This is our 4th cruise with Royal and we've sailed on Grandeur's sister ship Rhapsody so we thought we knew what we were getting into. Overall we'll avoid any cruise with Grandeur in the future, and this has severely tainted our opinion of Royal Caribbean
We picked this cruise because it had a great looking itinerary and we'd done a previous Christmas cruise with Royal out of Florida on Oasis ...
